This is a quality tutorial. I learned a lot very quickly. That said, the sincerity of the narration “It is acceptable. We can do this” was absolutely the greatest thing ever.
Thank you, this presentation is excellent. We would like to have more of your presentations on using Freecad for woodworking designs and sheet metal designs.
At first, I was put off by the AI voiceover (I am opposed to this) but after reading the comments, I decided to watch, and this really does a good job of not only explaining HOW to do something, but WHY as well. I think it's going to help me wrap my head around using FreeCAD. I use Tinkercad heavily, but I am wanting to get away from the limitations of it.
just spent ages watching other videos that i just couldn't get my head around how to do some basic things, this was so simple to follow and understand all the basic features in such a short video 🙂
Your toolbars are different than what I just loaded (.21.2) Dimensions are not broken out, and extrude is one of many grey icons. Setting up toolbars to at least look like what you have should be lesson 1, right?

I concur. As a newbie in Freecad, just downloaded the latest AppImage version, and the toolbars are not similar, which makes more difficult to follow along the explanation.
@10:18 I had to remove vertical constraint to make if work because of redundancy. I suppose you have a setting to remove "old" redundancy constraint. I didn't finish, but thanks for this tutorial, which is quick and straight to the point. Is that a generated voice ? :D
Its so frustrating trying to follow along when the buttons on my version of FreeCAD are not in the same places as they are on your screen. I have to pause the video and hunt for the button. It really doesn't help that there don't appear to be any labels for these buttons either, just icons, so when you say click the 'create sketch' button, there really isn't a 'create sketch' button, its a 'square with overlapping circle' button. Like I'm supposed to know that is the 'create sketch' button? That said this is the first tutorial I've been able to follow AT ALL (and I'm not a dumb person most of the time :D ) so thanks.
You can re-organise the toolbars - Each toolbar has a dotted vertical line (the toolbar anchor) at the left side of each toolbar section. You can click and drag this anchor to move the toolbar sections around to your liking. The names of the menu icons appear if you move the mouse over an icon and wait for a second and a tool tip will pop-up and show the menu icon's name.
Draw it by hand with a pencil, or carve it into a stone tablet? The advantage of FreeCAD is that you can export the drawing to a 3D printer, if you use a pencil it will never be more than a piece of paper ;-)
Instead of calling them modules you should call them workbenches seeing how that's how it's labeled. Changing the name of functions to make it kind of confusing for new users.
Thank you for making this video. I have the same version 0.21.1. I'm new to this and need to design a Shower screen handle to 3D print, also some other bits and pieces. Chears.

Good enough is perfect
and always was
some obsessed with perfetion people overcomplicate things, practical eigineers call them "designers"
The narrator's voice is making me shed tears of joy after every successfully completed operation.
He sounds like a hungarian catholic priest in our town 😄
It's AI

Great walk through, I finally get it.
Great walkthrough!

Great video. Learned a lot.
But got to say... that AI Voice is so arrogant sounding :)

Very clear and to the point tutorial, just what I was looking for, THANKS
Just wow 😮

@@JasonJJasonJ yes thank you. I rearranged them as he had them in the video and it helped quite a bit.
superb
Is it possible to get the part as one homogeneous solid as in Catia?
What did you click to switch to extrusion ?
At what point? Maybe you mean the Reversed option?
IF you had said close after using the setcher then pads would have been avilble!
1up
why use an AI voice ? It's horrendous
fta
this software is actually the worst lol would much rather draw out by hand.
Is there an equivalent software that’s 100% free?
Draw it by hand with a pencil, or carve it into a stone tablet?

FreeCAD is a powerful tool, but you need to spend some time understanding and the basics.
Quality tutorial, I feel like it taught me the basics and why certain functions might be good as well as how to recover from mistakes
This tutorial is fabulous
Excellent video, thank you! The narrator's voice is so aggressive and rewarding at the same time. It's so forceful but informative!! :)

It's just nomenclature. I think even a beginner can handle it.

I disagree. It's better to stick with the standard terminology.

Chears.
Best presentation so far. Thank you
Just wow, very nicely explained...subscribed
I think you should use real voice or rent a person to do so
I'm considering various options.
i will build space engine after learning this tutorial !
