keep in mind you have to google valorant to download it, so everytime someone downloads valorant it's going to add to the google trend graph. also a raise or dip in searches does not correlate with the players, for example where apex legends peaks in google searches they had 300k peak players around that time, but a year later apex gets half to a third of the google searches but peaks at 600k players

We know that Americans can't keep playing the same game for too long cause they get bored so naturally NA gives massives boost for Valorant. Also we need to keep in mind that Valorant is the new hot transfer student everyone's wants to chat. I personally like Valorant but I dislike RIOT games. I think Valve has a poor marketing strategy compared to Riot. I can see it because I'm not from NA, where the Valorant community is growing and CS is getting quieter, and I have trouble finding a team to play with in CS.
Valve has never relied on marketing. Their games are usually more polished and stable than any other competitor. Also many people chose play Valorant because of it's accessibility (or to follow streamers). Better 128 tick servers, easier visibility, better anticheat and more content. As soon as CS2 comes out and Valve releases all this, then the real competition begins.
