Villarreal also played a highline attacking game. But Barca's uniqueness with high line intensity is Flick's physical conditioning. Villarreal got tired, but Barca was physically fit to the end.

Kounde and Martinez have been severely underrated by some fans. Kounde has been perfectly discipline and helping us unlock Lamine on the right flank. Iñigo has clearly been putting his all in defense

Many were worried about the fact that Flick couldn't speak Spanish but that has turned to be a blessing actually. It brings new air, some sort of neutrality even in the press conferences. i heard some of the players are practicing their english in that regard, resulting in an active listening from the players and overall positive vibes.

Bravo would be free and would probably take next to nothing salary wise just for the chance to come back. He also was still starting for Betis in La liga last season and starting and playing well for Chile in the copa America a couple months ago

The highline idea can work great if you have fast RB and LB that can catch up with the opponent wingers if there's a fast counter attack. However Kounde is too slow and while Balde is faster, but he has positioning issues. I trust Flick 100%, but I honestly don't see how his idea would work against speedsters like Mbappe, Vinicius or Rodrygo. We have to think at something else. Not sure the idea to outscore Real would work.

The injuries keep coming in! When we were just about to begin to enjoy Marc Bernal long term injury hits him. Now it's Andre Terstegen, even though he committed errors against Monaco he's still the best in la liga. In this game against Villarreal he had fantastic saves. Raphina has certainly come to the party big time. When the first stories came out about the interest in Dani Olmo, I suggested that the technical team should seriously consider converting Raphina and Torres instead of pursuing Olmo. It is good to see Raphina thriving in his new role. Torres can do it as well with careful training, guidance and development. Unfortunately it looks like he's not a favourite of Hansi Flick. So far so good in la liga, it is the CL that we need to do good at.

I think Villareal is just overwhelmed with our right players, not just Yamal, Kounde disrupted their line of defense with his overlap crosses. Both Yamal and Kounde are just dangerousin the right side, they remind me of Messi/Dani Alves combo.
Ter Stegen is one of the best goalkeepers that is suitable to be at Barcelona. His ability to be quick on his feet has helped us many times to build from the back.
But not only that, but on one on one situation he has made saves that have won us games.

Not sure we can wait until January to get a new replacement GK…..don’t think Pena is ready for the level that the modern game is demanding..seems nervous in games which makes me nervous as well…..think we need to consider the free agent options….was always a fan of Keylor…..then we make another evaluation at January based on performance of the free agent….the first half of the season is where the foundation is laid for the other half,..the situation is a grave one for us not to add depth in the GK position sooner rather than later.
The high defensive line can be nerve racking….sure Flick and the team will be looking to capitalize on the opportunities to improve……also, the regulars are coming back so should be able to close more of the holes in the dense
Both Verbruggen and Valles are top quality. I would personally like Verbruggen considering his wonderful Euros performances. He, however, would probably be much more difficult to sign than Valles when factoring in our beloved Deco.
Jamie you nailed the point with Ter Stegen Barca lacks proper squad training we need a ball distributing goalie who can step up to save us in big games in UCL cus MATS can’t save us in UCL games he seems to be more of a Local Champion than European Champion and if we can’t get a top goalie we should go for Pickford of Everton or Henderson of Crystal or Leno of Fulham

Raph is king, he's been playing well from he entered the squad. Even when Xavi limited his game time and pulled him from his Hattricks and played Ferran instead of him. He was performing, both with numbers and work rate.
I think we should bring back Bravo and sign the lmLas Palmas keeper on a free contract in January. So he can join us in the summer. That would be a tidy piece of business. Yamal's cross was superb, sadden by Mats injury, and he was having a good game.
TBH as well Kounde is possibly one of the best defensive RB in the world.
In terms of assist and numbers Trent is ahead, but this guy is solid.
I think Flick is also trying to get everyone's confidence up so that every player gives their 100% and make an impact when called upon. Plus with our injury record we need everyone firing. To call upon some of these players against Villarreal away is nothing short of brave. Flick is truly the SIGNING OF THE SUMMER!

Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool could be a great option too, he's a great shotstopper and young and can potentially replace Ter Stegen as he is only 25 right now. He has stated that he wants frequent game-time and Liverpool wants around 20-30m for him which is reasonably cheap for an excellent keeper with great potential.

The Nike deal wouldn't have allowed us to sign Mamardashvili, it wouldn't have allowed us to sign Williams, it wouldn't even get us to be able to have Christensen registered. & Even if we could have signed another player why the fuck would we sign a backup goalkeeper on high wages to sit behind our starter on higher wages while the club continually struggles to sign players to positions of need like fullback or midfield let alone completely waste it on a backup GK
