I like most of the Mario figures that SH Figuarts make, but couldn't they make the Bowz like 6 inches at least? It's kinda sad that the World of Nintendo version is better. Yoshi was okay, but not the best. They just can't get reptiles right.

Couldn't agree more! The Jakks Bowser is just AWESOME - for the money. I honestly thought it was marked down when I had originally found it. 15 is just a steal for the size of the thing. Paint ain't perfect, but he'll look amazing in a display. I'm honestly surprised the Figuarts one came out THAT small, much less at 50 bucks.

If the Figuarts Bowser was just as big as the Jakks one then the $50 dollar price would be fair, but him being so damn small it's really not worth getting the figure.

They should just do a remake of every figure but when it comes to Bowser i don't care if he had the same issues other then his smallness he just needs to be bigger. every one knows S.H. Figuarts could do better and we all know it.
I got mine today at the Nintendo Store in NY, Honestly I really like this figure. Sure it's small scaled, But It's still such a nice Bowser figure.
I mean give him some elbows and needs and he'd be a perfect figure, but honestly even without that he doesn't seem to be that bad of a figure, I'd certainly buy it
I disagree with you on Mario, I think he's easily worth the original $25 dollar price and a very good figure overall.

I've accepted the faults with this figure and found a way to make it work with Mario. Instead a posing him with SH Mario I decided to get the smaller Nendoroid Mario and SH Bowser works great with him in terms of scale.
If you think about browsers size Is really inconsistent There are some iterations where hes massive And then there are some where hes around the same height as Mario Heck in super Mario They went the retro size Not that much taller compared to Mario It's weird
I would have spent $70-100 on a nice big articulate bowser with tail articulation. multiple limb articulation. maybe some extra mario hands to grip his tail and a stand to put them in the pose where mario is spinning bowser around (mario 64)

As a collector of 1/18 action figures
This will go perfectly with my articulated 2.5 inch Jakks pacific Mario
If mario can't scale with bowser then use godzilla instead to make things better for the size comparison and I got mine on my birthday and it scales great with godzilla so far so say what you want about this bowser figure at least it will scale great with godzilla more than mario.
You and I disagree on S.H. Mario & Luigi - we can agree to disagree. The playsets are pretty well done, if not expensive. Adequate.
THIS Bowser figure is a huge steaming pile of $hit! I would never, EVER spend that kind of money on such a ridiculous figure. Jakks has this beaten by a mile, and at more than 1/2 the cost. I mix-n'-match now depending on how important they are to me.
I'm done with my Mario collection. No more money to either company. Now I'm focusing on Kirby, and Link (Majora's Mask) Nendoroids for my Smash Collection.

I had it preordered for months but thanks that it got delayed so much I reconsidered it and cancelled the preorder because it didn't look that well. Good review, it feels like I dodged a bullet by not getting it.
The main thing that sold me on the SH Figuarts Bowser is the fact I've bought the entire line so far. Although that may soon end. I can kiiiinda tolerate a $50 Bowser, but $40ish for Lakitu, Hammer Bro, and Spiney is just ridiculous. And half-heartedly dishing out $30 for what's basically a repaint of regular Mario with a few new accessories. If they keep up with these prices, I'll just be content with my collection where it's at. (Unless they release one including Toad. Haha!)

Well! Bowsers size is based on his height in the original Super Mario Bros and his small size in Super Mario Maker.

I feel your frustration Anthony..seems when something goes mainstream...even high quality toy manufacturer's. ..when presented with a mainstream market quality ALWAYS dips.
I know that the figure might not be the Coolest in accessories and articulation but the sculpt and scale are perfect in my eyes and I say that because I will definitely use this Bowser for Jakks 2.5 inch line since he's in perfect scale for those figures. Is this comment 6 years too late?

There comes a time when a cheaper action figure surpasses the more expensive one and this is the time the world of Nintendo Bowser pretty much Beats sh figuarts Bowser when it comes to articulation but not range but the world Nintendo Bowser has good enough range for the price point. So if you want a highly articulated Bowser you might just stick with the world Nintendo series.

Bandai just can't hit that balance on these smoother designs. The old Pokemon D-Arts figures had tons of articulation but it really ruined the look with so many segments and cuts, seems like they went in the complete opposite direction with this line, giving nowhere near the amount of movement but keeping the sculpts nice.
I'd buy it just to have him looking over another figure's shoulder with the weird outstretched neck.
Now that we have articulated 2.5 inch Mario and Luigi figures and a nice 4 inch DK in the Jakks line I suddenly want this originally mediocre and easily passable figure. Too bad It’s trippled in price.
If you don't want sh figuarts bowser I'll have it and I live in Michigan paw paw.

I bought my first Hot Toys. I know you're not a big fan of Hot Toys, but are there any Hot Toys that you do want to get?
The stand is like that because SH Figuarts couldn't be bothered with figuring out where to stick a stand along that back/tail of Bowser's. Not saying that's a good excuse, but it's probably the truth.
The neck joint has this weird angle, sure, but I'm not entirely sure they included it with the intent of you (the buyer) actually using it...at all, really.
Sad to say people get greedy and overprice the World of Nintendo Bowser to be $100+ now...just because something is rare doesn't mean it's going to have high value. There's one place on Amazon that sells it for $172!

I wish they'd take a note from late 2000 early 2010's HG Gundams when it comes to display stands in figures, where they'd give you a plug to place inside the hole so you don't see the hole for the stand when you don't want to. Unfortunately they don't do that anymore, just leave us with holes like with this guy.

I REALLY don't mean to sound dirty...but the hole for the stand is REALLY in the wrong place.

I was disappointed in the Mario figure as well, but I also found him largely forgivable because he's a lot cheaper than most Figuarts, and comes with some fun accessories. Bowser at BBTS is $64. He's more than most of the Dragonball Figuarts, and those guys are awesome. If he cost as much as Mario I would at least consider him, but at $50 he's clearly overpriced IMO, and at $64 he's completely unreasonable.
But at least he looks good just standing there, which is more than I can say for Pikachu.

TEN TO FIFTEEN DOLLARS MY ASS! I've spent almost TWO YEARS NOW LOOKING FOR THAT FUCKING JAKKS BOWSER AND IT'S NEVER AVAILABLE. Toys R Us is THE ONLY PLACE that sells it, and lucky me, the TRU where I like happens to be THIRTY MINUTES AWAY. So on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, I've spent SIXTY MINUTES GOING TO AND FROM THAT HELLHOLE. What's even better is that it took MONTHS FOR TRU TO ADD THE ITEM TO THEIR WEBSITE, and by the time I realized they did (around October 2015), IT WAS OUT OF STOCK. "oh, but hey, don't worry! you can just order it online from somewhere else, right?" WRONG. EVERY SINGLE ONLINE RETAILER PRICES THAT FUCKER FOR FIFTY DOLLARS!! AND I HAVE BEEN CHECKING EBAY THE WHOLE TIME AND THEIR ISN'T A SINGLE FAIR DEAL TO BE SEEN. I'm sorry, but even though the Figuarts Bowser is not to scale, there is NO WAY IN HELL you are going to get the Jakks one at this point (unless you want to spend $50, of course).

I'm glad I skipped this line! What a let down! It's like Figuarts has had so much success, that now they think they can just put out any garbage attached to a famous license and people will buy regardless. (not me) Make them step up they're quality!

I mentioned something like this in the Mario review I think but you gotta remember Nintendo has to ok the figures so it's not completely up to bandai, and also they probably went for an accurate to the game look. No shading, no extra articulation, BRIGHT ass colors, ect. So im guessing that because they like to be accurate to the source OR Nintendo themselves wouldn't allow crazy articulated figures that look like hybrids of the game movements is why they didn't "go the extra mile". However I still think they could of given him a freakin elbow and knee joint but who knows.
Also I wonder if the bicep swivel was put there for the younger generation that may not know how ball hinges work extactly. There has to be a reason they put it there even if it is stupid. I didn't realize bowser from Jakks Pacific was so much bigger. $50 is a rip off for this guy yikes
