    I’m currently in 8th grade and have loved animals my whole life! Especially exotic animals. I hope I can accomplish my dreams in the future because I would love to be a wildlife vet!

    I'm an incoming second year Vet student and I'm planning to volunteer at a zoo during our next academic break here in the Philippines. I've always been fascinated by animals and when I graduate, I plan on having Wildlife Veterinary Medicine as my area of specialization.😊

    Hello, was wondering if you could go over the process to be a wildlife veterinarian. In order to get wildlife jobs, would I need dog/cat experience first?

      Hi I’m current working to be a wild life vet tech. What my teacher recommended is to work in a general practice to gain basic skills and at the same time volunteer at a wild life place where you would like to work.
      It is much more difficult to get into wild like practice that general so if you volunteer there they learn who you are as a person Then when you apply with your basic skills already met there will be a a much better chance of them hiring you

      Yeah you need to go to vet school and get a diploma for that first before you can specialize as a wild life vet. Vet school is usually 5-6 years and then maybe 2-3 years for specializations

    I'm thinking about becoming a wildlife veterinarian lol.... do you happen to have any tips on what classes to take before college?? :)

    • @alyssastarr6857
      @alyssastarr6857 2 года назад +4

      A lot of science classes… mostly biology, general chemistry, possibly medical terminology, zoology, organic chemistry with lab, microbiology, which most are your pre-reps… to become a veterinarian it takes a doctorate which is 3-4 years undergrad (Bachelors) and up to 4 years grad (Dr) , so about 7-8 years. Most veterinarians get their Bachelors majored in Biology or Chemistry. I suggest getting all your pre-reps done at a local college to save your money, but also talk with an advisor at whatever colleges youre interested in to set up a educational plan. Hope this helps!

    I'm currently in the summer before my sophomore year and I've always wanted to work with animals. for the past 4 years I've been wanting to be an a regular vet working with house pets but for about a couple o months I've been really interested in becoming wildlife vet and its something I'm really interest in. However know it shouldn't matter but I'm worried about the salary. I've heard they don't get paid as much. :(

    I’m currently debating grad school or vet school right now to study Wildlife. I am more interested in research in population dynamics, however I can not decide if I want to focus on epidemiology and it’s effects on population or resource selection. For 1 vet school would help but not for the other.
