I’ve found with the fast preset running at 2.5x resolution changing both under clocking back to normal, with Vulkan as the backend I get the best performance. Also changing your cores from 2 to 5 in the advanced settings seems to help. I’ve been able to play gran turismo and grand theft auto at a pretty good locked Frame rate. It seems the orange pi 5 is cpu bottle necked. Increasing to 2.5x seems to fix it and I’ve gotten better performance with that then even 1x
I'm still blown away that GameCube and PS2 emulation is this good on the OP5 Even the Android build of Clone Hero works amazingly with a PS2 guitar and PS2 controller USB adapter!

It is a great step forward in SBC gameplay. A couple of hours before seeing this I was trying to boot Android off an SD card and getting nowhere, thinking that I may have bricked the board, only to discover, like you, that if you have the NVME drive attached that it won't boot Android from the card. I also tried out Raspberry Pi imager just for un and it destroyed 2 SD cards in succession during the erase process. Now that I have a fan I noticed even though the board will appear to power down, the fan keeps running until I physically remove power. Glad that the case design worked this time.
Burnout is one of the less intense games, I had an old i7 with an str of 1300 that would run burnout. Struggled with games like Gt3 and Prince of Persia. I think within six months or so the driver situation for both Android and Linux should be squared away on the RK3588 chipset, and that will unlock the full potential of the Mali-G610 GPU. Right now, all we have is the really poor panfork drivers, and it is extremely underwhelming at this point. I look forward to that time, but for now, my Rock 5B is best used as a server and testing, and not for actual desktop or gaming.
Yes, I tried the config tool with Armbian but it didn’t seem to change anything. The Android builds dont have dedicated settings for the Orange Pi 5. I will get round to it.
Mate, just a headsup, the new virgin media box comes with a pretty nice PSU+ethernet power brick. 5V 1.0A Still need to confirm both the speed of the USB and the speed of the ethernet port (a casual search on part numbers gave me nothing), but if the Google Chromecast ethernet power adaptor is anything to go by it'll be a 10/100 and *maybe* USB3.0, but I doubt it. Only mentioning it here, as I'm only here and on Twitter, and thought you may find it a useful device for 'zero' sized builds. 10/100 is *technically* good enough for most streaming of 4K Blu-Ray quality content, however the higher end bitrates would be too much for it. Have operated test files from Dolby and DTS perspective on a RADXA zero using the Google one to great effect. 👍
It's 10/100 ... just confirmed in the laptop. Looks like a Realtek USB FE Family controller. Still, that's more than enough to power a RADXA zero, I think, which is 5V .5A if memory serves.
