The Disney CEO makes 27 million dollars a year. If you took all of that money and divided it up among Disney’s 160,000 employees, that would total $169 per employee for an entire year. CEO salary is not the issue.

You don’t care. And you’re not the world spokeswoman here for everyone else. Many actors aren’t Gal Gadots or Dwayne Johnson’s here. They are people who have had to take extra jobs outside the acting industry in order to manage a living. Yet you indicate they are spoiled, even though they are not .
It's been quoted that 87% of SAG-AFTRA members didn't even make enough acting ($28,000) to qualify for their health insurance. The majority of the people that write the shows and act in them have second jobs to make a living... they don't make tons of money.

The actor and writer strike carries the risk of inadvertently increasing the use of AI in Hollywood. While the strike is primarily about fair compensation and worker rights, one of the major concerns voiced by the actors is the potential threat of artificial intelligence to their profession. However, the prolonged strike and the disruption it causes to the industry could inadvertently push studios towards relying more heavily on AI technology.
It is not really about money but the deadlines and work that they put in when CEOs are collecting the most profit. I do believe that this will affect other industries and AI will replace jobs and the rest of us will have to find a different way of living
They are by the job, and not hourly or salary workers. They are tradesmen no longer in the feast phase now in the famine phase and will not get better. Struggling Studio's are being bought up by the bigger ones which means less jobs and less people.

Lol these “writers” don’t deserve any cent. Have you been watching movies or shows lately? They all suc. All woke and lazy movies and shows and are not good anymore
Yes - they should start their own companies and pay workers everything!!’ Utopia!
if you want creativity, art, or artistry, don't look at Hollywood. These "creatives" deserve what they are getting
Sure.
We watch actors and writers; not watch CEO's and executives.
Let Hollywood and all of their cronies crumble away. They haven’t put out anything good in over a decade.
To be honest, the strike really doesn't concern me. With the progression of AI, regular people can generate their own content. Let Hollywood crumble.
Yep. And in a few years, things will be so radically different, you'll be able to come home and make your own movie starring yourself and any actor you like. It will generate in seconds, and will look better, sound better, and be an overall better experience than anything presently existing.
I’m all for the rights of the actors and writers but everyone is forgetting the crew members that this is crippling. Because of the greed crew members are forced to exhaust saving and find other job. I seriously doubt that the actors and writers will have to find other work in different industries. Where is the protection and help for the crew members. And before someone says anything yes I’m an crew member.
Without writers there wouldn’t be any jobs for crew members. Also, I’m sure you can find other jobs…
Crew members need this too it sets a precedent that large production companies should be able to pay living wages. If they don’t even care about the people on screen what makes you think they care about the people behind the screen
Sound of freedom comes out and then this
I think Hollyweird's 2023 tailspin began when Super Mario tsunamied its way to the top!
Well, who needs Hollywood when China, Turkey, S korea and RUSSIA are making much better movies than horrywood these days
There is an entire world of media content that is NOT tied up with Hollyweird! I ain't plussed at all about this strike! 🤣🤣🤣
@davidferrari7543 Japan also makes plenty of enjoyable films and shows.
Those movies might lose something in the cultural divide, tho. Folks tend to prefer culture in entertainment that reflects their own. All those subtitles and / or 'dubbed' voice-overs would be frustrating for most viewers, over time.
Just pay them their effing fair share this is ridiculous
no one cares
OH NO WHAT WILL WE DO WITHOUT HOLLYWOOD
Be a better society
I will stand with the writers and SAG- AFTRA members in Hollywood too 👍🏿🪧
We don't need more movies we need great movies Hollywood made way to many 🎥 that I can't even count. It's All about 🤑💰. It's time to shut Holly wood down.
Frfr the amount of trauma Hollywood cause their employees sickens me.
Executive producers and actors/actress gets the phat $$$ million pay...while the writers n every other production department members gets only chump change! barely surviving check by check...
Eventually they’ll just have AI actors 😢
Everything's gonna be CGI 😭😭
Burn, Hollywood, burn!
yea now we are talking actors are in hope for the best
. . . THE TIME IS FULFILLED ----- THE " WEEK " HERE BROUGHT TO VIEW , TYPE HAD MET ANTITYPE ----- AND ALL THE SACRIFICES AND OBLATIONS OF THE CEREMONIAL SYSTEM WERE THERE TO CEASE . . .
Well we can look forward to wonderful well written Korean streaming shows in the near future.
Good I’m tired of Hollywood
They should learn to code.
This is good
No one is on the side of the big studios...............the little guy is our hope!
Nothing like not doing your job to prove that you deserve a raise😂😂😂
if the little guy is crappy writers and entitled, talentless actors, then no
@@ploppill34Yeah, thats exactly the point. A strike demonstrates the value of your labor by showing what happens when that labor is withheld.
I bet it will hurt movie theaters
go woke, go broke. The truth is: No one needs writers as AI can write that woke crap 100 times faster und 1000 times cheaper. The writers never cared for quality. That comes back to haunt them now
AI hasnt been put to the test of writing episodic TV shows and feature films, tho.
They took the credit for your second symphony, rewritten by machine and new technology, and now I understand the problem you can see.
I am no longer impositioned. Make way for grueling effects.
PAY OUR TEACHERS
Why should labor be penalized because management made poor judgments.
What is Bob Iger doing in Idaho....
Trying to hide from Ron Perlman
He's pushing potatoes up his sphincter. To raise awareness.
So CEO receive millions of bonus is realistic even the company loses hundreds of millions?
Well they haven't had a new thought in yearsssss so i am ok with the strike and the old movies and reruns that i watch ....
LET HELLYWOOD BURN
Iger, meanwhile, is expected to make $29M this year.
Why don’t your start your own company then?
@@kaseyc5078 Write what you want. But please tell me you know that your comment isn’t clever or original.
@@kaseyc5078 You do get it is just a little bit above ‘I know you are but what am i’ and ‘i’m rubber and you’re glue…’ level writing, right?
Let's round it up to an even $30 mil.
I can’t take this anymore. I just come out and say it.
ALL MY LIFE!!! All My life, I’ve movies despite how’s its good or bad. Same thing goes to Television. I am so tired of this Merging Streamers, removes the Some Disney+, and Max Movies, Cancels the seasons, and most of all… That Greedy CEOs and forced to shut down to all productions. Especially most of the Movies I’ve wanted to see:
More Episodes of Disney Channel’s Bunk’d Season 7.
Wicked Part 1 and 2.
Beetlejuice 2.
Lilo and Stitch Disney Remake.
And the Final Season of Cobra Kai.
And the REST OF THE MOVIES AND TELEVISIONS AS ALL OF US WANT TO SEE IT!!!
WE WANT THEM COMPLETED WITH WRITERS AND ACTORS!!! We support them all the way. All the way!!!
If you CEOs don’t make deal in August, not longer until October or late winter… You’ll LOSE YOUR JOBS TOO!!!
Ignore the lackluster reviews and keep filming and look forward for ALL THE WRITERS AND ALL THE ACTORS!!! Paid them fair!!! Paid them well!!! Just paid them who are trying to work so hard for you CEOS.
MAKE THE DEAL FAST!!! AND RESUME THE PRODUCTIONS!!! From T.L.
It's interesting. The studios do need to update contracts, as the game has changed. On the other hand, writers are turning out so much woke trash these days, it's nice to see them suffer
Power to the strikers. Strike as long as it takes, get what you deserve.
For what?? More crappy shows, unfunny comedies, brainless super heroes, and the 67the sequel/prequel to Star Wars?
@@12Nordseewho do you think decides what gets made? It isnt the writer or actors
Watching leftie studio bosses go at it with pampered leftie actors, is the first good piece of entertainment coming out of Hollywood in more than a decade. Love this civil war! Sick of Hollywood's garbage. I hope this goes on a long time. Keep that popcorn poppin"!
Yup. No one wants woke garbage Hollywood is pushing.
@@strandednyer7209Even plenty of Americans are souring on Hollywood as an institution! 🤣🤣🤣
Ironically Republicans hire celebrities who pretend to be politcians... 😅 Also stop making everything about politics🙄
I spent 2 hours watching breakfast with tiffanys. Anyone seen that movie?
actors get paid skyrocket rates... so why writers are barely surviving?
Youre overestimating how much actors get paid, unless theyre already an A list celebrity
Good let them all strike. No one with jobs like theirs should make that much money. Instead, public health workers and those who save lives, nurses, emts, those caring for the aging and disabled, etc. should only be making that kind of 💲... Strike until you go broke. We don't care.
The majority of the people that write the shows and act in them have second jobs to make a living... they don't make tons of money.
well said, and please include teachers. They all deserve more money and their jobs are ore important
Gonna be funny when AI comes for healthcare.
@@12Nordsee Most teachers are public employees
Good! let’s take those carbon footprint giants off line and “save the planet”!
They are all overpaid to begin with. Times are changing and acting is and has always been an ELECTIVE job.
Stop complaining and get a real job. There are plenty of people who would love to get paid up front for an acting gig and not rely on residuals

As a person who always wanted to go to Hollywood and be an actor at one point in time, Im better off just visiting the area, go to in and out burger near the airport, get a few burritos, visit a museum and move on from that greedy area. I’m better off writing a book.
Considering how bad movies and TV have been these past couple of years, perhaps they should all be replaced?
I think AI needs to be shut down so that it won’t cause problems like this one ever again
How about we go back to riding horses again instead of cars too?

The actor and writer strike carries the risk of inadvertently increasing the use of AI in Hollywood. While the strike is primarily about fair compensation and worker rights, one of the major concerns voiced by the actors is the potential threat of artificial intelligence to their profession. However, the prolonged strike and the disruption it causes to the industry could inadvertently push studios towards relying more heavily on AI technology.
Could careless, let the rich fall and terrible writers. They cannot make that kind of money anymore.
It is not really about money but the deadlines and work that they put in when CEOs are collecting the most profit. I do believe that this will affect other industries and AI will replace jobs and the rest of us will have to find a different way of living
Most of the writers and actors in the union make less than a middle-class income.
They are by the job, and not hourly or salary workers. They are tradesmen no longer in the feast phase now in the famine phase and will not get better. Struggling Studio's are being bought up by the bigger ones which means less jobs and less people.
I hope you are not watching any shows ever, past or present or watching any form of IP entertainment. Because if you are, your words are worthless.
Remember tv remember commercials remember reruns with commercials remember vhs/dvd sales. These shows and movies no longer have that, which means the money that used to be there no longer is. They are trying to get money that just isn't there anymore. I am not for not paying what is fair but the signs were there and now it is too late the game has changed.
I’m planning to remake the who tommy and use active footage of John entwistle, Keith moon from the original movie and signing but I wonder what some who fans would say , and I bet roger daltrey and Pete would say no don’t do that . I guess I’ll have to figure out another way
