You asked for this video so here it is!! 😁 A deep dive into my camping food storage organization. I hope it's helpful. Comment below if you enjoyed it ☀️
I see you finally got a new tote! I like the clips on the lid. Great vid as always ❤️
We use a food bin too and our plastic tote is always broken by the end of a season. Do you have a good quality brand you recommend? I want to upgrade to something more heavy duty. Links appreciated
Would be great to see the content if your other tub 😁
This is much better than my current (non)system of grocery bags and random items shoved haphazardly into a bear locker 😂
yea this might make things a little easier 😂
Why did I never think of a little clip for my tea bags. Genius!
Hello Amanda, thank you for sharing this fine video. You're certainly well organized. All the best to you. Stay healthy. 🤗
Thank you Ronald!
I have used the reusable shopping bag method for a decade, and things fall out, get moved all over the car, and honestly I just need to invest in a bin. We are clown car while car camping and bags were easier to fit, but I think this method works much better.
My sister hipped me to the idea of a pantry bin for camping. Great video! I'm a bin within a bin kind of gal as well 🤓 It's almost car camping season here in Kentucky....so excited! 🏕
So glad there's someone else who appreciates my bin within a bin level of organization 😂
Today, I bought a container for my pantry container bin. I was in Target thinking... I am sure I am making Amanda Outside proud!
I'm heading off to Target to get my food bin! 😁
That's were I got mine. I really like it!
Wow that is awesome camping! Very nice video, really enjoyed watching it! Regards from Russian winter camping! Yury!
Don't stress on being a little OCD with your pantry (bin within a bin). I've been doing ALL forms of camping forever and my mantra is "Organization is the key to sucess".
It really is! Getting organized goes such a long way in making camping easier and more relaxing! 😁
You really have some of the best videos. We have some great food we would love for you to try! Let us know if you're interested.
I like the idea of staying so organized from the get-go, so that you're not spending camping/hiking time just preparing for the trip. I need that peaceful, non-hurried weekend to get through the week! ;-)
That's so true! This definitely makes the preparation much easier and less stressful!
I have the same bin for camping, also keeps the raccoons out!
..I have a similar tote packed with a variety of different brands of backpacking meals ,breakfast and dinners , and a bunch of the easy prep (boil water mixes ,ie; Idahoan mashed potato mixes ,a few different ones as well as the Idahoan soup mixes,Bear Creek soup mixes and a bunch of the knorr rice sides of different offerings) ,, I keep it filled and in the pantry area for use at home as well ,, but when off road or truck camping I just take the entire tote .. really helps if unexpected people decide to show up.. or I decide on staying out extra days ,,always more than enough,, then restock next time at market ... Makes it easier than trying to set a meal plan and sort through all the packages ..and a sturdy tote packs well with other gear..
Usually the first or second night would be a luxury meal like steak and baked potato or something like that... So much of this stuff has gotten easier to work with and tastes pretty good too..
So a grab of the tote and a cooler with items needing chilled ,,a couple 5 gallon water containers and meal prep is good to go ...
OMG!!! I love those bins!!!! My most used is beach bun!!! 🏝
Yay! I'm so glad. They definitely make things so much easier and organized. I love it!
Yes! Loved this video, thank you!
You are so welcome!
How are you in shorts Amanda??? It's like snowing here in Bend, OR... OMG!!!! :(
haha the southern Utah desert is getting hot!! I am so excited for spring ☀️
Hi Amanda, I want to switch over to clear bins. For years I have been using black bins. What brand of bins do you use? Thanks
I really needed compartments in my pantry box so I use a wine box inside. It really keeps individual packets like bars, electrolytes, teas, etc organized. So I guess I am THAT person too! 😄
i do this exactly and i also have a bin for cookware items. Just get a bunch of bins for everything lol it really helps you know where things are later. Great Channel!
I just discovered your channel and absolutely love all your videos! Even though I've been camping and hiking for years I have gotten so many great ideas and inspiration from you. Thanks for all of your great content!
Wonderful ideas! Thanks.
That’s a beautiful bin!
What size bin do you use to put everything in?
Did anyone else try to swipe the fly? ha ha!
I have the same honey but the Northeast version! I really like that honey brand. Great video! I’m a new subscriber and I’ve been enjoying your videos.
Thank you for subscribing and welcome to the channel! That honey is so good!
I am loving your videos.
at 4.50 in your video. I understand that feeling. Go girl. I just subscribed.
I use old ice chest for dry foods now..
very informative, love it...thanks!!! 😀🙏
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for commenting 😁
Hello Amanda, great idea to use bins. You are very organized. I am the opposite. I just throw stuff in the trunk of my car. Take Care.
I love this idea. My only issue is I have a small car and it is hard to fit everything in there. I will be making a small one just like this.
This definitely works with smaller bins too!
I love your videos. Always over packing and I get frustrated tripping all over my gear in the back of my truck. Thanks for helping me simplify. Your amazing
I think I saw it as you put away your pantry bin, but can you do a video on how you store everything else (eg pots, plates)? TIA!
I always had a camping box! That's what we called it... We had a camp kitchen and I also used one of those plastic storage containers w/drawers, for my plates, silverware, and cooking utensils, etc... Real similar to your Pantry Bin.
Love the bin in bin combo! And bonus when they fit together so well! Great video and tips!
Thanks so much! Glad someone else out there appreciates the bin within a bin level of organization 😂
BINGO !!! well done, I put a paper n pencil in my food tote n write down what I use, that's kinda like a 'shopping list' for me when I get home, I refill my food tote. clean out my cookgear tote and replace the newspaper liner (old one squished into charcoal bag for fire lighter) and I clean my cookgear, grease it and put it in the tote.. ready for next time.
Thank you for sharing your tips I will be adding your tips for my next camping trip
Such a great channel! I watch quite a few of these to live vicariously when not camping and to get tips. Your channel has videos that are some of the most practical and helpful, I’m glad I found it! Btw, I have bins within bins as well so this is super helpful. 😬Thanks and best of luck!
Hi. Very interesting👍👍👍. greetings from Germany
Very helpful info. Thanks much, Amanda!
Good morning. Just found your channel. Learning new things and making it easier to what to pack for car camping . Thanks
The only change I can suggest from experience us consider a black bin to keep out light. It seems to better preserve some of dry/canned goods I pack. Happy camping!
Thanks for sharing
I'm so glad I discovered your channel. You have so many good ideas 💡😀
Beautiful Amanda 😍 have Beautiful box
Great video! This was super helpful.
My new favorite thing to watch thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing! Great ideas.
You are so welcome!
I’m “that person” with bins within bins too! 😄

Yay! Thanks for the great content!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting 😁
Gotta have the ramen and mac and cheese
for sure! haha
Love the seal on the lid! Keeps out bugs.
Hello Amanda
Hello!
Love your videos. Thank you
You're welcome Betty!
I’m liking the clear plastic bin with a locking lid since rodents and birds are a problem here in western Colorado, but is that bin a thick plastic that will resist cracking? I think I need an upgrade 🤷🏼♂️
I think it's a pretty sturdy bin, but it probably would crack if it's dropped or thrown around on hard surfaces.
Thank you. Great info. 👍
Great tip of leaving the food bin packed. I think I may start doing that as well. Thanks for the free camp cooking ebook. It looks great!
You are so welcome!
cool video idea! cute outfit too😊🏕
Thank you! 😁
Great suggestions. Just ordered some of those Maya Kaimal curry sauces and Tasty Bites rice to try!
They are so good! Hope you like them 😁
And ants. I mean, as long as it clips tight.
I have experienced accidentally eating ant cereal... Never again.
(In case you were wondering, ants taste spicy and bitter)
oh my gosh!! Ant cereal does not sound good 😬
Thank you for the info.
Amanda...I am binless!
I suggest a few backpacking meals in the case that you can only boil water.
That would be a great addition to the bin!
I love the organization! It makes me so happy!
Me too!!
How are you doing
What are the Indian food packets you have?
I've tried a bunch of different brands and never found one that I didn't like! I usually buy whatever is on sale between the brands Tasty Bite, Trader Joes, or Maya Kaimal, which is the one I showed in the video. I also buy the rice packets to go with them and it's such a delicious and easy camping dinner.
I have the exact same bin for my food!!!
What brand is that? Could you shared pls!!!
@@polianaleake9446 it’s one I got at Walmart. It’s the Sterlite brand. I’ve had mine for 3 years now.
A bin set like this might be still called “bearproof” in the sense that it prevents spreading around the intense food ingredients smells & flavors which usually attracts them. Thanks for the ideas!
You're so welcome! Thank you for watching!
alsome keep it up
What is the dutch oven you use? I know you have posted the link before and I cannot find it.
I use the 4 Qt. dutch oven from Barebones Living. I love it!
@@amanda.outside thank you!!! Yes! I love the ability to put coals on top and to also vent it for steam.
