Thanks so much! I've been using 3M ultra flexible sanding sheets for several years now, and have used them to make several hundred wine stoppers. SO disappointed to learn that 3M stopped selling the product. I use Abranet 600 grit for the first pass at the CA glue finish, then switch to the micro mesh pads. But, based on what I saw in your video, I'll order some coarser grits for the bare wood sanding itself.

I hope they work as well for you as they have for me. Last week I finished another batch of handles using the Abranet sheets with great results.

Glad I found this video! Very informative. I just started turning on the lathe (pens mostly) and ordered a small pack of the mesh to sand them with. Cutting big sheets of sandpaper is a pain. Then they clog. Then the clogs mess up the pens....it's a cycle! Hopefully these will work out well.

Hi there Don. Good to see you keeping good. Day Hi to Pam. I saw that mesh stuff before but never watched a review. Thank you for that. I do not do a lot of turning, but I would like a set of them. Take care as always. Pascal

So is it one sided like normal sand paper.

Richard Sell yes these sheets are. They have a Velcro type backing to hook to sanding blocks. Some sanding mesh, like the strips I showed, aren’t one sided.
