Congratulations @Carmen for answering the ChangBin/TeddyGrey “HEE” question correctly!!❤️
Double Knot 💪
Victory song, all in
Double knot
"The Tortoise And The Hare" 🙌
N/S
"that sounds like it's gonna be a lot happier"
me: ...just wait a second
"This looks and sounds like it's gonna be a lot happier" lmao
This reaction was fuckin hilarious man.
This is my favourite title track from them and I loved your analysis of it.
I literally burst out laughing when he said that 😂
I was like "good luck with that" when he said it's a lot happier lol
I died laughing. Like... "Teddy, this is Stray Kids we're talking about."
I laughed so hard😂
did you notice during the drop in the background there's a guy voice saying "common side effects include nervousness, insomnia, nausea, agitation, anxiety, weakness, sweating, vision problems, psychosis, numbness, dizziness, headaches, weight loss, skin irritations"
they're so clever to put that! i'd never imagine someone putting a disclaimer from a medication ads in a song until stray kids
SKZ creativity is on another level
Holy crap I never even realised that and this is probably one of my favourite stray kids songs
That was what i first noticed when i heard the song and they truly are musical geniuses
Also the whole album is titled, Clé 2: Yellow Wood and the intro song in the album is called Road Not Taken, referencing the poem by Robert Frost - Road Not Taken. Which is about having two choices and going where no one goes. In Side Effects, they revived “Psytrance” a dying genre and mixed it with kpop. Basically going against the grain of mainstream songs.
At first they got a lot of hate for this track. But now almost every kpop group trying to be experimental like them and copying their style
omg thanks for telling us, ive never noticed that
This was the track that made me see that Stray kids are bigger than pop. They fucking killed me on this like when a best friend opens up and you realise that you're feeling the same things and never knew someone else was feeling the same. Just mindblowing.
LOUDER 😍😭😭😭😍😍😍😍 PLEASE..
Beat drops: Teddy throws himself at the wall... 😂
Bonnie comes in before the drop: Teddy can't help but jump to his flow then joins him for the chorus ❤❤❤
Best reactions for sure
This was one of the times when I stopped everything and I thought "this guys simply understood their role in music" and I feel this way till today. Stray Kids has shown that their are capable of anything they want with this. And 3RACHA especially got it even more. They are not afraid, they are changing the K-pop industry.
And also, the back sound of the migraine commercial makes me so excited everytime.
I recommend district 9 it's their debut song and trust me they went hard on that one too
Right, that song got me into them
It was their 1st day on the job and they slapped the whole industry. Still can’t get over the iconic rap verse 😔
BTW I'm sure someone has told you already, but there used to be a ninth member of Stray Kids. Woojin left the group in October 2019 but you'll see him in older music videos like this one. Also I love this song so much, it's extremely relatable to me. Several of the members of Stray Kids have mentioned their struggles with mental health, so I'm sure this song was spawned partially from personal experience. Thanks for your reaction!
Ahh I've been excited for this one! when i heard the 'this one sounds happier' i knew it was gonna be fun lol Side Effects is one of my favorite tracks and to see your excitement is the best thing ever!! i love how you always hear the smallest details, i hadn't fully noticed the high pitch sound in the final chorus until you said it and it blew my mind. Thanks for your awesome reactions every time!!
With the way you flung yourself against the wall I was thinking 'Yep. This is why women live longer than men!"
Bro that was savage😁
I believe this is one of their experimental songs - psytrance (psychedelic trance). Noise music hence their clapback NoEasy album, Thunderous etc. Another one is Tortoise and the Hare. Correct me if i’m wrong. They have a variety of genre in their discography. Check out their “happier” songs The View, Blueprint, Ta, Boxer.
and this is my best stray kids songs ever. Its so unique
Hurling yourself against a wall is a perfectly normal reaction to this song. Or pretty much anything by Stray Kids. Overwhelming intensity and with totally unpredictable switchups.
Side Effects was so freaking underrated at it's time and I didn't get why when it's a masterpiece!!! It's stills one of my favorite Stray Kids "pieces". I love the song (beat and lyrics) and I also really love the MV and the choreography.
This was before one of their members Woojin left the group so here they were 9 instead of 8
And the song is about anxiety so let's say mental health
Ooooh, thanks for the inside gossip 👀 is Woojin like Voldemort now, do we not speak of his name in the Staydom? 😂
@@TeddyGreyOS i mean, a lot of stay still supports him. i'm not really caught up on what went down to make him leave. he does solo projects now
@@TeddyGreyOS i'd say the majority of stayville (at least on twitter) doesn't support him nor like him, and skz have never mentioned him since he left and we're fine with that :D
@@TeddyGreyOS there are stays that still support him on his new path as a solo artist but a good majority of stays are sensitive and prefer to not talk about him. its a very sensitive topic as he left when they were about to have a comeback but was pushed back and had to re-record EVERYTHING along with editing and re-printing the albums to not have the ex-member in it. it was a very dark and hard time for stays and stray kids in late 2019. i wasn't even a stay then but i've learned to respect and understand how hard it was for both the group and the fandom to know that its something they try to move pass. i mean, stray kids have re-recorded pretty much almost all their past songs that had Woojin in it to ot8 versions. stray kids has made it very clear that they are 8 members now and forever. like when i became a stay in dec 2020 and found out about Woojin, i just knew of him and that he was part of the group for a year and half so i will see him in their earlier mvs until Double Knot MV (which is the last time you will see Woojin in) and dats it. unforunately, he will always be known to me as the ex-member who left. i never bothered to get to know him because there was no point. but i did acknowledge that he does have a nice voice. after listening to skz entire discography (before oddinary & noeasy dropped), i realized and this is only my personal opinion but despite Woojin being their main vocalist at the time (this is where fixed positions were still a thing in skz) that his voice didn't really match well with skz's sound. anyways, stays and cubs (woojin's fandom) dont get along which is kinda understandable. im just gonna end this here bcz this is already a long comment, im so sorry for that, but i js wanna say that at the end of the day, stray kids and woojin are doing just fine on their own and we should leave it at that.
@@TeddyGreyOS Doesn't matter, most of the Stays don't care about him anymore.
2:51 "Common side effects include nervousness, insomnia, nauseas, agitation, anxiety, weakness, sweating, visual problems, psychosis, numbness, dizziness, headaches, weight loss."
I was looking for this 💕 few people pay attention to this part of the lyrics
HELP THE WAY HE JUMPED TO THE WALL
"It sounds like it's gonna be a lot happier"
My sweet, sweet summer child. You had no idea what you were getting into with this one, did you :D
I love that you noticed the important message of the song. Side Effects is about the side effects of growing up and the emotions and anxiety you feel growing up. I became immediately a Stay when I first heard this song, that being said I know Stray Kids has lots of amazing incredible songs but this is my favorite hands down. Thank you and please react to more Stray Kids song all of their songs has special meaning to it, its how Stray Kids do it 😇
3racha has a way of weaving in messages into almost all of their tracks.
BangChan is an amazing producer alone and then you add in ChangBin and Han Jisung into the process and just about anything is possible.
They group have always tried to touch on subjects that are emotionally relevant to everyone.
Loved your reaction, thank you!
Side effects was the first song that I heard from SKZ and I was hooked. It's brilliant! A real head banger!
This song goes well with "Unedited footage of a bear" (anyone reading this, watch that infomercial it's crazy LOL) thank you for expressing this with your body because I'm the sameXD. Also I agree, especially these days, months, we are emotionally a little more affected than before, so it's good listening topics like this one, expressing more with music, it's easier to give a message :') thank you!! Have a good week, I sent a tiny bit of money as gratitude.
Thanks for the recommendation. Whoa.
Love it!! It’s so different and that’s why Side Effects is hated by others but loved by Stays. SKZ do a lot of experimental music. Another hated track by others and loved by Stays is Tortoise and the Hare. Very experimental but truly loved by the fans and if you break down the production it’s very cool. Such simple yet effective track.
Thank you for mentioning the tortoise and the hare. It’s one of my favorite songs. 😊
👍 agreed!!!
Please react to their Predebut song "Hellevator". They talking about their struggle in the competition and to be a singer. Not only the lyrics are so relatable, the beat are bangers.
your stray kids reactions are the BEST
you're such a vibe
"this looks and sounds like its gonna be a lot happier" i laughed out loud
this is the most relatable skz reaction i’ve ever seen😭😭
The diversity in stray kids discography is amazing.
This song is a masterpiece on its own but the live performance and choreo is what's make this song so epic
I went through mirror mirror so many times, but it was a lot of fun dude :) definitely won’t mind doing something like that again hahah!
skz have caused me to nearly die so many times now hahah! They go so hard, they really opened my eyes to genres I didn’t like at all before finding them :)
my thoughts throughout watching this video of yours was "oh, he's not ready for what's coming next." 😭 it was so funny seeing your reactions cuz i was like HE GETS ME😭😭 btw the music video goes into the skz universe lore, which no one has yet cracked completely as a whole, but we do kinda get what's going on. side effects is from their album called "clé 2: yellow wood", where skz reference the poem by robert frost called the "road not taken", which is also named as the album's intro. so basically they took the road which is not usually traversed through with confidence and trust, but now they're suffering through the consequences and are questioning their decision of whether it was the right path to choose, basically going through side effects. the lyrics are different from what's happening in the mv, but i feel like they go well with it and simultaneously connect with the universe
side effects is actually one of the songs i listen to for when i have really bad migraines cuz it helps lift a bit of the pressure... my favourite version is the special stage from dec 31 2019 i highly recommend it
Just in case no one told you, Stray Kids originally debuted with 9 members. Kim Woojin left the group on October of 2019. He is now a solo artist. So when you watch older music videos, like this one, you will see Woojin. They have re-recorded most of their music without Woojins voice but of course the can't redo old music videos.
The tortoise and the hare, PLEASE!!
Thunderous and Back Door 🤯 u are really going to enjoy it 💗
I'm so late here but funny you mention the song lyrics reminding you of someone struggling, the noise frequency and beat of this was actually made to the exact frequency and beat of music made to help with anxiety and depression. I forgot which video went in depth about it but it's really amazing! One of my fave Skz songs!
Also once again praying you'll listen to Easy as I think you'll love it! Thanks for this reaction!
Saying "interpretive dancing" before the beat drops was absolutely hilarious! STAY ♥ STRAY KIDS
i also feeling the urge to throw myself into a wall when listening to side effects 😌 it goes so fkn hard, my body just wants to like, thrash around 💀
You should listen to Any by them and watch the MV... It's my favorite. And also big support, I love ur reactions they are so real. Just keep it going.
I love Any ❤ and the Ta dance performance is a rush haha
This lovely man will become a stay in no time, or he already is. 👀♥️
I'm telling you, stray kids are the standard. they're the moment. everything you could ever want.
I love how you're so obsessed with Stray Kids. I love their songs too and your reactions are so great XD
This song is so great. You really have to watch the kingdom legendary war performance of it. It is absolutely stunning
There is an absolutely wicked performance video to this song as well, you'll get a full on visual mindf*CK too 😂 Actually, Side Effects and Double Knot performances videos punch stronger for me than MVs. Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction! 🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏
That’s it you’re now one of my most favorite skz reactors on youtube. It’s so so fun to see ppl react the same way to skz music as i do. I would love to break some bones bopping to Side Effects during their concert fr fr.
What i love abt them is they also always have something to say. And it feels much more genuine as they’re the one one writing everything.
I felt like I had a heartattack when I first listened to Side Effects, so yes relatable. It's Psytrance, so it's meant to have a serious effect. Also this song made me a Stay on first listen because I needed more
Omg, first I laughed when you said this sounded happier. But when you threw yourself at the wall, I lost it.
Dude, I love your reactions. Just love them
Love your reactions Teddy, More Stray Kids pleaseeee ❤️ must check OUT their DISTRICT 9 mv, EASY mv, DOUBLE KNOT mv, CHEESE mv and DOMINO unveil track mv... THE RAPS 🙆♀️🙅♀️ ALL FIREEEEEEEEEE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
yesss pleaase! but also the full song for DOMINO
Omg I'm finally early! I love watching your reactions they are always super amazing! Lol the part when you jumped into the wall-
They get me hyped every single time!!!
Now that you’ve seen both God’s Menu and Side Effects, you can check out their Kingdom: Legendary War performance where they did a mashup of the two. Kingdom was a survival show they were on last year with 5 other kpop groups.
I NEED to see you reacting to the tortoise and the hare , it's INSANE
I love your Skz reactions SO much! They make me so happy cus You react the same way I díd ahhahaa , I used to listen mostly Death metal and was never interested in kpop... and when I found this kids they blew my mind!!!! I love the fact You can actually apareciate the details in production, lyrics & topics they work with,I'm so happy to see people enjoy music
HELP WHY DID YOU RUN INTO THE WALL IM CRYING
HAHAHAH
hey man loving the reactions, you would really want to give ‘we go’ a listen from stray kids. they only use three members here consisting of bangchan who is australian changbin and han. they explore loads of flows but there isn’t a music video. you can watch a lyric video instead.
Whoever recemended this song, I43!!!
Thank you for reacting this iconic 3RACHA's ♡
I'm 1 year behind the hype, but yeaahh!
I need this reaction and I love this ♡
HAHAHHAHHA ISTG You never know what stray kids is going to pull out!
I have this song on my running playlist. Has me running like mad.
the way you just jumped at the wall represented the whole fandom tbh
“This looks and sounds like it’s gonna be a lot happier” well well well
Teddy Grey, you can slam yourself against the wall anytime! Happier huh? lol...little did you know back then. Great reactions! I like your channel.
I never noticed the "World of Pure Imagination" similarity and oh my god I can't UNhear it 😵🥰
Bruh straight up jumped onto his wall 😂😭
this is the only valid way to ever react to side effects and im begging and praying chan sees it
Not him throwing himself against the wall 🤣🤣 side effects is one of my favorite songs
Been stay since 2019 and this was one of their first song i heared that got me into them!
my favorite song
i'm amazed by how quickly you notice little details that new fans won't always pick up on. like, how you immediately knew there was an extra person in the group within like three seconds of the mv starting lol.
Throwing yourself to the wall it’s so wild yet so valid og
You should check out The Tortoise and the Hare next! It's so weird, funny, unique and creative! It's not everyone's cup of tea but as bangchan says "if stays like it, it doesn't matter"
I think :
All five first songs of the <ODDINARY> album are connected by one theme - struggle with society.
"VENOM" - the theme is the fight against a society that entangles you in a web from which it is impossible to get out. You get into it voluntarily. This is the global Internet, computer games, selfies and filming, toxic relationships, getting into which you cannot get out and much more..
At the end of the song, the characters deliberately close the door from the inside, not trying to get out.You have no chance and desire to get out.
"MANIAC" - free your inner maniac, do not be dependent on the opinion of society. Do what you think is right - your music.
"Charmer" - you have become yourself and compose your own music and captivate the audience, they come to you.
"FREEZE" - you are fighting the poison that society makes. This poison penetrates you and you lose the ability to resist. You find the manufacturer and destroy the poison. First of all, fight with yourself.
"Lonely St." - is a long lonely road to knowing yourself and uniting with like-minded people.
The last two songs are unit songs.
"Waiting For Us" 4 vocalists (Bang Chan, Lee Know, Seungmin, I.N) - the song for Fandom Stay
"Muddy Water" 4 rappers (Changbin, Hyunjin, HAN, Felix) - the song pays tribute to old school rap😊
"This looks and sounds like it's gonna be happier" bruh when I first heard this I was in a trance HAHAHAH
Side Effects is one of my favorite songs ever and I will be sending Bang Chan the bill for any future heart problems from these beats
During lockdown last year a bunch of amazing KPop groups competed against each other as entertainment for their global fanbases. The show was called KINGDOM: LEGENDARY WAR (I'll leave you to speculate who won!) and the sets and level of skill on show from all the groups was incredible. They had different themes each week. In "mash-up two of your own songs" week, Stray Kids combined SIDE EFFECTS and GOD'S MENU. Now that you know both songs, give it a try - less about listening to and more about the spectacle of their live performances! Give it a go here ruclips.net/video/MIeOEqGZopw/видео.html
Yo Side Effects is a fucking banger, my favourite SKZ song. I recommend The Tortoise and The Hare if you're looking for more SKZ, love your very British reactions lmao
Same i just want to run and screaaamm ahhhhhhhhhhhh
I highly highly recommend you watch Thunderous by them
Its one of their newest songs and in my top 3 skz songs
Thank u teddy for appreciating SKZ music and also the meaning of their songs.
SKZ always makes superb music with a meaningful lyrics
Theyre their own producer.
the thing I like when I watch your reaction is you always get the messages that the kids deliver
Skz is pronounced Skizz--"Stray Kids" is hard for Koreans to say. What to listen to next? Easy, Double Knot, District 9, Grrr, Yayaya, Domino, Slump, The Tortoise and the Hare, and their Kingdom: Legendary War performances. If you are ever up for a twisted Christmas song, try Christmas Evel. They had 9 members until late 2019, so their sound is a bit different on the older ones. I think you'd especially like District 9.
Kingdom: Legendary War was a competition show last year under virus protocols with 6 idol "boy" groups. Live filmed performances with incredible camera work, the other groups' performances were also amazing. My Skz picks in order of viewing: the mash-up of Side Effects/God's Menu first, then their cover of BTOB's "I'll Be Your Man" (they turned a love ballad into a song for storming Hell), then their cover/mash-up of Blackpink's Ddu Du Ddu Du (watch the original first) to become God's Ddu Du Ddu Du. The episodes where all 6 groups formed two superteams produced some great performances; Stray Kids was in the Mayfly performances, but the other group, It's One, also had cool ones. The two big groups competed in rap, dance and vocals. Both raps are great--Bobby from Ikon was in the It's One performance, (Full Dash) and he's legendary in kpop rap. Mayfly did Playing with Paint for rap, and the Mayfly dance was a cover of Exo's Wolf. The vocal performances are both ballad/love songs, not sure you'd like them but the Mayfly Love Poem is becoming a mini legend itself. You have to reverse and/or transparentize the video for Kingdom reactions since they block a lot for copyright. There are versions of the videos that include reactions from the other groups that are watching, or just the performance. There are no subtitles for the actual performances, just for the watcher's reactions, so for the raps, you might want to do a two-video reaction, to the color coded lyrics first, then to the performance (with or without reactions, but the reactions can be fun, the groups are all in costume for their performances and full of adrenaline, so they are having a blast). For the non-supergroup performances, I'd recommend the video without reactions, and no real need for the lyrics videos.
Aside from that, I'm fond of their earliest work. (Yes, they keep getting better, but they set the bar high from the start) They released several songs "pre-debut" which are amazingly good. Hellevator was their first release, from October 2017. It was made to promote the survival show that determined if they could keep the original line-up of the group, and they also released 4 or 5 tracks that they created and performed on the show. The ones I like the most, with their harder edged sound, are Grrr and Yayaya. Their official debut song is District 9, from March 2018, and it is fiiiiirrrrre. It has their hallmark creative use of found sounds, great beats and beat changes, and lots of musical tension.
‘This looks and sounds like it’s going to be a lot happier’
literally two seconds later ….
Once again commenting before it even started! Saw you jump against the wall on twitter and came on youtube right away to see what great reaction you have done again!
Journey down the rabbit hole of your old reactions continues!
You know I was just saying yesterday that when Woojin is there it looks like there are like a million more people there. It's so weird how one extra person changes the visual so much! I know that's not really what you were referring to here, but it reminded me. Haha :)
I wasn't planning to watch this just yet but the title got me 😭😭
one of the things that made me stay (pun not intended but welcome) and fall in love with stray kids was how they've always talked about mental health in their music - since the very first released song that started out their journey as skz, hellevator. i always pay a lot of attention to lyrics and for me, they can make or break the song. it's also why side effects is one of my favourite songs of theirs. but also it just fucking slaps.
love your reactions, dude. i, too, throw myself at the wall when i listen to side effects. big mood, as they say
THE BEST STRAY KIDS SONG EVER!
I have been loving your SKZ reactions and absolutely love that you are reacting to a lot of their older stuff. There are some real gems in their older music and this is by far one of my favorites so I was stoked to see you reacting to it! This is a song that needs more love from everyone!!!!!!❤️
In this music, there is Woojin. Stray Kids debuted in 2018 with 9 members (Woojin, Bang Chan, Changbin, Lee Know, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N), but Woojin left in 2019 due to personal reasons, and now there are only 8. So yes, there are more people then usual.
Stray kids has melted his brain! Yelling himself into walls!
LOL " i'm thinking it's the producer is F* ing with me" dude they are the producer 😂😂😂
i can see your passion in music, my new favourite reactors indeed !!
Miroh next!!! Loved your reaction, absolutely adore this song!!
Waahhh they way you yeet yourself everytime you get excited is always funny and your reactions to them is always priceless, love this..Looking forward to more skz reactions.new subscriber here😊
I started rolling when u vibing to the beat while both hand moving back and forth 😂! Dope man, love your reaction!!!
This MV has no flaws. I love
2:58 Every Stay can relate the hype that skz songs gives ahahah
If ypu haven't and are able to watch their mvs in order of their discography there is Lore throughout the stories and goes through the journey of stray kids so far. They are big mental health advocates and being true to yourself even if it's hard, they'll be on that journey with you kinda thing
I love your visceral reactions.
Years of Joy here.. My NO. 1 of all STRAYKIDS SONGS in my LIST.. ♥️"SIDE EFFECT"♥️ deeeeeeeeeeeeym.. GLAD your LOVING this .
I laughed when you said this sounds like it's going be happier LOL The rest of us were like 'NOPE' wait for it 😅
I enjoy your SKZ reactions more each time I listen. Thank you so much.
I really really hope Chan saw this reaction and all of your SKZ+ reactions. Your content 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
