The Scent of the £10 Note for the Sunday Times

- I was asked by The Sunday Times to create the scent of the ten pound note, as the paper version is about to be discontinued and made plastic, like the £5 note.
This is one of the more esoteric things I’ve ever been asked to do, which is one of the more fun things because it really makes you stop and think.
The Sunday Times asked if I would keep a video diary of the experience, so I am sharing it with RUclips to give you an insight into my workspace and how I create.

Love this idea, I miss the smell of paper notes.

When I started mixing the fragrance, everyone started telling me that I could never do it. No one teaches me, only my intuition. And she brought me here too. And that is very exciting.
Could you recreate the smell of burning luxury cigar's, the closest fragrance i've smelt is Royal Oud. Thank's also for the demonstration of how you work it's very enlightening.

Your scents are amazing. Any chance you”LLC come out with something that takes you to the Turkish bathes and the grand bazaar. It’s one of those places that when I think of Istanbul I associate it with the smells of the grand bazaar, figs and dates and the clean smell of the Turkish bath. Complex yes but your the master:) Thank you!!

I have a question: Do you need to give your nose a break occasionally? Sometimes I feel that when I am sampling fragrances that
at a certain point my nose seems to loose its attention to detail.

Yes, when smelling perfume, everyone needs to break occasionally because the alcohol in the formula acts like an anaesthetic, dulling your olfactory senses. It is just a placebo that coffee fixes this - simply give your nose a short rest. Rx
