I just went here last week it was SO FRICKIN GOOD. I live 2 hrs away in avl soooooo I will 100% make the drive for that food again. I also love how it seems like almost everyone there is from South Africa because most of the employees carried that beautiful accent. All of the messaging and beautiful artwork and compassionate sayings and facts made the atmosphere so enchanting.

Before I went vegetarian (then vegan) 3 years ago, I had an idea for a series like this, similar to Feasting On Asphalt (with Alton Brown) on the Food Network. I’m really inspired that you’re doing this, and I hope I commit to my food content with this much drive. Thank you Rebecca, you’re appreciated and you’re authenticity is palpable. One day I would hope to join you on your journey.
When I lived in Charlotte, this was my favorite spot! Their coffees are also so good, and the bakery never disappoints. I have definitely driven way too far to get the pumpkin fritters. Would die for the pumpkin fritters.
That looked delicious!! I am especially intrigued by the Jalapeño Hush Puppies, yum. I wish that restaurant was a lot closer to me 🙁😁

My home state!!!! Please go to Raleigh at some point and try Fiction Kitchen and Vegan Community Kitchen (THE BEST GYROS ON THE PLANET). There’s so much vegan goodness in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina.
Gyro- you gotta order the seitan. It’s made in house. Their story is very similar to this place in Charlotte! A mom and daughter from Turkey moved to NC and opened Vegan Community Kitchen! There is also a parent restaurant in Istanbul. It’s literally the best!

Visit Sanctuary Bistro while in Charlotte. 6414 Rea Road. Chef Barry is amazing! They relocated there from Berkeley, CA. Best gourmet gluten free, homemade, all plant based!

2:10 Not going to lie, I am jealous. Croissants (and even more so, pain au chocolat) were one of my absolute fave pastries as a kid and I am kind of missing them ;P Haven't eaten any even a few years prior to going vegan which has been already more than 3 years ago so it has been *ages* since I enjoyed one of these. Plus, a cronut and a cruffin sound awesome :D

I just tried the 12 piece KFC Beyond Nuggets and I felt nauseous two hours later…i would recommend not even trying it, but if you do, at least don’t have 12 pieces…just get the 6 piece and only eat one or two

Thoughts on it being cooked in the same oil as the regular meat that’s probably why? I think that KFC themselves said it’s not for vegans so yeah ....
