With a disabled boat we are stuck in the marina completing some much needed maintenance to the engine and drive system. After the changing of the engine mounts took up the last 2 weeks of our lives, the alignment and coupling change to a Sigma drive was setting up to be a challenge. Sailing is not all Rainbows and lollipops...
With a little persistence, perseverance and a flame thrower... the old coupling came off and we could install the Sigma drive from Brunton's. This one of the BEST upgrades you can do to your sailboat.

When I am impatient and worried about something, it helps me to think back on all the times in the past that I have had the same feelings. I reflect on how, most of the time, those things that seemed so life and death at the time have worked out for the best. ❤️

My wife and I were in a stressful predicament as well. Years of being an elite gymnast, my sweet wife was worried that she wouldn’t be able to conceive. The first couple of months was stressful and in some weird way, not fun. We had a talk and I suggested that we eliminate the stress and worry! We vowed to have fun and enjoy ourselves. It was hard for her but she finally let go and we enjoyed ourselves. A month later we were pregnant with our first. Less than 2 years later, we had twins!! Try and enjoy! Have fun. Love each other and your little one. Love the moment, be kind to yourself and eliminate the stress! Stress messes everything up. No worries. Sending good vibes!!

I have watched several cruisers just loving the sigma drive. Less noise and vibration and better for the propshaft and seals as well. Great job !!!

I understand how hard it is for you Bonita. I had a miscarriage between my first and second, and it took a lot longer to get pregnant with her than my first. Now she's nine and still challenging me daily. 😆 You have my thoughts and good wishes for a second successful pregnancy!
Your family is so beautiful, you are amazing parents and wonderful help mates to each other. It's a hard road, we experienced a miscarriage at 6 months. It was devastating for both of us. But eventually we had two pregnancies albeit difficult. Now they are 16 and 18.....Things will come together. We love watching your journey and are so amazed by all you have accomplished. God be with you....

Josh, the thing you had in your hand is THE KEY! The keyway is the slot in the shaft! That key is technically a feather key.
During my boatyard life I would often tell the owner it would be cheaper to take a portable bandsaw to the shaft, head to the machine shop and replace the shaft and coupling. Or he could pay me $65 an hour to wrestle with and cuss the old coupling. You could normally tell the right choice just by looking at it. Of course you have to be on the hard.
First rate alignment job.
I just realized how many "sailing" videos are actually Engine videos; I never worked on a car, but it seems that if you want to cruise you better have those skills or be willing to learn them. Or drift in the doldrums.

Pregnancy difficulties and miscarriage are very common. We went through that as well. It's very dissapointing when it happens. Now we have two lovely kids. By kids I mean a 17 year old daughter and a 21 year old son. Hang in there and all our love to you all! Great video as always!

Nice work Yosh, I don’t know if you concerned but (as much as you can hear via video) them valve clearance’s sounded slightly too tight, as in a couldn’t really hear the “tappet noise” i would expect, (maybe nothing but an unknown engine) may be worth checking, (I don’t know how far behind these videos are?).
