I don't think you'll have much luck getting sheet music for this piece. On another video, Geoff described his process in arranging music for VoicePlay, and sheet music was an afterthought, if it happened at all (usually it didn't). I doubt his process is more formal when he's arranging for himself, but it might be worth a try to ask for it.
Thank you Danielle for another priceless reaction to Geoff. He surely has let the Dragons loose with this one proving that even Dragons celebrate Christmas too.
His instrumentation just keeps getting better. He just makes Christmas carols from frothy fru fru stuff I don't like, to intense and magical epic sagas. It's so incredible. Yeah... The key change got me too 😂
'Epic' is the descriptor I keep hearing people say over and over again about this cover. It has also been compared to film scores; it's like the Die Hard of Christmas Carols. Geoff has such a remarkable gift for reworking and reinventing songs; I don't know that he gets enough credit for the fascinating and dynamic arrangements he creates. BTW, I'm pretty sure he does have a site where he sells his sheet music, but I'm not sure if it encompasses all of his compositions. Check the links in the description of any of his videos though, since he's very good about posting all that sort of thing.
Other than a few songs in Voiceplay's PartWorks series a few years ago, they don't create or use sheet music. It's the last step, Geoff has said, and not necessary for the way they arrange and learn their parts.
The sheet of this song: Low huming Go lower A bit lower Cinematic boom divided in four part Starts low for 2 seconds Go lower for 2 seconds Even lower for 2 seconds Back to where you started (that is low too) for 2 seconds Repeat
The space he has between the harmonies is freakish. So deep and so high. That allows him so much more room to colour the harmonies with. It's honestly spectacular the way he weaves them all together
This song is simply EPIC ❤ Love his arrangements and I love that he uses instruments and keeps the "only a capella" for VoicePlay, in this one I adored the percussion 🫶🏻 The "middle Geoff" had a way to stare down the camera, like he was right before going into battle... I literally felt intimidated 😮 I'm not much into all the Christmas stuff and songs, but this one... good lord... I'm listening to it on repeat since it dropped (literally 😂) on Friday 👍🏻
ngl I didn’t expect to like this song as first - I’m used to hearing and singing it as a light and haunting thing. Geoff went and made it into a battle anthem, and I’m so here for that!
The low note on "dong" (3:05) towards the beginning is a G1 in chest voice. The low notes on "merry christMAS" (3:38) are a G1 subharmonic, Eb1 subharmonic, back up to an F1 subharmonic, then down to an astounding full D1 subharmonic. Absolutely crazy stuff from Geoff.
Thank you for your reaction to Geoff's amazing new production! I really enjoyed watching it unfold with each lovely surprise. This is now my favorite of his songs!
Thanks for this reaction to Geoff's Christmas release. I have run out of superlatives! I enjoy the way Geoff arranges music nearly as much as his vocals. Judging by his album art, the Geoffquakes did some damage! I think that Geoff has said that he no longer does sheet music because it is too time consuming.
Geoff has a fairly low chest voice but he has crafted his sub harmonic abilities better than any other I have ever heard because he almost makes it sound like chest notes. You can still hear the switch but not like it used to be! I think his chest stops around an F1, maybe a half note below that! Still very impressive! This is excellent the way he balances the higher harmonies with the lower ones at different times and also changes up the arrangement to highlight that! Enjoyed this, great job. My lowest chest notes constantly is around A0 and have hit the G0 in front of my voice teacher a few times! Go Geoff and merry Christmas Danielle! Low bass Kenneth
@ I was telling her I had a hard time getting the sub harmonics to work. Her words to me was you don’t need to because you can hit the notes with just your voice! You would have to talk to her. My voice started the puberty changes at age 8. Thanks though for responding!
I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to this, so far I've listened to Geoff first then about 15 reactors, a couple of them more than once. This is really stunning. Now it's time for you to do VoicePlay's Zat U Santa Claus? w/ J None who managed to get the great Satchmo to loan him his voice for the last part of this song.
Carol of the Bells....really really big bells. This is just plain epic. I don't care what brand of earbuds one has, they can't reproduce this properly. It takes larger drivers. I ran this through my stereo and it shook the house. Doing just one subharmonic note is hard enough. Doing multiple notes in a row in subharmonics with no breaks is insane and he nailed them all.
I would swear Geoff, in the passages where he is sliding up/down in the depths, is going from an F1 to an A0...maybe even a B0. I sang bass back in the day and can recognize the lowest notes, but I won't even pretend to be able to go into the 4th octave, much less the 5th. Nor could I match his clarity in his lowest range. The man is freaking incredible!
There were over 150 tracks on this project. He posted a pic on Patreon of the project before he announced what it was ... and it looked crazy complex, even from just a single screenshot.
i couldnt tell during this if on 'christmas' he was going high low, higher, lower or just going down lower and lower, like if we use numbers, 1 being highest and 4 being lowest, if its 1324 or 1234, but thankfully you had a better ear and cleared that question for me
I feel like it isn't continually going lower in that part. I think the third note is like half step higher than the second, then it drops for the fourth note. What does anyone else think? Maybe other things are getting in the way of me hearing it clearly.
4:43 - G, Eb, F, D x2. This sequence more or less continues as a theme throughout the song. Your pitch isn't that good, so maybe a metropitch or a piano for reference (which I've seen you use before) would be good. Keep it up!
I hadn't identified the notes myself, but Danielle called out his bass run as a all-decending riff confused me. I don't have a perfect ear, but I was hearing deep note - down - UP - deepest note
@@flar4282 Same. I thought she missed that one too. For me, it definitely doesn't go down 3 times in a row, it's down-downer-up-downest (you know what I mean, LOL!). I don't doubt that @dkix89 has the correct notes, as I've read in another reaction that Geoff's lowest sub in this is D1, which matches what they said perfectly. EDIT: Checking against a tuning drone (yes, I have to cheat!), dkix89 has the correct notes.
On that really low “Christmas,” you said he hits a low note, then goes lower, then goes lower again, then goes even lower. It sounds to me like he goes up a bit on that third note rather than lower. I may have the wrong notes, but the progression sounds to me like G-D#-F-D.

History is being made with this video! Geoff is incredible!!

I positively hate Christmas music (for a lot of reasons). This rendition is pretty good, at least by my standards.
Just when you think he can't top himself, Geoff rolls out sound from the earth's inner core.
The National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC) absolutely HATES it when Geoff releases a new video. They get SO many false readings!!!
This blew my socks off... if Lord of the Rings ever needs some Christmas Edition music.... well...
Thank you for the reaction.
⚘️🕊

I mean, if you think about it, the longer geoff's hair is, the deeper his voice goes
He's phenomenal ❤The arrangement is a masterpiece..... again! 😊
Thunder of the bells! But my favorite part is that hauntingly beautiful second verse!!!
Super reaction thank. Geoff is really flying now. Incredible arrangement.
The sheet of this song:

I've been shocked by this several times... It was really fun watching YOU get shocked the FIRST time!! Great reaction!
The space he has between the harmonies is freakish. So deep and so high. That allows him so much more room to colour the harmonies with. It's honestly spectacular the way he weaves them all together
Oh my gosh, this guy gives chills. So bassy. He's incredible~!

I just don't see this type of creativity in other solo singers, no insult to them. His arrangements are some of the best I've ever seen, from anyone.
Geoff blows me away, but Danielle l love to watch your range of emotion when you react to him. I giggle like a little girl watching you watch him.
ngl I didn’t expect to like this song as first - I’m used to hearing and singing it as a light and haunting thing. Geoff went and made it into a battle anthem, and I’m so here for that!

Next you should react to Valhalla Calling by Voiceplay, you'll be literally amazed and voiceless, especially by Geoff prestation !
Thank you for your reaction to Geoff's amazing new production! I really enjoyed watching it unfold with each lovely surprise. This is now my favorite of his songs!
Thank you! You are one of my favorite reactors! Geoff did an amazing job! Awesome!!!
Awesome reaction as usual! Please react to Valhalla Calling.....Epic

I don't think A0 and G0 were chest notes. Nobody has ever hit those notes in chest. With fry, growl or sub it's possible.
@ I was telling her I had a hard time getting the sub harmonics to work. Her words to me was you don’t need to because you can hit the notes with just your voice! You would have to talk to her. My voice started the puberty changes at age 8. Thanks though for responding!
I loved the dragon choir singing a Christmas carol.

Loved your reaction. It seemed to match my own reaction so closely.
3:39 He fused his voice his whatever brass bass that is and turned it into one of those massive cathedral bells ringing!

I prefer listening to him in my car as he’s blown two soundbars for me. 🙄. This one made my rear view mirror vibrate.
love listening to Geoff with my headphones on; he makes these 40mm drivers shake
The epic low notes are still playing the same "sweet silver bells" melody, just lower and slower.
I heard 5 parts in the beginning, but that's just me. This is phenomenal!!
I was SO hoping to see a reaction from you on this one after watching the "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" reaction yesterday.

Please add Home Free's "Cold Hard Cash" to your Christmas list. So Good.
Geoff do love subharmonics!
I very much lovr your channel, and you. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
The bass drop sounds like the B0 he flexed in Valhalla Calling .
You are my best reactor. Amazing
There were over 150 tracks on this project. He posted a pic on Patreon of the project before he announced what it was ... and it looked crazy complex, even from just a single screenshot.
So he went full "Peter Hollens" with this. No wonder this is his best work to date.
Look at the hands you can see who is doing something in the harmonies

Got to love the subharmonics.
Never heard an earthquake sing the "Carol of the Bells" !!!!?!!!!
It would be neat to see it written out, but i'm very much an auditory learner, when it comes to music.
I feel like it isn't continually going lower in that part. I think the third note is like half step higher than the second, then it drops for the fourth note. What does anyone else think? Maybe other things are getting in the way of me hearing it clearly.
Nothing to see here, just Geoff casually playing around D1 and F#4. 😂
This is the song when Krampus comes for u... And you're pleased about it...
❤️
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😊
His version of Jacks Lament is amazing aswell
👍🎶

I played that out on an online piano while listening and this sounds correct.
I've come to understand Geoff is a dragon.
bet you can't wait to hear it again with your piano nearby
want to wish you and fmaily a safe and happy holiday-hope all is well continued success...
Now I know what caused that recent earthquake of the coast of Northern California. Geoff just broke the earth.
If you like deep voices you should listen to a guy named Tim Storms. He has an even deeper voice.
Geoff is not from this Planet, defintly.

I feel like Pentatonix doesn't emphasize the bass enough and it's one reason I dislike them and much prefer Voice Play and Home Free.
