    • @BeautyWithin
      @BeautyWithin  Год назад +65

Yes! Sunsticks are a convenient way to reapply over your makeup, which is what I did in the reapplications and so depending on each stick formulation it will suit a different skin type :) I find it easier to reapply using these sticks that lotion sunscreens so thought I'd show you all how they look and feel 😊 - Fel x

@@BeautyWithin Thanks Fel. I feel that sunsticks are, in a way, re-locking all the dirt and bacteria that had built up throughout the day when repplied over your makeup. And of course once you apply it on to the stick all those dirt and bacteria stays on the stick too, I guess you could just wipe it off but it's more the face that puts me off the idea of sunscreen re-applications. What's your thought on this? x

This video was so helpful tysm for making it!!!💕 when in your skincare/makeup routine do you recommend using sunscreen for the first application? This always confused me a lot as someone with super oily skin that doesn't agree with most sunscreens. Also, do sunscreens replace makeup primer? I rely on my primer heavily for oil control so not using it scares me a little lol.
I really love and appreciate your oily skin videos, they're super helpful! Especially since most advice is from dry to normal skin ppl and it just... isn't the same. Makes me trust the advice more when it's coming from someone who actually has oily skin. Would you possibly do an updated skincare routine and tips video? There are so many products that it gets overwhelming trying to pick what to use when just one being wrong can lead to an oil spill on my face 😳

    • @cecebristan7175

yes, sunscreen is the last step in your skincare routine but the first step before you do your makeup. I have oily skin and after applying sunscreen, I set my sunscreen with some translucent powder and then apply foundation. Doesn't make me oily and help my foundation stays longer! Just make sure your translucent powder is very fine so your foundation finish is not patchy. I tried many primers and don't use primer anymore. I don't find primer helpful for my skin and it makes my makeup move around too much, strangely. To reduce oil production, you can also skip washing your face with cleanser in the morning and just rinse your face with some water! This works wonder for me and I have been doing it for a few years now. I hope these tips are helpful for you!

I don't use sticks unless I'm in a pinch, but lately I've been really liking the Abib Airy (the one in the tan tube), and I just ordered the Nature Republic one. Looking forward to it.
That Cerave one went in the trash for me. I tried to convince myself that I'd use it for beach days but I just couldn't do it. I actually love their Ultra Light Lotion SPF 30 SPF moisturizer, but all their standalone sunscreens are terribly greasy, shiney, and/or white-cast-y on me.
I love my UV camera. It doesn't tell you anything about the actual level of protection but it's great to check that you got product everywhere (or got it all off at the end of the day).

My eyes have a tendency to tear in the wind and that can move my lotion sunscreen around and cause stinging. Lab Muffin talked about trying a stick sunscreen in the eye area because it might stay in place better. I tried the Abib Quick Sunstick SPF 50+ PA++++. I used the #1 clear Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel SPF50+ PA ++++ for my first application and then the Abib stick when I reapply my sunscreen (if I reapply the Canmake my eyes sting). The Abib sunstick has worked for me, but it is more glowy than matte. FYI, I have mature skin that is more dry than normal and I have rosacea.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Soleil Toujours Clean Conscious Set + Protect Micro Mist Sunscreen SPF 30, though it is a bit pricey. It has no real scent, doesn't make me look shiny, & the ease of application/reapplication is great. I am definitely going to try the AHC sun stick though, because it's always nice to have a backup.

I have the CeraVe stick, which I purchased prior to going cruelty-free, and the white cast is REALLY intense. The texture is a little grainy, too. I’m pale, and it shows up white on me :( It’s the perfect size for my bag, though, so I sometimes end up just running errands with a slightly white painted face 😂 Also, it’s a NO on going over makeup. 😢

I liked the Abib and Scinic ones so far, and also shiseido. I use them on my neck and chest and shoulders. For face I prefer a mist for reapplying

I love sunscreen sticks, and I get that with some, the product would be so visible if not massaged into the face further, but I just think it totally defeats the whole purpose of the convenient stick form of a sunscreen if I still have to massage the product in after swiping. Like the whole point for sunscreen sticks (for me) is I didn’t want to have to touch my face with my hands midday😭

Are there any effects we should be worried about if we mix lotion sunscreens and stick sunscreens? For example, if we apply a lotion sunscreen at the beginning of the day and apply a stick sunscreen later on, is it bad? And what if the two sunscreens are of different brands?

I've used the darker blue AHC and the same variant in the video for my second stick (I like this one better but purely based on preference, both variants are good!) and it works just fine for me (Same for me it doesn't move your makeup around and has a comfortable feel on the skin). Using it for reapplication throughout the day but my main sunscreen in the morning is the cream one from Beauty of Joseon. Might try their sunstick as well!

I bought the Tocobo one recently with High hopes that I can use it over makeup. But unfortunately it dissapointed me. My skin is mixed so after a few hours it gets oily in certain areas which ofcourse also pushes the makeup out. So since Tocobo says that it mattifying and is doesn't move makeup around I thought I found a gem product. But I was very wrong, as I swatched it over the skin most of the makeup was removed. It indeed makes your skin matte but that's all. It also adds layers of product which in the end looks like a heavy tacky makeup look.
I was also worried that these sun sticks harbor bacteria which is not very friendly with an acne prone skin.

Work the stick in with my skin unless I’m using this on a day where I need a convenient option. Otherwise may as well use a lotion.
