Unlucky Morpheus is an awesome band. My favorite after BAND-MAID. CADAVER/REVADAC song will blow your mind. Its a two-part song in a single MV.
Unlucky Morpheus is a co-ed metal band consists of:
1) FUKI - the angelic female vocalist. She is one of the best female vocalist alongside Saiki. She also performed in other bands like Light Bringer and Dollsboxx as well as her own band Fuki Commune.
2) SHIREN - Guitar/Screamer. He and FUKI are the founding members of Unlucky Morpheus, dating back to 2007/08.
3) JI'NYA - Guitar. Don't be fool by his apperance. A babyfaced shred monster.
4) JILL - violin. The last member to join this band. Awesome violinist. If FUKI is a goddess, JILL is the angel.
5) OGAWA - the eccentric bassist. Although he's not stand out like other members, he's definitely important to them.
6) FUMIYA - the crazy demon drummer. Always full of energy, non stop drumming.
It's funny you commented on this sounding like video game music. It's the growler/second guitarist's ode to Final Fantasy 8. Which isn't too surprising since they started as a video game music cover band.
Jill is definitely my favourite rock/metal violinist - brilliantly talented (award-winning classical training) and she gets more to do in Unlucky Morpheus than some others she has played with. During covid lockdown, 4 of the members formed Quadratum from Unlucky Morpheus with Jill taking the lead and covering super-difficult guitar pieces.

Great reaction and yes, they are this good. The band was formed back in 2008 by guitarist Shiren (screamer) and Fuki singer. Jill is the violists, Jinya second guitar, bass is Ogawa Hiroyuki and drums is FUMIYA. Best viewed live - ruclips.net/video/XPFLjLcH_Mo/видео.html
The harsh vocalist, Shiren usually plays lead guitar but he has Tenosynovitis of the arm so he can't play guitar for too long.
On older songs the violinist, Jill plays the lead guitar solo on violin when they play it live.
Shiren writes all the music and plays the synth and does programming.
The lead singer is Fuki she is in many projects: Lightbringer (which is on hiatus), Doll$boxx with members of Gacharic Spin, Fuki Commune which includes Jill from Unlucky Morpheus and Mao from Lightbringer. Mao is also the unofficial sixth member of Lovebites.
Unending Sorceress is about Final Fantasy VIII.

The harsh vocalist Shiren writes and composes their music and Fuki writes most of their lyrics. Shiren can play a wife variety of instruments and was also an original member of the Kami Band for Babymetal. All of their music is top notch and you can't go wrong with whatever you pick next 🤘😊🤘
Yay, Unlucky Morpheus. They have so many good songs, and Fuki also has/had an amazing collaboration project with Gacharic Spin called Doll$Boxx which I'm hoping your Patrons pick for you at some point in the future (both Gacharic Spin and Doll$Boxx are fantastic).
Am poor, so can't vote on Patreon, but honestly your Patreon poll people have good taste, so I'm looking forwards to whichever band they pick next for you.
You have to react to Unlucky Morpheus' Cadaver/Revadac masterpiece ... Note, however, that not all of their songs have the 'clean + screamo/growl' vocals combo; rather, Fuki is the main vocalist of the band.

All I wanna say Fuyuki is my #1 favorite veteran metal singer from Japan, Fuming my #1 favorite drummer(former Galneryus). Also Shiren the one with headless red guitar is one of the early Kami band from Babymetal (former Denkare, Yousei Teikoku). This is a powerhouse band! Yeah it sounds like power metal, because they're doing technical, melodic speed metal. And yeah it sounds like a video game because it's a reference to Final Fantasy 8, Shiren's favorite 😎🤘🎌

FUKI! FUKI! FUKI! You have heard her before with Doll$Boxx. Greatest female singer in Japan IMO.
One of my favorites is "Dignity of Spirit (live)" released March 14, 2020, on their official channel. It takes their progressive metal sound and pushes it in the direction of Wagakki band (without the traditional instruments). It's a particularly melodic number with Fuki mixing a bit of traditional Japanese singing technique into her power metal delivery.

Are all their songs that good? I'm going for a totally biased YES. But not all their songs are this heavy, but then again a lot are. And yes the synth was the violin, but they do use one at times as 2 of the members can play them.
The song is based on Final Fantasy 8, with the words Time compressing, Lion's heart, Squall, GF ruining memories, witch, etc they also use final boss quotes. Shiren is a big FF8 fan and Fuki dress's like Edea. It was also released on the same day FF8 released.
Unlucky Morpheus (UM) were started in 2008, as a side project, by Shiren and Fuki. They were in another band that was also a side project that did covers of video game songs, after the band stopped Fuki told Shiren that she had enjoyed working with him and wanted to do it again, so UM was started. It was just the 2 of them for a number of years. They did Touhou (a video game series in Japan) arrangement albums. After a few years the fans wanted to see them live, so they asked some friends to help them play live. In 2013 they added another member, who is also a singer, whom Shiren also had a side project with, then they slowly added other members, with Jill violin being the last in 2016, at this point it was still a side project, as all the members were in other bands, 1 or 2 still are. It wasn't until about 2017/18 that they started to make it more full time, as they started to release that they had become popular, not only in Japan, but around the world. They did there 1st tour of Japan in 2017 and played out side Japan for the 1st time in Oct 2019 in London, were I saw them. They have said that they want to do a world tour, but that idea is on hold due to the current problems.
Fuki (singer) is just a workaholic, in 16 years she has been involved in around 100 releases, mostly full albums. Apart from being in UM she is also in Doll$boxx, a side project between her and Gacharic Spin (pop rock), she also has her own solo act, plus many other things she is part of inc guest appearances. She is also a designer and occasionally does modeling work. Also she is not a trained singer, as she say's it'sdthe way her mother sang and that's where she got it from.
Shiren (lead Guitar/growls) is normally the lead guitarist, but he has tenosynovitis of the arm, so has to rest it, now and again, that's the reason behind the guitar he uses on stage, as there is not much weight to it. When Shiren takes a rest, Jill takes over his part playing violin when they are live, in 2 songs, Black Pentagram and Angreifer. He has started to do more growls lately due to his arm problem, so they a lot of songs with out the growls. He was also in the 1st Kami band (Babymetal) at Legend "I", he has also been in lots of other bands. He also plays Bass, Keyboards, Piano, Trumpet, Programming, Drums, Percussion, Arrangement, Composition, and various other instruments.
Jill (violin) is just ........................ What can you say about Jill, that you can't say about the rest of the band, she is just super talented, she is a Tokyo University of the Arts graduate and totally the real deal. Jill also claims to be pitch perfect, and can hear the pitch of rain if she wants to, as when she 1st learnt to play that is how she was taught to learn music, by ear not notes from a sheet. She has her own YT channel (jill violin channel). She has also done and still does work with other bands, some of them are big names in Japan. When she 1st joined the band they did tend to put her down in the mix when they did studio tracks, but now as the fans love her, they have moved her a bit more to the front. They have also started a side project called "Quadratum From Unlucky Morpheus" which is Jinya, Jill, Ogawa, and Fumiya. They are doing instrumental covers and have an album out. Fuki has said that the violin takes the part of the vocalist. Try a violin cover of EVH's "Eruption".
Ogawa (bass) is really a jazz bassist, he is in the band as he was friends with the other members before he joined. He was a protégé of Mikio Fujioka, who you may know from Babymetal's Kami band, were in a band called Trick Box, way back in 2008.
Jinya (guitar) has his own band called "Carbonic Acid" and also plays in another band called "Undead Corporation". He has also had to do a bit more of the guitar work due to the problem with Shiren.
Fumiya (drums) Another member that has had a lot of work with other bands over the years inc Galneryus.
There is one more member of the band, who you never really see, as he only appears at some of the live shows in Japan. He is another singer, who used to be in 2 other side projects of Shiren's, one of them also had Fuki as well. That is "Kasumi".
While UM are a metal band, they refer to themselves as a technical melodic speed metal band, they can play other styles, and often do when live. They some times do jazz, smooth, rock, on Christmas day they did a live stream which was very smooth.

Top Of The M and Black Pentagram are my fav songs from this band yet, the second one even better live to see Jill's violin at its max. As a musician you might appreciate Cadaver/Revadac better tho, to not spoil that much I'll just say that revadac is cadaver backwards.
Shiren (lead guitarist/growler) is one of the founders of Yousei Teikoku too (he left the band years ago), another band of similar style. The guy knows how to form an epic group for sure. Btw Fuki and Kobato might be the busiest women on Earth, such workhorses 🤘🕊️
Awesome band, high classical music skills, unbelievable virtuosos. When you have so many aces up your sleeve it is difficult to be repetitive.
Haven't seen anyone bring it up yet, but the drummer Fumiya, used to drum for Galneryus, a really badass power metal band.

Ankimo (as they abbreviate themselves) are definitely worth a deep dive. They started out in 2008 doing metal arrangements of songs from the Touhou Project video game. At that time, it was just Shiren (harsh vocals/guitar) and Fuki (vocals), with Shiren doing the arrangements and all the instrumentation and Fuki writing lyrics for the originally-instrumental songs. For a while, the releases alternated between vocal and instrumental albums, covering various genres, with the occasional guest session musician. Since 2014, they've been a full band (Jill being the last to officially join in 2015, although she was a guest previously) and have focused on strictly original material ever since.
UM is fantastic. You really gonna have a journey with this band. You might recognize the singer Fuki from a band Doll$Boxx. 4 of the members released a cover CD and they call Quadratum. Jill the violinist do Eruption on violin! The record is a instrumental badass CD!

Okay, so I know how much you love K-pop/j-pop, so you should check out the lead singer’s collaboration with another Japanese band called Doll$box. Morpheus lead singer Fuki, and the core group from an all girl band named Gacharic Spin fusing their musical styles together. I would recommend Twin Loud Stars, Monopoly, Merrily High go Round or Take my Chance from their first album.

One of my favorite bands. I love this song but I feel like it's not even a close representation of the actual musical skills of each member. You have a great ride ahead with more UM music.

All of them are quite insane instrumentalists. They cover 80s 90s legendary instrumentals, Far Beyond The Sun, Yngwie Malmsteen etc...

Fuki is the singer. She's incredibly talented and in a lot of projects other than Unlucky Morpheus, which would include her two solo projects, Fuki and Fuki Commune, and another group called DOLL$BOXX. She was also the lead singer for Dragon Guardian and Light Bringer prior to Unlucky Morpheus. Unlucky Morpheus has a huge catalogue of songs, though many of them are Doujin Touhou arrangements. For context, Doujin are non-official self-published Japanese works which can be based on official products or completely original creations and Touhou is a shoot-em-up video game series.
Anyway, if you want to hear more original songs by Unlucky Morpheus, I'd recommend their songs "Black Pentagram", "Knight of Sword", "M Revolution", and the "CADAVER/REVADAC" duo song. Furthermore, Jill is the violinist and she and Fuki are very good friends. The other members are male. Shiren is the harsh vocalist and lead guitarist, Jinnya is the other guitarist, Ogawa is the bassist, and Fumiya is the drummer. It's important to point out that Shiren suffers from a tendon disorder in his hands called tenosynovitis. It's incredibly painful and makes it so that he cannot play the guitar or hold it for long periods at a time. This is why you may seem him with a stand for his guitar in videos or when playing live. He may also choose to do harsh vocals only for certain songs while Jill plays his guitar parts on the violin to accommodate for his condition.
And yes, all of their songs are this good. It's a deep rabbit hole and you will enjoy diving into it.

I found out the Singer was in a Band 2017 called Dollboxx also worthy to Chck Out an All Girl Band they Play more Pop ish Metal Band are all very good musicians.

I think you should try Galneryus, for starter try Angel of Salvation live. It is a bit long song (16 minutes long actually), but it's the full version of the song because the MV version is the shorter version..

"Sounds like a video game here"... You're not far from the truth. The band started off with Fuki (vocalist) and Shiren (guitarist/screamer) doing covers of anime songs and game songs. This song in particular is based on Rinoa's downfall, leading to her transformation into Ultimecia in Final Fantasy VIII.
