- Over the course of a few days we’ve gotten a huge array of photos from the set of Superman which has given us our best looks at the Superman suit, our first looks at most of the cast, certain characters and actors appearing in the movie and newly revealed villain we didn’t yet know will appear in the movie. We then also got some huge news regarding Lanterns and in this video I'll be breaking all of that down and giving my thoughts regarding everything.

I know that most people don't like David's Superman suit but hot take it's one of my favorite Superman suits
I think it’s fantastic! It looks like the classic suit modernized! Despite the New 52 esc collar, I will get used to it.

I honestly think it's just up to preference. Man of steel suit is more realistic and serious. While gunns superman is inherently more fantastical and comic book like. So it going to feel a little more absurd

this suit is so bad it has shaken my belief that James Gunn has good taste., and i loved the GoTG franchise. Its just a full-body denim tracksuit with boots and belt, no imagination and just trashy execution.
Gunn I hope the movie flops the way they did Henry Cavill told him he’s coming back as Superman and made him look like fool. It’s a lot behind that BS

I kind of hope they dont make Hal much older than John as there rumors that they wanna cast an actor between the ages of 43-50 which may show they may not wanna do much with him in the long run but maybe its wrong but man the suits so danm good and i love how theyre taking inspiration from different eras of Superman suits
My prediction.... Hal will be a fair bit older and will die in the Lanterns show. Then John Stewart will be the GL that joins the Justice League, which I'm fine with

@@Kalel2.0 I agree, I love Hal Jordan, but.... its the 21st century and given the choice of a white or black Lantern, they ain't gonna go with the white guy. Also.... we had that Hal Jordan film in 2011 which was, pretty bad. Makes sense for them to go with John Stewart

I really like John but Hals my favourite Lantern and I wouldnt wanna see him get sidelined unless they go the Parallax route and revive him later on😂 but hey whatever happens there's a positive as we're at least getting live action Green Lanterns under a regime that'll do them justice and I respect your opinion and definitely see your point
These set photos show us that James Gunn is going for an incredibly comic book accurate take on the DCU. The Superman suit is absolutely perfect imo and he and Mr Terrific look like they jumped straight out of the comics. The Daily Planet cast look fantastic and all fit their roles perfectly.
Hell he could have done that with Henry Cavill plus they canceled the titans and Lois and Superman Series if he’s such a good director why you need to cancel those series.
@@anthonykitchen2836 Why would he have done it with Cavill? The DCU is a reboot of all major characters. S&L had a 4 season run and was told to finish on their 4th so DC can focus on one cinematic Superman. S&L has had an incredible run! And Titans was atrocious and should have been cancelled years ago

I really hope lanterns last multiple seasons. A long-running Green Lantern show on HBO with a budget similar to the house of the dragon could be amazing
I'd rather a one season mini series that leads into a movie series. The Lanterns' true potential lies in the cosmos.
I would like a movie series running beside the HBO show with the movies are with Hal Jordon and the show after season 1 focus on John Stewart and Guy Gardner
Say what !! So they cancel DC the Titans and Lois and Superman and star girl but doing a green lantern series talk about power head. I hope their DC true fans and boycott the Superman movie their wasn’t anything wrong with Snyder verse version they were scared had he made the next Superman verses Darkside it would e a hit and then they couldn’t fired him or justify going into another direction with Superman

I really like the color palette. And I like how his suit resembles what people wear when racing sport motorcycles.
As for Lois Lane, she looks freaking fantastic!!😃 FINALLY, a Lois Lane that looks like Lois Lane! Love her in the purple.

I find it so funny the contrast between the realistic spec ops soldiers and a farm boy in red trunks right next to each other. It’s a fever dream that we’re getting this kind of comic book portrayal in the modern day. Seeing so many bright colored superhero’s ripped straight out of the comics in our streets just looks so odd yet so awesome.
I think my only critique about the suit is I feel the symbol on the cape could’ve been slightly bigger but that’s honestly just a nitpick on my part
It should have been the same size as the one in his chest.
Ok, I have to say that I downright LOVE Mr. Terrific's costume. He looks fantastic! Superman's suit looks a lot better here than it does in the actual promo art. As far as messy haired Clark Kent, I don't mind it. It gives him a distinguished look. Remember, Cavill also had that hairstyle in Man of Steel, and he ended up cutting it for Batman v Superman, so I don't know why people are freaking out so much.
As far as the Lanterns show goes, I'm extremely excited to see where it goes. Watching the laid back but still serious Hal Jordan interact with the stern John Stewart is going to be amazing! Super exciting ideas brewing over at DC!
The best take on the suit so far
So far, everyone in Superman looks good. I'm pretty sure the other 3 heroes are going to have comic accurate designs as well if that's what Mr. Terrific and Superman look like.
Edi Gathegi getting redemption as Mr. Terrific after how Xmen killed his Darwin character is what I'm here for. This movie and its big cast of characters isn't a concern for me since Black Adam did a half decent job of this. Can't wait
I still think it's too many characters in one movie. It's like the studio doesn't believe that Superman is enough of a box office draw by himself
I highly agree. Mr Terrific, metamorpho, Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl are unnecessary. Maxwell Lord and the engineer are unnecessary. There are many characters uncessary characters in this movie and making things complicated. If Ultraman and Solaris are both in this film it is worse.
James Gunn does not know how to start a universe. The first Iron Man movie worked because it was a great Iron Man movie- not soley an Avengers set up movie. Yes there was small set ups but it was an Iron Man movie first.
That's Gunn. If u notice he doesn't know how to write for one single character. Every movie he has made has been a bunch of people. Don't think he can write for one character. I remember people saying ww and the video cameos of the justice league was too much on bvs but 55 characters in first Superman movie seems ok.. think the main people that like this stuff really just like gunn

I disagree they're trying to establish an already existing universe with heroes in it. I doubt many of the other heroes will be major parts or will even be shown as a major selling point in marketing tbh.
I don't think that's quite it. It's sort of doing what BvS promised to do, put Superman in a bigger established DC universe.
I am thinking that is indeed a version of Ultraman. Like, Gunn is known for basically taking the name of a character and making a whole new one based on it, look at Eco from Guardians 2, or even a lot of the Guardians themselves.

Clark's Hair isn't Gen Z, it's just what a person with wavy hair looks like when you don't fix it up, as someone woth wavy hair I can say that my hair always looks like that when I wake up before I do my hair.
Wavy hair has always been around but the male perm broccoli style is a recent thing

David Corenswet's Suit is probably may new favorite Superman suit as it combines my 3 personal favorites.
The Kingdom Come logo is my favorite logo as it feels more Kryptonian to me then the S. However, I totally see him getting the iconic og S at the end of the movie.
The New 52 Suit is my favorite comic suit next to rebirth. Because of this I love the Collar (just wish it had the red outline) and I've never minded the line work.
Lastly, if you do trunks you need a yellow belt, but if you don't do trunks you need a red belt. A yellow belt on it's own feels like it's missing something to me personally.
This suit is easily my favorite version of trunks Superman.
If this guy with big U on his chest is Ultraman, it would look like Black Noir's secret identity reveal in the boys comic.
The lens on the mask resembles that of Doomsday’s. I like that detail in the suit

Lois should be wearing that white mini skirt like in the animated series. Mr Terrific looks straight out the CW Flash series. Hopefully, Luthor gets his Power Suit this time around.
I love this suit the more i look at it. Its like a modernized version of the reeves suit. i like the suit doesn't rely a lot on muscle definition as its more so David just filling the suit naturally as im reminded physically he's our biggest superman to date, and it shows. I like there's actually been an effort for clarks disguise i like he looks like the biggest pushover😂
I swear the first reveal of the suit we got in April really didn't do this suit justice because OMG THIS IS PEAK SUPERMAN🤩🔥
I truly love how much the colours really pop on the suit and David Corenswet looks perfect as Superman and as Clark Kent (really dig the curly messy hair).

i love the colors and the design of the suit... but i'm not sure about the material. there's some angles where it feels like there's padding and looks bulky on david. there's also the way it bunches around the rib area that looks meh.

I prefer Green Lantern origin movie to fix the last disaster with the movie of Ryan Reynolds. The first movie about Hal Jordan character and this movie show John Steward, Guy Gardner, Laira, Kilowog, Jessica Cruz and Simon Bass and Sinestro zcorps as main villain
Gunn is desperate to obliterate all traces of the Snyderverse, even if it means half-assed costumes like these. Mark my words, this will blow!

I don't know if these people who don't like David's suit have seen any Superman media outside of the Snyderverse; they don't know trunks have always been an integral part of his design. These characters are 100 years old; you can't have them looking the same all the time. Also, the trunks for me embrace the silly and absurd side of comics. I mean, people take all this stuff seriously; they want to get rid of the goofy charm when in reality the trunks are just as absurd as a guy without wings flying and shooting lasers from his eyes and Batman and Superman? Let's be real, those are not cool names; those are names designed for kids in the 40s to pick up a comic book.

The suit gives off All Star Superman vibes which is great that's one of the best Superman stories ever. I love the bright colors finally a colorful Superman. I despised Snyder's Superman it was a terrible take on the character. Snyder tried to deconstruct a character he clearly didn't understand. Hopefully we get the dorky boyscout from the comics. I prefer my Superman to be lighthearted rather than a total edgelord.
I think Superman should go w/o the trunks. It just gives a cleaner look.

@@BusterBarnes honestly my biggest problem I had is how baggy it was & how it had many lines in it alongside the collars (I know it's from the New 52 stuff, but still). Other than that, yeah it's a cool Superman costume (But I still think Tyler Hoechlin Suit in Superman & Louis is my favorite Superman Suit sinces i'm more of a sucker of the Rebirth Suit)
Those trunks don't fit well at all, none of it fits well. The idea of fighting in that cape makes me think of the jokes of heroes dying due to their cloaks.

hate the red trunk.. looks like a red diaper... i get that it was in the comics like that, but the comics is from 1938.. Batman also had a dark trunk in the past, but in liver action, it was converted into the suit , and also vanished all together. and looks better then ever... so by that logic i say the red Trunk has to go. i mean if you do a CW like peachy teen show or even kids show, or cartoon for kids, i dont mind it, but if you do a movie, i want a serious tone movie like Man of Steel, not some campy "fun" movie, i am grow up man, if you want campy make ma elastic man movie, that is his tone. thats why i prefer the DC animated stuff, like Superman and Shazam against Black Adam, Planet War, ect.. gritty for grown ups..
Superman’s trunks have already been brought back in the comics. So the 1938 statement doesn’t hold up. Plus if you want to watch a gritty Superman film then just watch Man of Steel, as you mentioned it yourself. Besides, just because he has trunks does not mean it’s going to be a “campy” movie. In fact none of james gunns movies have been campy. Funny? Yes. Campy? No. Wait til the movie comes out before you judge it.
