    Recently upgraded to ubuntu 19.10 from 19.04 and it would keep freezing whenever booted. This solved my problem. Many thanks 👍.
    It works like a dream now.

    Had a similar problem after upgrading to Kubuntu 19.04 - the system would boot into a black screen (past the Kubuntu logo). Pressing ctrl + alt + f2 to Switch to a terminal screen, then loging in & installing the latest proprietary Nvidia driver solved the issue.
    Sucks that it required a proprietary driver. But I thought I'd post this in case anyone else was having this issue.

    • @Itsfoss
      @Itsfoss  5 лет назад +1

      I mentioned the proprietary driver method. Actually, I recommended the grub change method to avoid the use of proprietary driver.

    I'm trying to boot from a USB to install Linux and having this problem. Unfortunately, pressing 'e' does nothing. Do you have any other suggestions? Pressing 'e' only seems to work on computers that aren't having trouble booting in the first place.

    I faced a similar issue while my system got stuck after booting . Got a dialogue saying "System policy prevents modification of network settings for all users" . keyboard and trackpad was frozen ...... I searched a lot tried different things ........ Finally it got resolved by using an external mouse 😊.... I cancelled the dialogue and logged in successfully 🎉

    But why did that happen ? (I just opened the computer , I found it with a panel showing message "Good bye" with 3 options (probably it was on sleep state, I don't know what exactly it was), and without investing on it I just clicked on reboot option, and now I am stuck here. Thank God I reached to your video .(life saving)

    This works partially. After I've added the 'nomodest' to grub, yes, my laptop boots nicely, but I'm now having problems with the external HDMI monitor. I've read some posts where it is suggested to remove the 'nomodeset' which allows the external HDMI monitor but brings back again the boot problem ... any other idea??

    My Linux gets stuck after I login. It just shows an empty desktop with the lynux logo. But no apps show there's nothing I can select it's just an empty desktop with the Linux logo. any help would be great I don't know what to do. I reinstalled and just keep stopping at this empty desktop. Then if I hit return it just takes me to a blank empty purple desktop. The Linux desktop transitions up and offer the page when I hit return and it reveals a purple desktop with nothing on it.

    I'm presently attempting to get Linux Mint to boot on a new PC build. The only thing I can load is the compatibility mode. Upon restart it flashed a small block of text very quickly. Then the monitor says "no display". I've tested the distro on an older computer and it loaded fine. An internet search produces your recommended cure. It doesn't work for my installation. Ubuntu and Zorin won't install either. I'll go through your video again to make sure I didn't miss something. Thanks.
