  • Teledyne-FLIR introduced its new Hadron 640R integration module at the 2022 AUVSI Xponential Show in Orlando. The unit includes a radiometric thermal camera with a resolution of 640x512 pixels, paired with a visible light camera capable of capturing 64 megapixel still images. The unit is intended to be sold to robotics and drone manufacturers, to be integrated into their platforms. Weighing just 56 grams, it is compatible with and includes drivers to interface with the Nvidia Jetson Nano, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and the Snapdragon RB5.

Would be nice to have something that the consumer can buy and put on something thay already have.

I agree, but I think the industry has pretty much moved irrevocably away from that model... Even when you do get interchangeable payloads (like DJI and Autel Robotics) they all have to be payloads that the company themselves produced or partnered in producing...

@@Roswellflighttestcrew1947 It would be really nice to be able to incorporate this module into an ArduPilot drone. Since they have drivers for the Jetson Nano, I'd think it shouldn't be too hard for a hobbyist to add one to a drone. I like to think I could do something like this myself but I'm just not ready to pay the $3.5K (yet).
I've thought a lot about this module since this video's release.
Thanks for letting us know about all this cool tech *RFTC.*

Thermals seem to be pretty restricted. They won't give out the drivers to run them and many are ITAR restricted which basically means military and police only

I think it's closer to $63 per gram. It's still expensive though.

I generally don't price hardware like illegal drugs -- but it's an interesting perspective...
