@markr9312 I cooked the Bonito and it was great. I immediately bled, gilled, and gutted on water. My suggestion, target, YT, Sea Bass, Halibut, and Bonito tomorrow
One of the most beautiful places anywhere. Good luck with your surgery. Methods have improved greatly, and recovery times have likewise shortened for most people. Cheers.
Hey Mark, I caught nice 10 pound Bonito yesterday, bled and gutted it on the water. Cooked a fillet today and it was excellent. Bonito are on the bite right now. We are going fish out of Dana tomorrow if you are interested.
I saw that they've been around and are some of the best grade I've ever seen in La Jolla. I'm going to try Wednesday, first time back since the hip was replaced. It'll be 8 weeks, since the surgery, that's amazing.
I'm hoping that by Wednesday, having a few days of lower surf will make the fishing better. It's so hard to see things great one day and many others are slow. thanks for the update.
Been a spearfisherman for a long time but recently started kayak fishing ja Jolla and north county. Thanks for posting the vids, hope to bump into you one of these days. Good luck on the surgery.
Thank You. Enjoy the Kayak fishing, La jolla is a great place to spearfish from a Kayak. I used to see a lot of spear fishermen a few years back when i also fished from a Kayak. Edges of the kelp were always good. tight Lines!
I'm tired. Like Mikey on Monday, all I caught were mackerel e greenbacks and 3 Spanish. I also caught a large Smelt first about 12" might be the biggest Smelt I ever caugh. I put it on a circle hook on my Terez rod with the 2spd Avet SX Raptor, drifted and trolled it most of the day. No other hits all the way to the south MLPA by Wind & Sea. Wore my waders and my light North Face jacket. Was perfect and did not get cold even when things cooled down and wind picked up around 11am. Off the water at 2:15pm launched about 7am
I was hoping, I went to an area that for many years was a great hang out for large WSB and Yellowtail. I drifted there and when the current changed I trolled the bait under 2 mph.@@monaco8858
No Looks like I'm having to wait till there's another opening next week after the next Storm that's going through the weakend. It' a 100 miles round trip when I go to La Jolla.@@monaco8858

Thank you, I know, I already had the total left knee done in 2014, but a lot of the over time impact also wore the hip. Tight Lines!
