Several of the performances in the contest were done as "challenges," namely doing a song and performance outside of their comfort zone and different from the genres that they're used to. In my opinion, Lee Hi was one of the more courageous contestants in taking on relatively high-risk challenges. This one was probably her first try at a 100% dance-style song. So it definitely wan't perfect, but had some really good bits in it. I give her extra credit for pushing herself into new territory.

This might not have been the BEST performance she gave on kpop star but if she hadn't performed this song I don't think she would have gotten the confidence to try new things on stage no matter what and if she performed this right now after debut ... she would kill it.
She can sing other songs and make it like her own. . . that's why she won the contest.

i think she has expression, unique one. i don't have idea that you've been observing her, watch her 3 newest mv, it has 3 different concept and i think her expression suit her voice and that is cool.

I completely agree with you!! It was the same for me... Good teachers are very veery helpful, but most of your improvement comes from your own personal effort! In fact, praising Simon's ability as an English teacher wasn't my main point. What I really wanted was to promote Eat Your Kimchi channel, because I would like to see it growing.. Simon and Martina are brave entrepreneurs. It's not easy to create a business in a foreign country...

i think its the perfect song choice..listen to her studio version and u'll c what i mean.. the problem is that the dancing distracted her and confused her. her studio version became so popular that it topped the Daum music chart many times in the week of its release and its still popping into the top 50 even 2 weeks after

yes, i do remember that the judges did mention about her facial expression. a good singer needs to show emotions in their voice, face expression, and dancing in my opinion. she does however approve after episode 15 or so. lol

I think she did pretty good at this. She gave off a subtle sexy vibe. Though I do think she should've put a bit more energy to her performance. I guess Jamie Cullum's version of the song would've fitted her better since it's more jazzy.
