- After nearly 7 years, the world record for this game has finally been beaten. This run had insanely godlike RNG, and I capitalized off of most of it but sadly made some nearly fatal mistakes at the end. In this game, characters join your party with randomized stats for Strength, Power (Energy Attacks), and Endurance (Defense). Ideally, you want every character to join your party with as high of a strength stat as possible so that your punches deal more damage, ultimately saving time from any segment where you have to fight a lot of enemies or any bosses.
I got extremely high rolls for every character's strength, even getting a maximum roll for Goku's strength with 65 Str. This allowed me to save an extremely large amount of time on a lot of splits, but unfortunately I lost 45 seconds of time before the very end of the run due to dying as Gohan on his level grinding split, and generally having a slow grind. He starts grinding to level 24 from Level 11, so he has very low damage and defense versus level 30 gators on the island. It's one of the most dangerous splits in the game, and since I died once already I tried to be extra safe on my retry to keep my run alive. Thankfully I pulled through, and with some pretty solid Cell Games/Cell Jr. Fights i was able to bring the record down by over a minute.

This is the most random recommendation in my feed I've ever gotten, but i am not angry about it, this game was a huge part of my childhood and i am once again reminded that NOTHING is safe from speed running lolol

This game was crack. Such a big step up from the first game, the same way Mortal Kombat 2 was a giant step up from MK1 in the 90's. Even came with a dope ass poster and the cover is sick.
I like how you can fight android 20 with vegeta in this game unlike the anime/manga.
For sure man, the upgrade was insane and the game was so sick when it came out and still is today. Still remember going to the store and buying it and not putting it down for like a year straight as a kid lol

1:20:41 When I was a small child, I remember power leveling all my characters through that level 40 door. You can hit the dinosaurs through it and get massive exp very early on!

The run is definitely far from optimized humanly, even without my mistakes its close to 7 mins slower than the TAS

That run is a TAS run, meaning it is a tool assisted Speedrun. Bonecrusher is the TASer, they programmed that entire run frame by frame with emulator tools to see how fast the game could theoretically be if played perfectly, rather than running it in real time without external tools like I did.
Hey man, I started speedrunning this game today (first speedrun ever :D ) I am learning the game for now and almost can get a good pase. And I made up a new tactic that I am actually 100% sure of it being faster. I even tested it already. It is an actuall level tact that I discovered when I played this game when I was younger. I hope I can uploade a strong run soon! Or maybe even a WR. I am coming for you! :D

@@Glitchedd Thank you!, Man, while playing myself I now understand how crazy your vegita is. I am doing 58 dmg on ondroid 19. But even with that dmg you can kill him just in time befroe super sayen turns off.
@@GentlemanJasper Yep, you just want to have some ki remaining so you can go SSJ for again foe android 20 and make that fight fast too. If you have low str you run out of SSJ before a fights over and just do less damage in general so you lose a lot of time

Here's the one that I have. Ive been using it for PS2 lately and it's done pretty well, but it doesn't have compatibility with GameCube/Wii/N64 without an additional add on. I'm unsure if there are other brands/manufacturers that are all in one, but there should be a photo and info on the compatible consoles in the listing description.

I dunno if this is well known or just isn’t a viable strategy but with Trunks sword slash energy attack if you are close enough to your opponent you’ll get a double hit. Only mentioning this as I’ve just randomly discovered it after replying them game and thought it was neat
Yeah it's definitely really good when it happens, it's just somewhat unreliable to set up because trunks charge attack takes so much longer to actually release than the other characters. If you wait just a pinch too long you get destroyed for trying lmao
I just realized you meant the energy attack, my bad lmao. I was talking about the charge punch.
That energy slash double hit is great for setting up for the flip punch combos where you flip the enemy up and down with up punch/down punch. It can also do it's own flip combos.
Overall punching in Super Saiyan is stronger because characters start with higher strength than power (energy), so we don't want to use the sword slash too much since super Saiyan shares the same kid bar as the attack, so we revert to base form faster using it. The old world record used it a lot more but I found out it was faster to just punch as fast as you can instead

You can with your scouter yes, but you don't have to in the Speedrun at all.
