Polished editing and clear, pleasant narration! I would for sure choose an aisle seat for any flight longer than 5 hours, though I realize you wouldn't have gotten the great wing view and aerial footage had you done that.
Thank you! I wanted to have a professional and to-the-point tone with this video and future trip reports. I absolutely agree; aisle seats are great for longer flights when you might be cramped in with tight legroom. Funny enough, a passenger in the aisle had his leg struck by one of the galley carts during this flight when the cabin was dark-guess there's always something to look out for. Cheers!
You'll have a great experience!! Cathay is a safe, reliable carrier, and they'll provide great food, entertainment, and comfortable seats for your trip. I'm a pilot myself, and I wasn't worried about the safety or professionalism of the crew; they did a great job
unfortunately lav cleanliness really depends on when you enter. Lucky if the crew just did their routine cleaning. Bad luck if someone ahead of you mess up the entire place. Overall really nice video with really high res especially during the plane spotting at the airport. Cathay Pacific definitely is one of the top airlines rivalling the Middle East carriers & Singapore Airlines. Definitely one of my top 5.
Hi there! I absolutely agree; it's not entirely fair to criticize the crew for a dirty lavatory (and it wasn't super dirty or anything) when there are hundreds of passengers over the course of a 14-hour flight. They have to rest and their duties too. I went to the lavatory sometime around the halfway point when everyone was sleeping and the cabin was dark, so it's likely they hadn't noticed or done their cleaning yet. Either way, I still had an outstanding flight on Cathay Pacific, and I'd definitely go out of my way to connect through HKG again to fly with them again. Thank you so much for the kind words as well, this was my first trip report so still figuring out the ropes and how to better improve.
Thanks for the analysis! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Thoughts on flying thru Russian airspace? All CX flights from the North America east coast will fly through the eastern side of Russia. *I realize that you went the transpacific route (Hk -> ORD).
I don't necessarily mind. I flew Lufthansa FRA-HND, and we avoided Russian airspace, which added a good bit to our flight time; however, with the recent Azerbaijan Airlines situation, I absolutely understand why someone would hesitate or be concerned about flying through it.
The seats are horrible if you are over 6ft... I flew to Boston to Hong Kong and the only reason I got thru it was because I wasn't alone. If someone leans back you are screwed.
Hi there! I disagree, actually. I'm roughly 6'1" myself, and I found the seats pretty comfortable. The recline can be annoying if you don't recline yourself, but even with the seat ahead of me reclined, it wasn't more or less of an issue compared to other airlines I've flown on. I'd definitely choose Cathay over United and many other airlines when flying to Hong Kong.
@jviation737 I can't speak for any other airline but being 6ft 3in, my knees are quite literally at the pockets of the seat I am behind. I should have taken a picture.
Hi there! I definitely see the appeal. I actually flew Hong Kong Airlines from NRT-HKG and recorded some footage for a trip report on that later. I agree that the full-service Asian carriers like Cathay, JAL, ANA, Starlux, EVA, and China Airlines are outstanding, and I do have plans to fly on them in the future. I wouldn't say Hong Kong Airlines was better than carriers like JetBlue, Southwest, or Alaska, but I'm planning on and would love to fly more Asian carriers (both full service and low cost) to experience them. Cheers!
@@jviation737 As a non avivation professional, been thinking why this is the case (Service quality of Asian vs Western Full service Airlines). Concultion = Culture Different .....
Haven't seen your content in a while. Glad to see vids
Brilliant flight review mate.Cathay is a great airline for sure.
I agree! I definitely plan to fly them again in the future
This is really good tripreport
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Agreed. Better than mine
Man, you just missed the signature cup noodle and egg tart snack. Passenger all loving it so much.
You're absolutely right! I fell asleep and missed my chance to get some. I'll definitely ask for it on my next Cathay flight!

Really great video, I'm nervous about my next flights with Cathay, 14 hours duration. In the next month. Wish me luck

How is the bus system in HK? I heard that it’s very easy to pay for them with any card right? Very intuitive system it seems.
Pretty good! And yes, you can use tap to pay. I had some trouble with it, so be sure to have funds on your octopus card along with some physical cash.
4:19 nice hand reveal

Yep! Was there for a few days after spending about a week in Japan
Typical Asian airlines standard. Try more Asian Airline next time
