What a great video! Even better was the post card I received from you today! The pepper looks magnificent, and I’ll be taking some of your dodging ideas for future exchanges
When I retired last year I built a darkroom in the basement. My wife and I both love it as I'm down there and she's on the second floor practicing her violin. LOL. Seriously, I duplicated what I had in my studio back in the day including a 7 foot sink I built. It's really meditative down there. Very peaceful. We're both livin' the dream.
Thanks for sharing! Lots of great information. Nothing like printing in the darkroom. I don’t have a full darkroom and currently am using the Intrepid Compact Enlarger which has given me great results on a limited space. Maybe one day I can build a darkroom with a full size enlarger.
It is after I returned to film photography I started printing in the dark room. And it is indeed as you say: It is the absence of stimuli what makes it so wholesome. Low light, the closed door. It is only me and my developing photographs
Thanks, Rob. The 5x7 cards is a good idea. I also love the darkroom experience, and if you have never done that you just don't know what you're missing. I have friend photographers who don't print and they really miss out on the best part of photography, in my opinion.
The final interpretation was beautiful. Well done and really informative video. I haven't been in a darkroom in a very long time, don't miss the developer stains on my jeans but you've got me thinking about it again.
I was in the APUG postcard group 22 years ago when I still had a darkroom setup. Still have those postcards from all over the world. Occasionally I get the urge to get a darkroom setup again. For now I only develop myself then scan; not nearly as rewarding.
@stillshootinginblackandwhite exactly. I had a nice Saunders LPL 67 color head enlarge, Schneider lens, etc. However, the shop that I frequent has a ton of used items should I want to pull the trigger.

Glad you enjoyed the show....

It's great isn't it. Plus you have a long summer season of darkroom printing like me, because the Habs and Leaf's are early exits from the playoffs.

Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the darkroom tour and guidance.
Now is this Rob or … Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore
It's a good question, glad someone picked up on that.

Great insights about the importance of interpretation of the subject.
Glad you enjoyed the video.

It's tough to get back into it once you've sold off the gear because as you rebuy things.... it's like, I had a better one before. lol

!!
Kurtz: "Are you an assassin?"
Rob: "No, I'm just a photographer and this is the dark room."
Nice.
