The Flying Lizards defied all genres and categorisations, of any description. Quite brilliant. Love them or detest them. One cannot just ignore them. Their music draws one in and elevates ones consciousness. Pure art. Better than drugs. Or sex. Or ice-cream. 🍦🎨✌️

It reminds me of the episode of WKRP where Johnny Fever was playing the Flying Lizards' version of "Money" and an old lady walked into the DJ booth and slammed her umbrella on the turntable.

the humor inside it? Sparks is funny and strange too. or the stiffness in the rytms? - their drawback maybe.
Glenn Branka and Xenaxis is there too.

The genius of it that it shines a massive light on the lyrics and artistically showing the absurdity of the lyrics spoken in her heavy accent. I love it

Surely Peter Sellers' rendition of the Beatles A Hard Days Night must have been an influence at a subliminal level. I often sing songs in the same way as Deborah. ❤ And for the same reason.... can't sing.

It's not "bad" it's high concept. If you ever saw them interviewed, they were streets ahead of the people they were speaking to. When Molly Meldrum asked Sally about her vocals on "Money (that's what I want)", which was a huge hit in Australia, she simply responded "Can't sing". It was glorious. There's a loving precision to this. They aren't mocking these songs, they're paying homage to them. I've loved this album since I first bought it in the 80s. It's not simple, or pretty. It's art. ♥♥♥️it. Thank you for uploading it. No one carries this title in digital format ... yet.
