Diana's sum doesn't even count her #2, #5, and top 10, 20 and 40 hits before, during and after these 17 years. Madonna/Whitney couldn't and didn't take anything from Diana Ross. ✔️
I love, love, love this performance. I recall seeing this show in its first broadcast. It is evident that Diana, while in her outstanding performance mode, was also giving directions to the sound guys that she needed to hear more of her voice (or maybe even the instruments) through her monitor. She didn't miss a beat. When she came back on to do "Voice of the Heart" later, you better believe she probably heard herself very well as evidenced by how upfront the her vocal was in the mix. LOVE IT.
If Diana Ross worked with David Foster, he would have helped her come back big time bad. He's worked with all of the Divas, Whitney Houston (RIP), Yolanda Adams, Nathalie Cole (RIP), Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand (Her Idol).
