Great tutorial. Just wanted to add this. At 1:33 to drag the labels of your ring, press ESC first. Then you can select them. And at 1:48 you rotate. Since I'm a beginner I had to Google how to. You can either click your middle mouse button first, hold it, and then click your left mouse button to rotate. Or if the click function of your middle mouse button is broken like mine, use hold shift and then click right mouse button. Thanks for the tutorial. 😃
I am 2 hours into a five minute tutorial. I have four rings and I can't get rid of the other three without removing the last one. I just want to pull out all my hair. My computer does things that are unexplainable; it is as though it has its own mind and is working against me. I should just start over again but that would mean that I failed and I'm not ready to admit that yet.
I had to select "Fuse" in the array dialog for this to work on Freecad 0.21.2. Perhaps, because instead of on e cylinder I ws trying to cut with a fusion of three cylinders.
Good tutorial. I now know that I would have been completely lost if trying to tinker on my own -- there are too many esoteric elements to make intuitive sense to a lay person. That said. What is this madness! There has got to be a better way. I am repressing judgement until I become more knowledgeable, but my "WHY?!" reflex is being seriously triggered.
I have a lot of problems becose i have using autodesk inventor for a long long time. Now autodesk inventor is too expensive and for my hoby pojects i must learn new softwares and Free CAD is my first choice and i not reget it. So powerfull free software and so great. Just need some time to learn it ...
Need help at 3:26 I couldnt understand what he said. He says 3 parts but only selects 2? Also I dont have that cut tool anywhere. Is it only on the pro version or am I missing something?
I tried to make a cut on two shapes constructed with part-design workbench, but I failed. Is it mandatory (in order to work as intended) to use the part workbench? Other than that - hell of a video!
how to make two holes of different sizes? I first tried using one size and I was successful. Once "ring" and "polar array" are converted into "cut", how do I use "ring" again with another "polar array" of different size cylinder. In my project I need to make two holes of different sizes in a box, So I am using "array" instead of "polar array".
Thank you for the video and subscribed. Can you create a tutorial as how to go about designing a hollow cylindrical Stevenson screen enclosure (with vertically stacked circular louvers) for a DIY weather station.
For anyone that can't find the "auto constraints" setting, there is now a drop down menu next to where it says "filter" within the constraints box on the left.
he just explained it in this video. Watch the video again where he cuts the cylinder out of the ring. Select both parts and click the "Cut" tool button.
Can’t wait for more freecad tutorials. Your videos are very clear, concise and at a pace that newbies like myself can follow
Simple & straight forward thank you !
Will watch few times to get into my head
I don't have the auto constrain options. How do i get them?
Wonderful I appreciate your tutorials of freecad! Great contribution!
Thx, great you like it.

Nice tutorial man 👍 can i know your experience with freecad ?
Thank you, not as much as with Blender but a few years with some pauses:-)

Why cant i extrude on other planes? I tried but nothing happens.
I love this tutorial! Makes all the difference in making FreeCAD work for me.
Excellent, lucid explanation of principles. Thank you!
Thx a lot, great you like it
Great tutorial, really easy to follow! - Thanks Boss!
I learned how to use freecad with two of your tutorial videos. They are very explanatory and I was able to understand it properly.
I tried to make a cut on two shapes constructed with part-design workbench, but I failed. Is it mandatory (in order to work as intended) to use the part workbench? Other than that - hell of a video!
I am having exactly the same problem and have not yet figured out how to solve it
Very well presented and easy to understand. Paced just right for this CAD Newbie. Thank you
Your presentation was clear and I would have never figured this out. THANKS.

Impressive tutorial, hope u can do more of this its really helpful :)
Great tutorial. In your opinion is freecad similar to inventor?
I dont know inventor :-)
@@JayAnAm ah, OK. Well inventor is an expensive 3d autodesk program (same company that makes autocad)

Hi, how do i get the 'model' tab @ 2:00? I can not find it. Thanks, Greg
how to set those options on the left?
my array button doesn't have a drop down for polar
Was the same for me, I had to go to the array properties and select array type "polar" manually
Can you do a tutorial of the basic attached tutorial on freecad wiki. I really don't seem to understand it.
Thank you for all the great tutorials!
How would you subtract one part from another part? I'd like to make a sort of puzzle piece
he just explained it in this video. Watch the video again where he cuts the cylinder out of the ring. Select both parts and click the "Cut" tool button.
good pacae of instructions. i was able to create this object. thank you .
I am at the very end of this tutorial and it will not let me filet the part "selection is not in active body"
Thank you so much, this was exactly what I needed.
Very nice tutorial. Thanks bro 👍👍👍
Dzięki Pozdrawiam
As a long time Blender user, I am drooling right now...
Can you not constrain each end of the cylinder to the inside and outside of the ring?
Except - it does not work in 0.20.
Awesome video, easy to understand. Thanks
Thank You. I love it :)
how to thread these holes?
Love your videos; best I've found on the topic
More tutorial for free cad sir
will do
Thankyou very much.
Could anyone clarify what he is saying around 3:46 ? Control and what?
Ctrl Z
These tutorials are great, thank you
Very good. thanks for this.
