Hi Zooty, I think you enjoyed that. That was one hell of a rendition of this classic song. Lucy does it every time, takes a song and with her magic seems to improve it.
She has developed a "Trade Mark" formulae now, that she starts the song off slightly slower than the original and that allows her to "Pull" the notes with great affect and then as the song progresses she raises the intensity with extra backing and the power of her voice. And it works brilliantly. Another example is Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Thanks Zooty. She is just mesmerizing. What else can you say? I think this is her best performance yet, although We Can Change The World, All By Myself, and Footprints In The Sand come close. Her range is stunning, but we already knew that.

Hello Zooty, well how can you beat that " Unchained Melody " by Lucy Thomas this cover was just so perfect she is so good, for me the best there is at the moment. Take care Barbara.
This song is famously falsetto-oriented, especially during he final crescendo, but Lucy does not need that, such is her vocal range. There is a moment of falsetto - if only to show she aces that as well, but she chooses to finish the song in her own ,unique, beautiful way.

Speaking of "your touch", it sounds like this recording was rather "touched up" for the final product. Amazing what can be done in a studio.
Well people who saw her sing live in Manchester said her singing was even better than her studio recordings!
@@Cholseyroyal That would be the benchmark then wouldn't it? I wasn't trying to bash her singing, just how the recording sounded.
@@bertjones3010 Yeah, I was at Stoller Hall. She didn't sing this, but what she did sing was every bit as good as her recordings, or even better.
@@pertwee9376 I wasn't casting shade on her, my comment was more about what one doesn't know about studio tweeks. One of the best "live" vocalists I know is Floor Jansen. Last year she released her first solo album (she's fronted groups for over 15 years). It wasn't that there was anything wrong with the recordings except that it lacked the organic nature of a live performance (which luckily I've been able to find). And Floor is pretty much a master of her instrument so her live stuff is pretty spot on. So please, I was only commenting about this studio produced song by Lucy's team, not about her vocal quality.
So why bother saying this then, 95% of studio recordings are as you say 'touched up' to a certain extent. I was also at the Stoller Hall and she performed 15 songs and 2 duets with her sister and every one better than the studio version. So again I say, why bring this up?
