I love your reactions. You have such upbeat and positive approach, and really just really so fun to watch because of how you correct yourself sometimes. Your smile and giggle are absolutely adorable and uplifting.
@DennisKovacich Those were definitely subs, you can match the notes with other techniques for sure but the difference is in how it sounds with that texture and resonance.
@@MikeBass4456, I haven’t learned any special techniques, and have had no training or coaching of any kind. I just know that songs like his Sixteen Tons that he said was all chest voice I can sing along with. I assume when he goes too low for me it’s usually subharmonic.
@@DennisKovacich in 16 tons he goes down to F1/G1(I don't remember exactly). This is very near the end of his chest voice. If you are able to reach a D1 you are either a one in a million contra contra bass or you are unknowingly slipping into a chest-fry which could still sound resonant. Try sliding down from a high note all the way to the bottom of your range and see if you could do it continuously.
To Geoff's credit -- I believe that this is the first rendition where I could understand every word - in a register that usually is not known for clarity.
I love how all the Geoff's get along, the side smiles, encouraging looks and all. Plus, the Geoff to Geoff's far left was having a great time with his "dance" moves. A patron at a higher tier than me said Geoff implied that far left (right to us) Geoff may have been a little drunk that day. He and Kathy did this video in five hours. The venue was very expensive, and he didn't want to go over and have to pay an additional fee. Great reaction, Jen!!!
I forget who it is, but in a comment in an earlier Geoff video they gave a very detailed and compelling explanation to which Geoff is which in his videos and why....and obviously Daryl is Daryl. I think they based it off of Way Down when they had name tags. But I believe, based on their analysis, that farthest right in this video is Jeff. Apparently, he is the funny, goofy one. 😆
Kathy had found this mansion about an hour from their home. The place is used for events and this time the event is Geoff. This is absolutely EPIC, so glad I just got a new headphone set. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I waited for you to drop this. Your face when Geoff low balled the multiple low notes was epic. Seeing I only watch a few CC's all those that I watch pretty much had the same reaction. Eyes wide. disbelief, jaw dropped lol. Ummmm I did the same thing when I 1st heard it. Except I said an explicative as I was fighting my keyboard to rewind to hear it again lol. thx for the reaction.
"Raising the sound" chord is amazing, with the bass going up instead of down. And even then it comes ramped in with a delay to complete building in tension. Not many reactors mention it, but every one of them has their eyes go wide open!! What a masterpiece. And that arrangement, vocals AND instrumentation! Thanks for the singing insights, very good demonstration. Those pauses!!!!
Thanks for this reaction to Geoff's epic Christmas release. I have run out of superlatives! A five octave vocal range is a powerful thing. I enjoy the way Geoff arranges music nearly as much as his vocals. Judging by his album art, the Geoffquakes did some damage!
Not sure if you're in front of a green screen or not, but … as well as your great video, I loved the tree lights in the back. Apparently you have a twinkle effector that responds to vocal stimulus! Nice touch🕯🕯🕯❤
I’m not sure if you’ve already listened to them before, but you should react to “Hoist the Colours” and/or “Santiana.” Both are done by the Bass Singers of TlkTok. One is on Bobby Bass’ channel; the other is on Ebucs’ channel.
Leann Rimes does a great version of this. Have you checked her out yet? She is an amazing vocalist. Check out her work. You'll enjoy it. She won a Grammy at 14 years old. Incredible.
As soon as you picked up your tea I was thinking - better set that down or it will be all over your mic. This is an amazing arrangement and execution. I know that it's probably not for everyone, but I love it. For another very non-traditional version of this song, here's a link to Adam Rupp's version ruclips.net/video/L31KSWSMvj4/видео.htmlsi=qWGhbh2AkjY-7-WY I saw him do this live and when I realized what he was doing my brain exploded. Happy holidays!
Just watched a doc iMovie about Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and the several years after he lost his wife. This is the first writing after she was killed in a housefire!
Hey Jennifer. Wonder if you have heard of the Danish National girls choirs. The childrens choir, the DR Bornekoret do a great job of singing Somewhere in my memory/Carol of the bells, which I think you would find great. Alternatively you could hear the girls choir, The Pigekoret sing River by Joni mitchell, or Magnum Mysterium. Would like to hear your opinion
Thunder of the Bells? Carol of the Dragons? "Carol of the Bells" doesn't seem to convey the depth and power of this arrangement and performance! I love the latter middle section where the surprising harmonies are so special, not the typical chord structure one hears in this song! Very lush! (I always love that about his arrangements!) And I always love your reactions and analysis, Jennifer! I wish I could hire you to help me rehabilitate my voice which has been damaged (I won't go into it here) because your knowledge is so impressive! I think you'd be fun to work with!
The cover art for this song perfectly describes what this song is. It is NOT your fathers 'Carol of the Bells'. The cover art shows three bells in ruin after a major -earth- GeoffQuake!
All the quakes were Daryll - he decided it was time he had a real lead - just to shake things up. I think the power of this version and the destruction of the bells on the cover art may be a nod to the war-weary Ukraine from where the carol originates - a Christmas rallying carol perhaps?
Dude, this is a reaction channel. If you want the pleasure of listening to him (and I totally agree, it's quite a pleasure!), go listen on his channel. Not only would he appreciate the support and views, it would help with his RUclips career. I never watch reaction videos for any artist until I've watched/listened to the original.
Ahh Yess... Carol of the Dragons..... 🐉🐉🐲🐉🐉
LOL !!! Jenn your facial expressions are classic. So very expressive I love them. I'm still giggling. Always love your reaction videos.
Ahaha thank you!😁
Jenn is as lovely and fresh faced.... as she is humerous ....and ofcourse....very very informative!!
When I saw the cover artwork, I new Geoff was planning on breaking things! Love his arrangement and performance. Thanks for the reaction.
😁
Oh sweetie... You're not ready for this one! 🤯🚑⚰️
It's Carol of the Foghorns
Every time Geoff hits a subharmonic note an Angel gets it’s wings…and a Devil gets it’s pitchfork. 😂
I love your reactions. You have such upbeat and positive approach, and really just really so fun to watch because of how you correct yourself sometimes. Your smile and giggle are absolutely adorable and uplifting.
Geoff + Christmas. Geoff + Halloween. Geoff goes with any holiday...
Those subs went from G1, Eb1, F1, D1!!!!! Absolutely insane
Are you sure those are subs? Because I haven’t learned how to do subharmonics, but I can match those notes.
@DennisKovacich Those were definitely subs, you can match the notes with other techniques for sure but the difference is in how it sounds with that texture and resonance.

He later does the same notes with open vowel subs

Geoff's made me want more "action movie" carols this season! Let's take them all way down and smash some bells for the heck of it! 😂😂
Very cinematic!

Isn't that Daryl? He's having good time.

Merry Christmas, Jen.
You are no more prepared for this than I was.
Strap in and prepare to be awed.
Haha Merry Christmas!
Thank you for your reaction. Geoff singing this + your reaction = more reasons to like & understand what's what.

😂 ah so good!
Nice reactions. Loving the eyebrow raise and open mouth. He still surprises us all. Happy Holidays, each and every one. 🎉🎅
I am convinced that his hand movements are explained by his name... he's Italian!😊
Love it!
On his instructional videos he does use his hands quite a bit when talking, too!
Jen, your facial expression on 8:27 should be the thumbnail for this video :) Great reaction
Your reaction when Geoff hit that G1 and your eyes just went wide open.
😂

I really ❤❤❤❤❤ Sign. 🎉🎉🎉
Love your reaction and analysis. Charming as always, Jen. 👏❤
Geoff's voice is like a cozy blanket and a cup of hot chocolate on a wintry day
Lmao. "Really nice and pouty" great reaction as always
8:20...Your face says it all! 😂😂😂😘
Also, wishing you and your family a very happy Christmas! 🌹🎄🌹
You are the first one who comment about that cry note. Finally!❤
He definitely poured the honey over the thunder!
As I expected, another great reaction Jennifer! Not just commentary, but your facial expressions are a very nice touch. 👍🎹👸❤
Aha thank you!
Always a pleasure to hear your analysis, Jen! Thank you..
4:59
Nice "bass." 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
Merry Christmas, Jen! ❤
Loved your reaction to this!
Why does the Creator give us this blessing? Because He knows we need it and He loves us.
Thank you! I always look forward to your reactions, especially to Geoff! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Not sure if you're in front of a green screen or not, but … as well as your great video, I loved the tree lights in the back. Apparently you have a twinkle effector that responds to vocal stimulus! Nice touch🕯🕯🕯❤
Haha it’s real 😁
This made me smile, loved seeing all the Jenspressions, of which there were many. Great analysis as always. Thanks 😊
Ahaha thank you!
Beautiful! Merry Christmas!
By Jenns thumbnail, she's in the Christmas spirit.
I think we all made that face at more than one point of Geoff's performance!
Five Geoffs mean we're in for epic levels of arrangement and harmonies. I cannot get enough of this.
This will be a happy 70th birthday for me just to watch Jennifer's reaction to this one. Thank you Jennifer .
Happy birthday! 🎉❤
@@helenachevallier128 Thank you ❤
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Happy 70th, Marsha!!! 🥳🎉🎈🎁🎂
@@lordqwertythepyromancer3458 Thank you ❤️
Jenn, I love your reactions so much! You are a treasure! Thank you so much for your insight and joy that you bring to your reactions. ❤😊
Thank you!
Thanks, Jen. I will never again be able to watch Geoff without thinking of "Geoffettes." You've ruined me forever. 😁😁😁
😂
Again, I love your lighting. It is very warm. And even though the background is dark you are very well lit.
Thank you!😁
Your subs are getting so much better. Luv your reactions. Epic Geoff
Haha yay!😁

Over the years it’s been fun watching you try to hit Geoff’s low notes! You’ve gotten better at it. What is your low sub these days?
I’m not actively working on it, so I have Geoff to thank hahah! 😁
That wonderful crunchy chromaticism ❤ is *chef's kiss*.
SO GOOD!
I loved his cover/rendition. My earbuds not so much. 🫨
I can tell you as someone with the same range as Geoff, it's fairly easy to hold that long low note forever.
If you have a subwoofer.....this would be an excellent party favor
Leann Rimes does a great version of this. Have you checked her out yet? She is an amazing vocalist. Check out her work. You'll enjoy it. She won a Grammy at 14 years old. Incredible.
Jennifer, you should also react to Jonas Kaufmann singing Nessun Dorma :D Quite the experience!
By the look on Jen's face in the thumbnail, she looks speechless.
😱
Heheh! I have never heard someone say that Geoff's voice was 'Down in grave'. :D
Actually, i can dive in into that 1 octave even tho i am a counter tenor🎉🎉
Merry Christmas everyone😀😀😀
He is showing great musicianship (arrangement) apart from the vocals.
Brilliant version.
Have a great Christmas and New Year. X
⚘️🕊
Great arrangements on the vocals, the instrumentation, and the video itself! A masterpiece.
The Geoffettes😂😂

I shared this with my family, and my oldest son (34) said “Not my favorite rendition, but his range continues to be impressive.”
Oooo yess finally..😍
