I think if you help the prop down a bit it would have a big difference. If the prop was heavier, it would provide the pressure to stop a lot of the rattling. But I get it and this is a good demo.

Can you help me what type of damper what you used at the last experiment?

Maybe you could offer some suggestions. I'm looking to isolate a audio spring reverb FX unit that must be placed on my desk. Vibration from me playing the keys on my audio synths are causing the spring tank in the reverb unit to shake. I need to decouple the unit.

Sorry for the late reply. I wasn't expecting comments. It might be easier to isolate your synth if it is sitting on your desk that to isolate the FX unit. The vibration from hitting the keys is an impact that could be reduced with a couple pieces of closed cell neoprene. I am not sure how that would affect playing the synth, but it is generally easier to treat the source of the vibration and not the target. Cheers.

Not a fair comparison of rubber versus spring isolators. If the elastomeric (Neoprene) isolators were selected closer to their max load rating they would perform much better. Also, elastomeric isolators don't resonate as springs do as they have much higher internal damping.
