That's solid gold man!!! 1987 great memories DJing for me!!! Murderous lyrics/Nitzer Ebb Where is the youth Youth It's time to know It's time to live Shout golden shouts Lift up your hearts Much better now We're stronger now Now don't be lazy With the pleasure of sin Where is the youth Where is the gold Think of the beauty Think of your pride Don't back away It's there, it's there for you Don't back away Hear, hear what we say Said hear, hear what we say Let passion spend Let passion spend Let your passion spend Let your passion spend Better now, stronger now Better now, stronger now Now don't be lazy With the pleasure of sin It's time, it's time to know It's time, it's time to live Don't back away
Haha yes! Excellent man! just got a monologue the other day and literally the first thing I did was try to replicate sequences from 'the total age' era Nitzer Ebb. Love their skill for somehow getting enough interest into 16 steps to sustain an entire track. Kudos on the attention to detail with your drum programming too! Nice job.
damn, this is sick! You got a lot of sounds out of those 2 pieces of analog gear. I have the same setup and struggle to get something that sounds so full without adding more instruments.
I'm trying to remember the last NE gig I went to. I think it was the "Ebbhead" tour at the Rocket in Holloway road. I do remember that it was bone-alteringly loud and that I met Martin Gore there.
Good job. I'm sorry but i have the same set up but i can't connect my monologue and my DB in midi with the audio with the DB on master for the tempo ... How you do that ? You must have a Table or a PC ? ( i'm french sorry for my language ahah)
I checked it out, I hear digital synths. Kind if different from the analog sounds from this setup, but I suppose one could emulate it, tho it wouldn't sound quite the same
love the camera approach. Very harmonic. Only the kick somehow doesn`t come through-goes a bit under. Are you sidechaining? Btw is there a Swing and-or Quantization setting in the sequencer of the Monologue?
Audio is in thru the camera mic in which has a little threshold for bass. To limit peaking I have to mix the kicks in lower. I haven't checked for swing or quantize yet on the monologue
Well, the camera has an input, and that's what I do, direct line from the mixer to the camera in. For video jams I'm usually satisfied with it since I don't want to use a DAW and sync later..., but that low volume kick sometimes is the drawback...
i see. could it be that the camera Input has some Highpass like many voice recorders have? Am asking cause i don`t hear much happening below 100-150 hz. It`s not only the kick. The complete low end is missing. It almost sounds that even though it`s line in the signal comes from the mic of the camera or something. But i guess one can`t have it all. i am probably too demanding when it comes to sound quality.... :-)
Monologue is great. It's my first real mono synth if you don't count the volca bass or my mother 32. Sequencer has lots of potential/features. So far it hasn't disappointed, beefy bass, ripping leads.
I'm in love with the shallow depth of field and the blown-out LEDs on the DrumBrute. These two synths pair nicely with each other too!
Thanks, yes the complement each other well
Fantastic! Fancy tackling Smothered Hope next or some early Front Line Assembly?
Fantastic performance, the Monologue is such a fantastic bit of gear for the price, that sequencer was the real star of the show. Good stuff!
Im fan of Nitzer Ebb since 1989. Great job~~
Thank you! I heard Belief first in 1990 and was blown away by the hard minimalist wet synth sounds
*_NOW DON'T BE LAZY! WITH THE PLEASURE OF (SYNTH)!!!_*
:-))))
YES!!!! I was just sending my buddy a video telling him how the mono base sounds sound like early industrial and then I came across yours! nice job!
Haha thanks! I did front 242 as well within a week 😄
That's solid gold man!!!

Murderous lyrics/Nitzer Ebb
Where is the youth
Youth
It's time to know
It's time to live
Shout golden shouts
Lift up your hearts
Much better now
We're stronger now
Now don't be lazy
With the pleasure of sin
Where is the youth
Where is the gold
Think of the beauty
Think of your pride
Don't back away
It's there, it's there for you
Don't back away
Hear, hear what we say
Said hear, hear what we say
Let passion spend
Let passion spend
Let your passion spend
Let your passion spend
Better now, stronger now
Better now, stronger now
Now don't be lazy
With the pleasure of sin
It's time, it's time to know
It's time, it's time to live
Don't back away
Classic 😃

Thanks! Yes, NE is one of my favorites and definitely one of my highest influences. They do lots with very little. And those wet sounds on Belief...😄
We should be friends...
Nice job. Loving my Monologue so far.
Thanks! Yes, she's a beaut
Acid Body Music. There were not many producers who mixed EBM and Acid House. This has some potential as a new subgenre.
New Beat

thanks for introducing me to nitzer ebb! and great work on your interpretation.
Thanks! Love Nitzer Ebb, their albums Belief and Showtime were huge influences on me 😃
Good work, just got my monologue yesterday and am very happy with it. May have to dig out some front 242 and start some covers :)
Thanks! That is a brilliant idea, love 242 😃
Love the angle on that shot!! Cool track too :-)
Thanks!
Yes, last time I heard from Nitzer Ebb was 20 years ago!
Thanks 😃, they are a huge influence

That was sooo good dude thanks !! Saved to favourites, I have these two machines too, they pair sooo well together 🤘😎
Thank you 👊
Good to know it can do EBM
Thanks, this was my first try with it. I think I straighten out the balance in my later efforts 😃
Love this song, great job!
Thanks, it was on my bucket list for a while...

Just the perfect track for a monologue :) WHERE IS THE YOUTH?
Thanks! Wish I had pushed the drums to peak a bit more...
Where is the youth !!!
Much better now
So good!!
Thank you 😃
Awesome.
Thanks man, just scratching the surface 😃
love it!
Thank you Mr Beats 😃

How you do that ? You must have a Table or a PC ?
( i'm french sorry for my language ahah)
Thanks, I have them both tracked on a Roland VS880 multitracker recorder
do you suppose one might be able to replicate "Ladies Night" track of Ayumi Hamasaki with this hardware?
I checked it out, I hear digital synths. Kind if different from the analog sounds from this setup, but I suppose one could emulate it, tho it wouldn't sound quite the same
I wonder if I can do this with the Minilouge XD...
I don't have a minilogue XD, but from what I've heard, it should be able to
Really nicely done. The Drumbrute is perhaps not massive enough for EBM though. Nice all the same :)
Thanks! Well the drumbrute is probably capable, but my improper mixing and limited camera mic is at fault here with the lacking punch on drums
Great! Yes, I read about your mixing in the thread after I posted.
Excellent! :-)
Thanks 😃, I did another one much later with a couple Volcas that I like better 🤖
Mattelica Do you have a video of this? I have Minilogue and korg volca bass, keys and sample, for the drums! :-)

Oh i see. Well you SHOULD! :-) record the Line out of your mixer or whatever you use. Forget camera mics. Pleaaaase!
Well, the camera has an input, and that's what I do, direct line from the mixer to the camera in. For video jams I'm usually satisfied with it since I don't want to use a DAW and sync later..., but that low volume kick sometimes is the drawback...

Sweet.

WHERE IS THE YOUTH?
this shit is really swaying me in the way of the korg 'logue' line for EBM stuff - can the minilogue do this?
Minilogue is capable but Monologue is better for EBM type basses. Perhaps the Minilogue XD, but I don't have one so I'm not sure
Very good One!! Is it possible to have the 64 steps playing in the drumbrut? The monostation ONLY have 16 right?
Drumbrute is 64 steps max indeed
@@Mattelica do the monostation has problems sync the drumbrute? dont know if they work at full capacity if one hsa 16 steps and the other 64...
No problem, I think in this particular setup the drumbrute was the master clock, and the monologue was midi synced.
@@Mattelica thank you ;) very Nice song and Nice video also by the way!
GreaT!!!! GreaT!!!
Genial!!
Thank you!
Is it possible to play some note while we play the pattern on korg monologue?
It'll play but only notes that aren't already occupied by a note on the sequencer
Brillllll :)
Wicked, uv inspired me to get more creative with my drumbrute and prophet 6 - how do u rate the monologue?
Monologue is great. It's my first real mono synth if you don't count the volca bass or my mother 32. Sequencer has lots of potential/features. So far it hasn't disappointed, beefy bass, ripping leads.
The DrumBrute was too loud, but other than that it sounded alright.
I like that bass.
I thought it wasn't loud enough myself
I got this on 12" still.
Nice! Those b side remixes on those Nitzer Ebb singles are awesome
@@Mattelica I also got the 12" records of Fade to Grey and Los Ninos del Parque.
Sometimes it is a disco over here!!!
what camera did you use to film?
Canon 6D + 50mm 1.4
What are the chords in that song?
I just play by ear but I think the notes are e, a flat, b flat and c
Sorry, f not e
I love that progression. That + d#.
I feel like 16 again ;)
acid
hate the drumbrute, love the monologue. xxx
Fair enough, not really the best drum machine for ebm
still big-up for this video though ;). cheers
Thanks! Cheers 🍻
Shit! This bass line sounds the same like oryginal!
I almost prefer my other version with the volcas
Korg Polysix do exactly the same things & sounds...nothing new here, same old song
I don't have a polyix. Sometimes I try to have some fun
Can you buy a Korg Polysix for $299?
macpirson wow what s useful comment.
This is awesome
Thanks!
