Plugged the card it into an el-cheapo hub with a reader in it and voila it worked. I hope this comment is of use to anyone else who gets stuck where I did.

Hi friends. I activated the 4K output today after realizing it was on 1080p mode, and have come up with a new set of bizarre problems once it's activated, including horizontal screen banding, pixellation, noise, and all kinds of weird stuff. I posted a video to my channel if any of you can have a look, and it only seems to be happening at 4K resolution (I have a very capable 4K set)
    Thanks again

Big thanks for this video, I thought I'd be tech savvy enough to figure this out on my own but this video would've saved me what I assume is a ton of time. I subscribed. My question though: How do we get that big hideous jumbo taskbar at the bottom of the screen to bugger off for good? It's actually so "sticky" that it completely covers the bottom row in TV BRO, a lightweight browser I use on any Android install when a device is hooked up to my TV. It doesn't hide on its own properly. Any tips? I am talking about the stupid big thick bar at the bottom of the screen with the icons and the controls on the right, cheers

I've installed Android 12 image half year ago on my Opi 5B (emmc) with succes, including Magisk and Gapps module.
Recently, I stared getting OTA updates, which download ok and unpack, but did not install successfully.
After some time I thought to myself, maybe it was magisk install etc...I decided to disable gapps module (BUT sadly, at the same time I also updated magisk to latest version).
The ota still did not install so I re-anabled gapss back and after reboot, the PI does not boot, it is forever stuck at the "orange slice" logo...
Is there any way to try to boot? (safe mode, disabling gapps module somehow....). I REALLY don't want to reinstall everything as I spent month configuring it as retro games station
I'd be gratefull for any suggestions!

Thank you very much for this tutorial.
I thought that I share with you (and all that follow your videos), that Android 12 on Orange Pi5 does not work for me on the following SD cards:
    Netac
    U1, A1, V30, 64GB
    Lexar
    U3, A2, V30, 128GB
, but it did on a:

I'll be checking the rest of your videos on the Orange Pi5

It's a shame - you buy a nice new SBC, you put a reasonably good OS on it like Android, but then go and turn it into a surveillance device for Google by putting the Play Store on it.

@@JustinDoesntLookAt Sonny, I care, even if you don't. That's the problem with much of your generation - consume, buy the "nice shiny gadgets" and don't think of the consequences.
You don't need to hand over your privacy to an evil corporation just to be able to watch shows and play games - that's why Linux and de-Googled Android exist.
Oh, and for the record - if I tell you not to stick metal objects in wall sockets, nothing stops you doing it anyway straight afterwards. Nobody is stopping you doing anything you want to do - they are just warning you of additional dangers or considerations that you may not be aware of. It's called "learning from experience", do feel free to give it a go yourself.
What you object to is having to face the concept that there are people like me out here who know more about some things than you do (and, no, not ALL things) and you're one of those self-entitled millennials that grew up with parents that didn't say the word "no" to it enough and now can't deal with "knowledge" and "expertise" overriding what you choose to do. That's what Donald Trump, Boris Johnson governments, the anti-vax movement and Brexit does to people - "we don't need experts any more because what I believe must be true".
Sonny, I've been the "good Internet citizen" and given you a warning about Google, my job is done and I can sleep happily. If you choose to ignore it, that's up to you because, contrary to your silly comment and as I said above, you can go do what you want anyway - and if a complete stranger on the Internet does stop you from doing something then go get some self-assertiveness therapy because that would make your own confidence in your own decision-making the problem in that case.
Now run along, mind how you go and stay away from sharp scissors (and wall sockets).
      "JustinDoesn'tLookAtPrivacyIssues"? Just a thought.
      Discussion closed.
PS. I let it go this time because you clearly need some salvation from your "technological ignorance" but next time you swear at me in a reply, I will simply ignore it.
