    My dentist told me once you have TMJ, it won't be 100% back again. But you can prevent it not coming back, keep discipline, change your diet, wear sprint at night, correct your bite (braces or wear bite plate) and do physiotherapy to relief the muscle. I was diagnosed for TMJ 6 months ago and I thought it was the worst time of my life, I thought the problem of jaw stiffness was because of my wisdom tooth and i went to extract. It was the worst mistake i ever done and it made my TMJ even worsen.
    Now Im wearing braces plus expander, doing stretching exercise, this yoga video every morning and sometimes meditating through Headspace, building some movement around my jaw, massaging my jaw joint area and eating soft food. I'm almost vegetarian now (Still eat white fish) because meat can be too chewy. Don't go for all time blended food, you need to enjoy life too.
    Lastly, be hopeful!
    I'm not dealing with pain but mild stiffness that I'm able to handle around my neck, shoulder and right arm. But living life this way makes me aware of every movement, time and food I'm inspiring. My husband is the main supporter even financial aids too. He eats what I eat and be my meditation partner.

    Thank you so much for making this! I have bruxism and TMJ, which caused my jaw to go out of alignment yesterday morning. It was so painful that I couldn't eat anything except for a smoothie and a small cup of yogurt. I couldn't get an appointment with my chiropractor until 5pm, so, being the yogi that I am, I searched RUclips for "yoga for sore jaw" and I found this video. This helped so much more than the Tylenol I had taken earlier in the day (it had worn off by that time). In fact, the adjustment was actually a little easier than the last one because I had already somewhat loosened up the muscles. It's amazing how much negative energy our jaw muscles can hold! My chiropractor once told me that the jaw muscles are the strongest, yet most sensitive muscles in the body. No wonder! They take a hell of a beating from us!

  • @carpeseason
    @carpeseason 9 лет назад +36

    Just did this for the first time after a year of dramatically worsening bruxism from clenching my teeth at night. Duringinutes 13-15 I felt my jaw completely relax to the point of feeling tingles in my jaw & neck. Amazing. After finishing, I could open my mouth wider (without pain!) than I have been able to in months. I'm planning on trying this before bed and in the morning and am hopeful it well help!

I thought that there would be a yoga practise for helping on you tube so I searched and you came up, I loved this practise and the way you explained everything so well. I now feel super calm! The tip on how ofter to do this video is super helpful too along with your encouragement to not expect miracles instantly but to do the practise daily consistently. So I'll be doing it again tonight, aiming for 1-2 a day. Namaste.

    I have tightness in my right side that causes my jaw to lock up and results in TMJ pain along with pressure and fullness in the right ear. This lesson was really helpful, during the upward and downward dog I could feel the fluid in my right ear beginning to drain then during the shoulder stance I could feel my Eustachian tube was coming close to popping open, a great feeling, the muscles were so tight. I'm also glad you've incorporated meditation into this as it's an incredible way to relax not only the mind but the muscles. I'm going to continue practicing this as often as possible, thanks so much for the video.

    as with any pain and suffering, what is essential is to be totally honest and integral and acknowledge where you are denying yourself and denying that you are denying yourself.
    e.g. we can be choosing to deny the pain due to a 'sub' conscious choice to avoid pain. 'i don't want that here'.. 'get it away from me'..
    in doing that we deny the source and cause of the pain and the pain continues.
    loving acceptance for all of you and your energies is what will allow truth and healing.
