This would led to a TOTAL NOSEDIVE, MALYAS, TURMOIL for the Fighting Irish for the NEXT 13 Years that will spanned from my 2nd Grade Elementary School 1997-98, through my Sophomore Year in College in 2009-10 prior to Brian Kelly becoming head coach.
@@rogertaylor3216well we’re their rumors of him hitting punching players during practice but just wasn’t filmed ? I read he was an assistant under woody Hayes at Ohio State. Woody Hayes Definitely was crazy and was documented a few times until he completely lost it at the Gator Bowl against Clemson that everyone knows.

@@CHICANO1975 Not at all. I just find his act tiresome and hypocritical. If you praise his record at Notre Dame then you must admit he looked the other way on a lot of things. In fact, Holtz left every program he coached just before they were hit with NCAA probation. NC State, Minnesota, Arkansas, Notre Dame, and South Carolina were all found to have violated NCAA rules while under the leadership of Holtz.
NCISfanatic21 he was angry he couldn’t get the players he wanted there. It’s a football program that has a academic requirement and his players never did well in the classroom. 👌
@@NCISfanatic21 By '96 the powers that be had enough of Lou Holtz and his antics. He wasn't winning in '94, '95 and '96 the way he was in the late 80s and early 90s. Lou was constantly complaining to admissions about lowering the academic standards to help him win. Add that to the fact that they were put on probation in '94 for the first time ever. ND had enough of Lou. They kindly showed him the door.
AD Mike Wadsworth would not give Lou a vote of confidence -- that's why Lou made the "organ grinder and the monkey" comment. Anyway, once Vinnie Cerrato was gone, ND was not able to bring in the stellar talent they had between 1988 & 1993. Additionally, the admin. thought Bob Davie would be fine -- a big blunder.
Lou mentioned a new stadium for Notre Dame. They never actually got a new stadium. They expanded the seating capacity at Notre Dame Stadium prior to the 1997 season.
They've done 2nd renovation, as well and only added 17,000 seats 67,000 from both? I still miss the old house I grew up in. Basically, it's sky boxes and ginger bread. Don't get me wrong, it's impressive but they should have hiked the seating to 80-85,000
He is and always will be my favorite coach at ND. God bless Lou.

When Randy Moss failed to show up and Ron Powlus got injured, Holtz was effectively done.
Lou Holtz is a Great Coach and his record proves it.
He was abusive, dishonest, and an embarrassment. He sought glory for himself. Worse than Woody Hayes.
