This video took a week to make being the (second now) longest one on the channel with 30 songs (originally it was 40 but I scrapped the other 10). A week just for 11 minutes of music, what a time.

I used to play Genshin Impact while on Discord voice chat with a wonderful person. I will call her Alice, for privacy. She was delightful to talk to, and we often spent entire nights grinding character items and primogems. While I couldn't say for sure if I had romantic feelings for her at the time, we discussed many personal topics and even played with our webcams on. We exchanged phone numbers, so I believe she trusted me as a friend. She was from Taiwan, and she was quite beautiful. Her English was impeccable, and thanks to her, I improved my own speaking skills. She was full of life, always laughing, and I never saw her sad or tired. Just a few days before the release of the Fontaine update, she suddenly stopped playing. Concerned, I asked her why, and she informed me she was in the hospital and asked me not to worry. Wanting her to rest, I didn't message her as often. However, when she didn't respond to two messages in a row, I started to panic and texted her more frequently, receiving no replies. Two days later, I received a message in broken English, likely translated, informing me she had passed away and thanking me for making her laugh. Confused, I reached out to find out what had happened, only to discover it was her sister who had texted me. She explained that her sister had died due to an illness: aortic dissection. After some more conversations with her sister, I learned that she had struggled greatly at school, leading her to withdraw socially. She often took morning walks in the park when most of her peers were in school, and had even attempted suicide once. She rarely found joy and laughter. Her sister also revealed that Alice had intended to send me a gift. Now, her family wishes to invite me to their home in Taiwan to personally receive Alice's gift and to show me how much I meant to her, because she apparently wrote about me in her diary. Memories of our fun times together flooded my mind and I broke soon after the conversation, and after, I found it difficult to play Genshin Impact with music on without crying. Some days after, a week or so, after it was released, it took me almost 3 hours to complete the Furina questline because it reminded me a lot of my friend and I needed some time to myself now and then to ... process my thoughts. Although this was originally meant to be a lighthearted video, I want to remind everyone to treat those around you with kindness. You never know the challenges someone may be facing. She didn't deserve the hardships she endured, and she certainly didn't deserve to die. Now, the music is helping me cope. It reminds me of those memories-not to make me sad, but to bring a smile, knowing she may now be in a better place. I'm grateful for the time we spent together.
My sincere condolences to Alice and her family, I wish you and all of them an easy life. This was a very impacting comment to read and although it is a very sombre topic, I am glad I was at least able to let you look back on the good times with this video. I won't push any further since it is not my place to do so, but please if you end up having any negative thoughts, make sure to reach out to your close ones whenever you can, and keep moving forward.

HoYo mix never disappoints in it's music. Genshin is one of the few games where the music really feels like it sets the stage for the content, and part of my excitement for content is purely for the upcoming music. ♡♡

most of the notable songs can be found in game through the spincrystals that you find exploring but it can be tedious having to find certain discs just to figure out the name of a song so i get what you're saying, if you're lucky though genshin does post special EP videos on their youtube for certain songs so it's good to look out for those as well

The ever-expanding desert and filler patches burnt me out. It felt so refreshing to come back for Fontaine as it reinvigorated my passion for exploring this beautiful world and of course the ost's that came with it.

I remember playing Yoimiya’s act 2 quest after being excited for over a month (I’d been looking at leaks) When that cutscene played, and Chasing Starlight with You played, I just started crying, it was a highlight reason as to why I loved Genshin, it’s music, and Yoimiya too
unfortunately there isn't enough material to work with to a good amount with The Chasm, despite it being one of my favourite areas music wise, but i have showcased themes from The Chasm in previous videos, e.g. Inevitable Conflict, Irresistible Force, Dreaming Earth, so you can check those out if you want.

Fontaine music is light and good but my favourite is sumeru and Inazuma ost so far. Especially port ormos and that eternal oasis and many more.
