The (Nuremberg) red beer is a truly underestimated beer style that has been gaining popularity again for about 20 years.
The reddish shimmering beer has been brewed exclusively with barley malt since the Middle Ages.
Stefan Stretz, founder and owner of the Schanzenbräu brewery in Nuremberg, has set himself the task of reviving this style of beer - and with great success.
We are allowed to take a look at the production of the multiple award-winning Schanzenbräu red beer and Stefan explains to us what is important in the production process.

I tried this beer at the Nuremberg craft brew festival. Wow a nice balanced beer that you could easily drink all day long. As a home brewer i will try to reproduce this style..it will not be easy but this clip definitely has given me some starting point. I think the guy in the clip served me my beer. Best beer tried so far in beautiful Bavaria
