Exactly correct, not only do the vehicles sell themselves because they do everything they were expected to do, (promises made redundant!), just this reason has built the momentum of/by Word of Mouth, and that has kept production engaged with anyone who judges by quality over price/quantity.., i.e., if you are getting more than you could expect anywhere else, it's worth working harder to cover the difference, and this universe of quantization calculations is all relative-timing Difference Potential. So 15k workers fired? Let’s say $100k/yr each. Saving $1.5B/year.
Not bad, until you realise the compensation package that Elon wants is the equivalent of all those peoples’ wages for 37 years. Let that sink in.

Tesla needs to make its service much better.
Only satisfied costumers will advertise their products to friends and family. Gaining new consumers is expensive so it makes sense not to loose them.
Lots of costumers have been pissed off by really bad service, at least here in Germany.
    That’s unfortunate!
Building up reputation by giving at least a good service is paramount.

There seems to be 2 ways for Car Manufacturers to make money.
    1. Make large, expensive truck-like cars, and sell them at a high price. (Ford, GM) - ultimately , the average Joe can't afford them.
    2. Make a smaller vehicle, at an affordable price. (Not Ford or GM).

Finally. Root out the people who are antithesis to your core beliefs. You need to advertise. You have your own Tesla platform you provide information and details of your EVs. The technologies and benefits. You have insights of your EVs no advertising agents and agencies can convey. Create contents to educate you customers and potential customers. Talk about the future directions the company is heading and how it’s going to benefit them beyond The Green mantra, but how Tesla’s products and ethos reflect their needs and it’s the best products on the market. Tell a story how Tesla can and have created not just the future but brings back the fond memories of the ‘50s, ‘60s when the automobiles provided freedom of mobility and wholesome family experiences and Tesla’s mission to fulfill and revive that spirit. Your products will sell to the greater public NOT ONLY because it’s green but it brings back the American spirit.

You just did a great job of giving us an overview of their underlying marketing strategy. And yes, to date it has worked very well indeed. The trick moving forward is positioning to the mainstream audience outside of the influencers you note and for that, as you rightly suggest there are multiple inputs to process. For example, most people still perceive Tesla as a high end, premium, premium priced product. Truth is, as you state, you can get a Model 3 today for nearly the cost of a higher end Camry. So there is more to do here to get this part of the message across. Another> Most folks are still hung up on range anxiety, no matter how many Tesla Superchargers there are and that they see. Paid advertising could help here, with a focus on driving (no pun intended) word of mouth from normal folks in terms of how easy and extensive the coverage is, and how easy it is to charge at home, which you have drill in to to figure out. Etc. Etc. So I guess re: paid advertising for the Car... lesson learned. That's not where the game needs to be played. I would argue however there is opportunity and high potential reward to support going to the next level sales wise, sooner than later with a different more strategic marketing perspective using advertising on a different more focused level. This would also address Elon Musk's comment about the ads looking, sounding the same as everyone else. He is right there. They really do need and can go down a different path.

I disagree, for if I worked for a company that lays off people that under perform I would work harder and smarter and prove to the company that I am an asset and not a liability. In most very successful non-union businesses they lay off 5 to 10% of their workforce every year or so after their annual review of staff performance and hire other staff to take their place to improve productivity. And so it should be for if staff under perform that means that they need to find another job elsewhere where they can perform well. And if they don't perform well at any job that is just a sign of lack of personal discipline and/ or laziness.

Elon Musk not only fired Tesla's marketing team for under performing, he also fired his super charging team. And this makes perfect sense in business for if you are not a financial asset to Tesla you become a liability. Tesla's super charging equipment has already reached its full potential in development and all that is left is install these super chargers in various locations where they are needed, which does not require an expensive super charging development team, but site construction teams.
What Elon Musk does well is do cost benefit analysis wherever this is needed. Media marketing for Tesla, unless it is target specific leading to greater ev sales, is a waste of money. Tesla has proven it can grow sales fast without media marketing by just delivering great products consumers buy.
In the end Elon Musk and his Tesla brand will continue to do cost benefit analysis and create lower labour and production costs together with higher efficiency vehicles that consumers want. It is the only formula for business success!

Can you believe they only show stock photos & not photos of the actual used you are ordering online with a non- refundable $250 deposit on that unseen $30-50k used car 🤷‍♂️ even if the have a car your interested in locally you absolutely can’t actually go look at it

Tesla’s market research needs considerable improvement. They have placed too much focus on acceleration which appeals to a very small audience. They have missed the pickup truck audience who tows and given that away to Chevy Silverado which is nothing more than a very big battery.
If you want to hear why EV adoption has hit a roadblock, simply ask your friends, relatives, and acquaintances. It’s not rock-science: range anxiety; cost; charging challenges; cold weather degradation; etc. Tesla needs a model 2.
But I disagree with OP, S3XY are not all sedans. X & Y qualify as SUVs, while Y is a small suv and closer to a crossover.

I believe if the potential buyer is serious the consumer can very easily find the cost of the car via the internet and TESLA's website.
Tesla should create more content on their website. Advertise, if you will, on their own website. Provide insight into their products and the benefits of the new technology built into the vehicle. In doing so, they can educate the potential buyers and debunk the "lies" and "misconceptions" the "media" created.

Institutional investors like Gerber, Mertz and Black are old school singleminded thinkers who know nothing about anything other than counting beans, and since the $100 days have spent all their time bashing Tesla, Elon and the strategy all the while torch and pitchfork style calling for adverts. Well once again, Elon was correct with his thinking and showed that with paradigm shifting disruption legacy mentality is prehistoric. However, to Elon’s credit, he did listen and conducted the experiment. As far as lack of adverts; no lack at all. The humans that understand will do a great deal of the work converting. A large portion of converts will do a great deal as well. Pseudo intellectual liberal types and uninformed conservative types won’t have much choice in the matter once legacy auto goes under. Tesla haters will eventually bend back once they experience competitor offerings or there aren’t any competitor offerings.
My only fear in this scenario is once the world truly realizes just how much disruption Tesla is and will cause, they will collaboratively destroy the operation. We need to concede that stupid rules this planet and when it concludes they are being removed from the cave permanently, they will retaliate.

About marketing. It is About brand and model 2 is not fitting in easy when it is not luxourios sporty car as other Tesla cars are so there will be no lower end car than model 3 branded as Tesla. Other cars have different brands but built by Tesla. Also it is dangerous to run cybercab under tesla brand. So in few months restructuring may happen similarly to google ->alphabet

If a company is on top of AI they don’t need a marketing department that size.

2:11 raised salaries of AI people who work in comfy offices vs disposable backbreaking manual laborers 😡🖕

As a manual laborer in a different industry that makes total sense. We can be replaced much easier than the handful of leaders in the AI industry who are getting offers from competing companies regularly

Are you suggesting bricklayers, garbage men, potato pickers, road diggers etc that are easy to find command higher pay than the high acheivers who are blessed with brains, acumen, rare abilities and are thin on the ground.

I'd probably do better job on security then his team but I like tesla light shows and anything having to do with space so I guess Ill never get past the imposters😆 Click something of Elon and get a bunch of creeps in your inbox eww🤣 They wish they were real 😂 What if I had ever met these imposter strangers in person and they just took my life and had thier way with me? Would Elon care then that this is happening with his Imposters? Image if the creep I'd encountered had done this to me or another fan, customer, or employee, or family member?
It needs to stop and Elon has to regulate something to reach all social media platforms and the gov and even FBI should be helping to protect you and your fans dispite the differences because as Americans we all have the right to safety and well being please kindly get on to fixing this before it's too late and check those SpaceX and Tesla email of my warnings ⚠️
