He might not be as technically gifted as a ronaldinho or a Neymar but his determination has made him a lethal player at what he do is good at, he is the last person you want getting played to in the box and all credit goes to flick, I just can’t wait to see Fati and gavi in this system

Raphinha is in the best form of his career at Barcelona right now and with the way he’s playing, he’s arguably one of the best wingers in the world and it’s very clear that they made the right decision in not selling him in the summer. He has won over some of the fans who wanted him out at some point even though his output was very good. It’s great that he’s getting praised for his contributions on the pitch even though all the attention is on Lamine Yamal and it makes sense because he’s 17 years old and the things he’s doing at his age is unheard of as he’s in the conversation for being the best player in the world getting Ballon Dor shouts as a teenager and he’s the best winger in world football. He was good under Xavi, but with Hansi Flick as their manager, he has elevated his game to another level and he’s played with a lot of freedom and it doesn’t matter what role he’s played as whether he’s a left winger or an attacking midfielder, he has been putting in consistent performances and has been an 8/10 in most of the games they’ve played and he has a lot of confidence in his play. Last season he was very good as he got double digits in goals and assists and he had some big moments for them in the champions league knockout stages getting 3 goals in both legs against PSG even if they didn’t win that in the end, he still provided an impact on the team, this season he has taken his game to another level and is a better player now than he was in his first couple of seasons at Barcelona.
He has 5 goals and 2 assists in 6 games (he has more non penalty goals himself than Real Madrid’s attack combined), this includes a hat trick against Real Valladolid and a brace against Villarreal at the weekend, his performances have been so good to the point where he’s made Barcelona fans forget about Nico Williams as he was a player that they were trying to sign all summer and now with Raphinha’s form some of the fans don’t even want him at the club as they believe that they don’t even need him anymore that’s how good he’s been. This is what makes him their Swiss Army Knife type of player and he always fights for the badge and gives it his all whether or not the team wins or loses. On top of his ability to get goals and assists as he has very good numbers, his technical ability and he has some flair in his game even if he isn’t the flashiest despite being Brazilian, how he’s able to create chances and have a work rate that’s so unlimited makes him a dream player for any manager. Flick has gotten the best out of almost everyone in the team and everyone under him is thriving and Raphinha in general has been playing some sublime football and this is the best I’ve seen him play during his time at Barcelona.

Raphinha was severely underrated and misused by Xavi and his tactic.
As for captain, he deserves it more than anyone in the team: he bleeds blaugrana, he gives his best every time, he never stops, he is aggressive but smart ... he is a leader.

Your video just sums up how most Barca fans are too blind to see great players; for most of us, a good player is a flashy, skilled player. He was always playing with the intensity that you are talking about; he was always this good. I'm sorry that you and some of my Barca fans were too blind to see that it was not about his statistics; it was about the manager's trust in the player and tactics. If you have a good eye for a good player, you wouldn't dismiss Rafinha. Forget about the statistics. They don't always do justice. Rafinha is an old-school player, that's why many people don't see how good he is. The problem was Xavi; he was only focused on the Spanish players, which made me dislike him, making Rafinha come from the bench and constantly substitute him over Yamal. Look at what Flick is doing. Yamal is still growing. He takes Yamal off. Rafinha moves to the right, on one hand protecting Yamal on the other, giving Rafinha the respect and confidence he deserved; that's how it should have been. Torres over Rafinha, that was wrong. I loved Xavi as a player, but as a manager, I don't agree with his choices.

Absolutley agree with most of you said. Although I would argue that after the world cup (after Dembélé's injury) Raphinha was already our best attacker and top3-4 player in the squad. Statistically in that second half of the golden medal season, he had the most goals in points, and all this with his unbelievable amount of work and defense! Last year, he was constantly our top3-4 players, earning man of the match 3-4 consecutive time even. He was the best in last autumn just before his injury, scoring goals from 20 meters, but due to the injury, he fell out of the rythm for 1-2 month, unfortunately. He was a metronome last season, he had a goal or an assist almost exactly 90 minutes difference, that's how good he was. The goal+assist/minutes ratio was world class level, around 1.00/per match. He had runs where he had goal/assist in every single match he started for 2,5 month.
And he did that from like 5 different position! He even played left back occasionelly :D He was tossed around like a rag, he was always the first one to be subbed, even on the run when hi got the man of the match award 3 consecutive times. He was the most underrated player in the world.
He was actually my favourite player in the Premier League. I want nuts when we bought him. But then we played him on the left, and Xavi didn't respect him at all. His confidens was so low, that he haven't scored a single goal outside of the box in the first year. In Leeds, he scored 12 in two season just from outside the box. He's still recovering in that regards, I hope he'll find this as well, it's the only thing I'm missing. He was one of the best in that regards in Europe.
This year, he is a world-class, elit player. Flick trust him, and he repays that trust. Xavi made a horrible mistake with him, how he used him.
And what you said about him being a captain: 100% on the money. I don't actually think there is any other player in Europe with this determination. He's the perfect captain. I fear the moment when Frenkie comes back... he is everything what a captain shouldnt be. Mild-mannered, doesn't do much for the club, and nowhere near as influential player as the brazilian.

Rafinha has consistently been a statistically solid player, but his lack of dribbling ability and technical skills doesn’t align with Barcelona’s style of play. As for Lewandowski, I agree that he should be benched in the Monaco game. He’s been slowing down the team, not necessarily due to age, but because his role as a central forward pivot isn't fitting with the current system
In some part/time of the game

Running fast and for a long time without getting tired doesn’t make you Barcelona level. He’s okay for now but we need someone better.
He ruins too many attacks, makes dumb choices and dribbles himself much. It’s fine for most of the season because they’ve been making up for it but a Man City, Arsenal, etc, etc sent going to give us as many chances and players who waste the ball like him are going to kill us
Let’s be realistic and stop settling because it’s what we got or we like someone’s personality. Ferran is a good person, tries his best and occasionally makes up for his mistakes too but no one is glazing him and begging him to stay…. Because he’s not Barcelona level
