I faced this issue with my ubuntu 18.04 system.
If you are having same issue, please follow the steps and let me know if i could have helped you or not.

Dear Omkar, thank you very much for your very helpful tutorial. It helped me to solve the same problem! In my case it was stacked on the session C12, even earlier than in your case. Computer is AMD based laptop from HP. Processor is A8 and video is Radeon.
I also followed your advice and did a backup before procedure... At the and all is working, and now I have a backup as well. You know, we are all very lazy to make backups, but here, of course, I got scared. So it turned out even doubly good, now I am with a working system and with a backup. :))

I have same problem while starting c1 session of user gdm.
But i didn't get any window of asking to type f1 for continue..

Why does this error happen ? Is it normal? What if recovery doesn't work because I myself see a black screen with cursor blinking after entering recovery mode😢
I could get to the menu shown at 5:15, I did press OK and it got black screen, but you got the desktop and I 'm still waiting.
I am also having a black screen since long.

Hi buddy, there was no any kind of data lost in my system. Everything was as it is. While doing this my main focus was not to loose my data as it was damn precious for me though.
