This game was crack. Such a big step up from the first game, the same way Mortal Kombat 2 was a giant step up from MK1 in the 90's. Even came with a dope ass poster and the cover is sick. I like how you can fight android 20 with vegeta in this game unlike the anime/manga.

And I made up a new tactic that I am actually 100% sure of it being faster. I even tested it already. It is an actuall level tact that I discovered when I played this game when I was younger. @@Glitchedd Thank you!, Man, while playing myself I now understand how crazy your vegita is. I am doing 58 dmg on ondroid 19. But even with that dmg you can kill him just in time befroe super sayen turns off.
@@GentlemanJasper Yep, you just want to have some ki remaining so you can go SSJ for again foe android 20 and make that fight fast too. If you have low str you run out of SSJ before a fights over and just do less damage in general so you lose a lot of time

Thanks! That run is a TAS run, meaning it is a tool assisted Speedrun. Bonecrusher is the TASer, they programmed that entire run frame by frame with emulator tools to see how fast the game could theoretically be if played perfectly, rather than running it in real time without external tools like I did.
I dunno if this is well known or just isn’t a viable strategy but with Trunks sword slash energy attack if you are close enough to your opponent you’ll get a double hit. Only mentioning this as I’ve just randomly discovered it after replying them game and thought it was neat
Yeah it's definitely really good when it happens, it's just somewhat unreliable to set up because trunks charge attack takes so much longer to actually release than the other characters. If you wait just a pinch too long you get destroyed for trying lmao
I just realized you meant the energy attack, my bad lmao. I was talking about the charge punch. That energy slash double hit is great for setting up for the flip punch combos where you flip the enemy up and down with up punch/down punch. It can also do it's own flip combos. Overall punching in Super Saiyan is stronger because characters start with higher strength than power (energy), so we don't want to use the sword slash too much since super Saiyan shares the same kid bar as the attack, so we revert to base form faster using it. The old world record used it a lot more but I found out it was faster to just punch as fast as you can instead
@@MomijiSour Yep, the game doesn't actually give you characters with a flat base stat. Instead what it does is it applies the "level up" stat formula for every level of theirs. When you level up in this game you get random stat points from 0-2. So if you get Vegeta at level 25, the game levels him from 1-25 before you get him, and sometimes he will roll a lot of +1's or +0's on his stats, making him weak.

The stats they start with are the result of the game leveling them up from level 1 to the level you acquire them at, so if vegeta starts at level 25 he will roll 0-2 in each stat 25 times (once for each level)
@@Glitchedd So a 2/2/2 is possible in every level? I use save states and at lv3 Gohan always seems to get 2/2/1 or 2/1/1. I just went with the 2/2/1. At lv 4 he allways seems to get 2/1/1 or 1/1/1.
I'm not sure if it's possible on every level, what I explained is unfortunately the extent of my knowledge. The guys who made the TAS would probably have more info for you, and some old discussion can be found in the discord server on the speedrun.com page for the game under the gba-data channel for dragon ball
@@Glitchedd I just looked up the TAS. They write in the description that sprinting for example forwards RNG. I tryed it and the numbers changed. First level vor gohan seems to be hardcoded to 1/1/1 though

Yeah pretty much done for now until something new changes the route or someone tries to compete with me The run is definitely far from optimized humanly, even without my mistakes its close to 7 mins slower than the TAS
