I saw level 42 around 81/82 they were my first concert as I'd just left school..Iwas luck to be at the front..they opened up with sandstorm BANG the drums went then mark kicked that bass in I had no idea what my feet were doing as I was totally focused on marks hand on that bass..I've never seen a bass played so hard and fast as that..wow...will never forget that concert 😀...you played this brilliantly well done..👍
Thanks.. I saw Level a lot.. Mark is just a Bomb...:-) it's because of him I'm a bassplayer :-) :-) When I saw him the first time ..it was the revelation...:-)
@@michelschyns1 ... brilliant totally get that...I'm the same with the bass I always listen out for the bass in any track I listen too ..I'm into jazz funk/soul big time and thanks to the robbie Vincent and Greg Edwards for putting me onto this music when I was a teenager..so glad I was a teenager in the late 70s early 80s...may be oneday I'll treat myself to a bass and learn...keep it up with the bass 🙂👍
I am a Mark King fan and have been to all Level 42 live shows each year since the 1980s. I know all the Level 42 tracks note by note, plus I have seen Mark play most of them live. Mark plays bass with a lot of attack and syncopated funk, so some covers where the bass players get this vibe are really good. Your cover is great because you get that punch funk, but in a laid back way. You are slightly laid back on the beat in the initial section which makes the listener anticipate that next note. Then in the middle section, you lay down that funk just off the beat, syncopating it perfectly and capturing that Mark King funk vibe. Very good sir!
Ohh thanks a lot Deborah... I'm very touched about your words... No easy to cover Mark and his energy, sound... I'm a fan too... But there will never be only ONE Mark King... :-) :-) :-)
Je suis en total admiration sur le poster "JazzBass" !!! Super la ligne de basse de Level ! Bravo !
Ce n''est pas un poster, c'est la photo d'une de mes basses reproduite sur une toile..:-)
Really nice playing bruv! This is coming from a Level 42 Uber Fan!

Brilliant. Have seen Level 42 five times. I don't know how he physically plays Lessons In Love for the entire song.
Well done, I’m a huge Level 42 fan!! 😀👍
Superb feel and rhythm on the bass guitar. And what a clever composition by Level 42 as well!!
