We need more wildlife corridors, places for animals to cross from one habitat to the next without coming into conflict with people. This example is both good and bad. On the one hand, it gives us an opportunity to further study these magnificent creatures. On the other hand, habituating animals to people can lead to more conflict. I come from Zambia. We had mango tree in our garden too growing up (but no elephants). Although mangos grow well in the climate here, mangos are not "ancestral" food for these animals. Its not native to the region. Mangos are fruit from India transplanted to Africa relatively recently by human horticulturalists. This is a human cultivated garden the elephants are raiding. Mango trees wouldn't have been there before the lodge. It's a rare treat. They don't find such fruit in the wild. So you can discount the "old elephant trail" tale. The Luawanga valley is replete with elephants, so you can say everything is a trail. But this is just a good ol' mango-raiding party. This particular group simply figured out mangos could be found in the lodge garden and when they're in season. Definite trespassing.
In India where Asian elephants live, yes it is eating wild mangoes but I agree it’s not ancestral to African elephants to eat mangoes. But African elephants are only tasked to find any vegetable fruit food they can see and find.

Elephants considered ONE of the most powerful animals in Africa. What a ridiculous and careless statement. It is undoubtedly, unquestioningly the most powerful land mammal in the world.
@MyShepherd23 And I'm sure your God is SO very pleased with what man has done to the earth. Why don't you go and explain your theory to the elephants and see how they react. Take some large brushes with you so they can clean you out from between their toes afterwards. Oh, and don't forget your book so you can point out the relevant verses to them before they stomp on you.
while inside the lodge grounds the elephants are well protected as it's walled off hence why the elephants go through the "archway", also the further away from the lodge the elephants get the more protective they get.. it's only at the lodge they seem to let their hair down and relax
Not so sweet. I'm sorry but its the same as white christians enroaching african land meant for african ppl n pushing them to poverty and those locals can do nothing other than watching, like these poor elephants.
+ROBIN SHANE Not exactly. They travel through there each year, but many animals establish territories and none of them give a flip about what other animals happen to have claimed the area. What he was getting at was they're intelligent enough to realize they're coming into an established "nest" or habitat, and being of a peaceful temperament this family decided that rather than attack the people who built a habitat around the mangoes they'd just make it clear that they didn't care either way; as long as these strangers don't bother them or interfere with their lunch, they wouldn't interfere with their new neighbors' choice of home.
I just returned from visiting Tarangire and Sarengetti national parks in Tanzania. The elephants in the northern Serengetti were much much more wary of humans and made sounds of alarm upon seeing us, also because they had a nursing baby with them. We stayed still and quiet and they moved off. In Tarangire however, both the bachelor groups and Matriarch led herd were very used to our guide, particularly his smell and voice. The boldest in each group would approach within 2-3 m and extend their trunks while others less curious napped with their trunks held up on a tusk, or a friendly neighbor, magical.
I'm truly amazed by these elephants'. They show an immense amount of trust to allow humans near this baby. In this case the trust was deserved. They knew this was a safe place because elephants never forget anything. That being said, please don't say they encroached on the humans' because the humans put this building upon the elephants' ancient path.
Right!!! And they did their business and left. And the people were smart enough to realize these were not pet elephants but wild animals looking for food. You observe from a safe place and than God you got the opportunity of a lifetime because the elephants remember the path to their favorite mango trees and are ready for a treat.
You need park rangers to keep elephants away from poachers Becuz once an elephant gets a lot of passiveness from humans. Elephants think that all humans are peaceful without knowing they will be killed by poachers.
So beautiful! Lets all hope that some ignorant, aggressive, entitled tourist doesn't do something so mindbogglingly stupid to ruin it for Elephants and Humans alike!!
This place should be buzzing with business. They should have also put some water on the counter or a big bucket on the floor. Just one word springs to mind "wow"! I so love elephants and it's incumbent upon humans to continue to do all we can to protect, conserve space for these animals and all other animals, land, water or air.
The people who wrote this are so dramatic, elephants are not that deadly they don’t just attack for no reason. Majority of the time when they do attack it’s either a young bull in heat or a mom being protective. They have great memory and if an attack is unprovoked they’ve probably been bothered by humans before and are scared it will happen again.

Little one also there. Little one wants water it seems and jeep ride too. Very adorable lovely elephants. God bless and protect all the innocent souls in this universe, by the way, they are real guest's, most auspiciou and genuine ! Noble work, kudos to hotel management !
Elephants considered ONE of the most powerful animals in Africa. What a ridiculous and careless statement. It is undoubtedly, unquestioningly the most powerful land mammal in the world.
The elephants haven't encroached on the humans space. The humans have encroached on the elephants space.
Well, the elephants need to learn to get good
The elephants need to learn how to not get their territory taken by those humans then.
If that’s the case why did the elephants let them take it?
@MyShepherd23 And I'm sure your God is SO very pleased with what man has done to the earth. Why don't you go and explain your theory to the elephants and see how they react. Take some large brushes with you so they can clean you out from between their toes afterwards. Oh, and don't forget your book so you can point out the relevant verses to them before they stomp on you.
What a wonderful experience to have. Elephants are such beautiful creatures. We need to protect them.
And it's a Bush Hunting lodge😞
I'm worried about poachers..
They love when elephants don't fear humans, easier to shoot
while inside the lodge grounds the elephants are well protected as it's walled off hence why the elephants go through the "archway", also the further away from the lodge the elephants get the more protective they get.. it's only at the lodge they seem to let their hair down and relax
@@duomaxwell2293 Did you watch the video?
Oh baby Wellington needs a nap😂 looks like a hotel front desk like uh ya can we get two rooms please
I think that is so sweet because they don't have to pay a thing. The check-in and check-out to eat I love watching the elephants
Not so sweet. I'm sorry but its the same as white christians enroaching african land meant for african ppl n pushing them to poverty and those locals can do nothing other than watching, like these poor elephants.
The only mistake in the commentary when he stated the elephants came into the human territory. We encroached on theirs.
Thank you for your input.
ROBIN SHANE agreed!
Again, this is Africa. Humans and elephants have been sharing these lands for tens of thousands of years.
NEVER EVER USE FLASH WHILE TAKING PIC OF WILD ANIMALS THEY TEND TO BE PISSED
same with many humans
YOU BETTER CALL THEM UP AND INFORM THEM OF YOUR EXPERTISE IN THE MATTER BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!
Why do I feel like you are speaking from an experience
@@futureshock382 good point on a much more dangerous animal!
Raj, besides opinion, conjecture, and speculation, do you have any proof of that?
I didn’t think so.
Oh, in regard to shouting; STFU.
*Elephant drops rocks on counter*
"Keep the change my friend"
2:20 "they had encroached on a human area" sorry wot? at the start of the video it clearly states that it was built over an ancient elephant path
0:28 imaging checking in at the hotel and have to wait in line behind an elephant 😂
Photographer: "this could be really dangerous!"... then takes a picture with flash.
Haha, right?!
do you have any proof of that?
@@sludge4125 proof of what? the flash? 3:01

Such beautiful animals. I know they can be dangerous but they need to be protected at all costs 🥰
They showed up like
"Exuse us!"
"Don't mind me, I was told some mangoes grow here!"
People continue to astound me, why would the Elephants change course when the buildings are big enough to fit through? It's to much hard work.
Wow, they're majestic creatures, beautiful!
Amazing! I love Elephants, they are soooooo intelligent.
Hi Sharon Schaffhauser Elephants is GREAT! Don’t miss more of our Elephants videos like ruclips.net/video/EQLoMkwIiKc/видео.html
Sharon Schaffhauser Not
They were like,
“Sure you can build your lodge here, but we get to use the main hall when we take the family fruit picking.”
I will travel to zambia just to experience this spectacle one day!
When they stopped for the baby to.have a nap it was so great
So beautiful!
