  • Dear friends
I’m basically a big supporter of our local heritage and home grown brands, authentic vendors etc. In my last episode, despite explaining why I need to feature franchise outlets instead of old kopitiams, many of you still voiced your dissatisfaction. Sure, some of you would love seeing rustic old looking settings instead of fully furnished kopitiams but my job is to showcase foodie. You can’t deny that these franchise outlets were very good and I have to respect them for up-keeping the heritage of the traditional kopitiam. It’s just so unfortunate that some of you just didn’t accept this fact. As I’ve said it many times, if an outlet is good, I‘ll just say the obvious. If I offended anyone, I apologize. Meanwhile please support our local street food. Thanks and see you in the next video

My vote goes to Luck Kee then only Sunrise. Cantonese is rarely spoken by the younger generation nowadays. In some SRJK(C) schools, students have been reprimanded by their teachers for talking among themselves in Cantonese or other Chinese dialects. Thanks to people like you and Chan Fong for making Yuèyǔ continue to be alive and kicking.

This is my go-to channel for all Chinese food in the Klang Valley. I read the story how the Peking Duck was revived (from a single imperial cook who knew the recipe) when they almost lost the recipe, very interesting story.

Hello Elmo Lee! I've just discovered your channel a few weeks ago and I have to say I am always enamoured of you and your content.
I'm in my early twenties and I've grown up in a Cantonese family that has over the years spoken mainly English to me, and Cantonese among the elders. I'm fluent in English and semi-fluent in Mandarin (still not very good), but I am looking to reclaim my Cantonese roots, starting with the language (I'll pick up the culture along the way). They've tried teaching me Cantonese before but I wasn't interested in learning back then as a child, and I've got to say that I regret being that way now. It's kind of sad to see the traditions and languages/dialects of previous generations fade slowly before our eyes, and I realise I don't want to be part of the reason why it is disappearing. So, I'll just pick up the dialect myself and keep it goin', ya know?
Your channel is one of my go-to's for my personal mission right now as it fits my niche as a Malaysian Chinese of Cantonese descent. I love the production value in your work; the research into the history, the cinematography, the clear and steady pace you speak Cantonese, the English subtitles, the vocab you use to describe the food or other subjects of your video, the variety of Malaysian culture you provide to us the viewer... I could go on and on. Ughhhh I can just PICTURE and SMELL that roast duck as if it were in front of me! I'm not back home in S'jung yet and your vids are making me miss home haha
Sorry for the long text but I just had to put it out there hehe. Thanks for the work you do, I wish you all the best in your endeavors~ Please don't stop putting out quality content ^^

Sir Elmo, this evening I checked out Peninsula Chinese Cuisine due to your high regards for this restaurant. You're very right! They're really good. Score points with my Wife sumore as I brought her there. We tried the roast duck you recommended and a Iberico stir fry with bell pepper. Both selections were spot on. Duck is definitely one of the best we've had. A classy, clean, typical Chinese up market restaurant, we paid 50 bucks for half a duck. THat's good deal to me. Great recommendation here Dude
