The intro guitar here to Running To Stand Still, wow! Chills also. What a great mood they set. Groups like U2 and Depeche Mode set such greats moods and feel. Viva U2! 🙂
God, I love this. The intro to 'Streets' has never been done better, and when Adam and Larry kicks in, it's probably the most energetic-sounding U2 ever were. Somehow, the muddled and less-than-perfect mix is perfect, after all. The sound of the ZooTV tour is the best U2 ever sounded, in my opinion.
It's all about Adam's heavy bass sound and the blurred, ambient feel of the dominant keyboards over the guitar...they've never done a better version, and I doubt they will.
I was 5 years old at the time of this concert. This is amazing the only reason I would like to have been born earlier is to see bands like the stones, the beatles, the boss and U2 in their prime. Amazing. U2 FTW.
I went to the Auckland gig on this tour. An old neighbour was in the 3Ds playing support. He nicked a bottle of wine from the after-party and apparently incurred Bono's wrath. True story 🙂 Awesome gig. Still remember the sun setting behind the enormous stage. Wicked
They played for their lives that night in '93. WTSHNN has never sounded this intense, neither before nor after. The moments from when Edge's guitar comes chiming, via Adam kicking in, to where the singing starts, are the Zenith of U2's career. I wish they would try to replicate this version of 'Streets' - it's perfect.
The way they brought these two songs together was awesome. I think that Running To Stand Still merging into Where the Streets Have No Name during the Zoo TV tour is the best moment that U2 has every had. Chilling to inspiring in two seamless songs.
i watched ZOO TV twice in 10 days at Wembley, unforgetable nights both of them. I knew after the second night I would never see a concert that good again. It was incredible U2 fan or not the show the songs it was the best live band of all time's momment of creative perfection.
i saw this concert in belgium (i am french). It was fabulous, one thing i could never forget.... I ve never hear something like that. It is my favorite band ..... ever and ever. (Sorry for the mistakes i don't pratice english very much).
One thing that sucks about ,,being around a while" u get less and less excited about things, cause u' ve seen it all before..But my God, goin to U2 show is a treat every time..ive seen 'em many, many times now, in europe and all over North America..Every flippin' concert is awsome..sorry - Stones and Pink Floyd, u are great, but your Shows were never as exciting as U2's...goin to see them this summer in Lansing ,Mi...70 ooo people sold out...and excited again !!...best live band ever..thank u
this is the best live version of Running to Stand Still!!!!!!!!you are going to freak out when you are there!!!!!!God is Great , He gave us Bono, allelujahhh!
Christ, this makes every hair stand up on my back...the segue into Streets brings tears to the eyes and reminds you of a time when music really meant something...a long time ago now though, maybe that's what makes it bittersweet in a way..
This entire video was shot at the gig where U2 thought might be their last. A few days prior, Adam Clayton, the bassist, had collapsed and broken down after his alcoholism took control of him spectacularly. Nobody in the band knew whether they could continue anymore, which is why they played this gig with that reckless verve. So brilliant.
I'm sorry, on my third viewing now..have to post again, this is beautiful..just fucking un un belie...ah. just too good, cant say how good..just. thx U2..seriously..i think god would have this on his Ipod!!
when he just stops in the middle of walking back to the main stage and looks back at the crowd and the spotlights go off and you think the concerts over.....then you here the intro of where the streets have no name so beautiful!
I agree. The ZOO TV show I attended in which I was right next to the extended stage, was ... incredible. Only another show was as great, but I'll keep that to myself. But since ZOO TV... nothing... well actually... Roger Waters current Wall tour looks pretty darn amazing too.
For real when he pretends to hit the needle in to his arm and he then sings Hallelujah I had tears in my eyes. The way he describes the feeling of a drug addict on his short lasting High. It really is nbeliebably touching. U2 are not just a band who play there songs, the concerts are one solid piece of Art!
That transition from Running to Stand Still to the organ progression in the intro of Streets is probably the best few seconds in live music history. Then again, I always end up saying that about U2.
Everyone's bashing U2; how boring and bland they became. Maybe they're right. But remember them at this stage; the best band in the world. They made history with this tour, the most groundbreaking, but also the most soulful spectacle in rock history. Still is. And this video catches the exact highlight of that tour, which is then the highlight of U2's career. I love this. As big and touching as rock gets.
POPmart tour, Elevation tour, Vertigo tour... nothing can compare to THIS version of "Where the streets have no name"... i just have shivers when i watch it...
was there sydney football stadium 1993 on a Purple Om tripping balls And Was the best Nite OF MY ENTIRE Life : nothing will come close to this concert !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I rememebr being there on this night. It was epic. I was close in there somewhere. The chick he pulled up and danced with during Love Is Blindness came from close by.
è assolutamente incredibile di come sia trascurata questa canzone(running to stand still)in assoluto, per testo e musica, una delle più belle canzoni degli u2....addirittura fuori dalla raccolta best of 80 90......veramente un mistero!!!!
Larry has said that this is his favorite song and it must be. He actually smiles at 6:58. He's said that he's concentrating so hard during concerts that people think he's in constant pain.
12 years later and I've just watched this footage. I saw and posted that exact moment elsewhere. What an incredible look of calm and satisfaction on his face, smashing one of the biggest songs on the planet in front of thousands of people. Just extraordinary 🙂
well,i always say you havent lived until you been to a U2 concert even if you are not a fan.Bono is so passionate and brings such emotion to every song he does and he gets in touch with the crowd.I am hoping to see them when they come around again to my area!!!!
OMFG...that was the BEST video I have ever seen on youtube ever. I worship in the house of U2 and I bow at the feet of Bono. Thank you thank you thank you thank you for posting this. I will be watching this every day from now on.
Lighting in a bottle... A band with a complete catalog that was still young enough to bring the energy to the stage, not to mention the money required to put on a show like Zoo TV. If you weren't there I would say it was the Gen X Woodstock on tour, maybe I'm being dramatic, but again, if you weren't there you don't know. We'll never see it again.
As many times as I've seen this, the intro to Streets still sends chills down my spine.
Me too! I must have seen it a million times over the years.
Simply the ultimate live music moment in time.
The intro guitar here to Running To Stand Still, wow! Chills also. What a great mood they set. Groups like U2 and Depeche Mode set such greats moods and feel. Viva U2! 🙂
Even the hardest of hearts cannot fail to be moved
God, I love this. The intro to 'Streets' has never been done better, and when Adam and Larry kicks in, it's probably the most energetic-sounding U2 ever were.

Love Bono's "pure and simple just singing" moment that is Running to Stand Still....this whole things is gorgeous.
I was at that concert, Awesome...20 years have just gone by.
ROBOCOP I was at it too. How time flys.
You lucky SOBs!
2 years later, I thought I'd just stop by to watch this, and yep! Still the best video available on youtube!
"She runs through the streets
With her eyes painted red
Under black belly of cloud in the rain" Epic songwriting!
the transition is timeless. Absoulutely amazing! no one will ever beat U2
this blew me away
this was on a whole different level, and from the look on their faces, they knew it.
Nothing can beat that transition from running to standstill to streets AWESOME.
Such a seamless transition. These two tracks should always play in that order
The ultimate ten minutes of live music experience.
Where The Streets Have No Name is so Fu**ing Epic, especially this version!
U2 at their absolute prime - actually, their best 10 minutes.
It's all about Adam's heavy bass sound and the blurred, ambient feel of the dominant keyboards over the guitar...they've never done a better version, and I doubt they will.
I forgot how to breathe when I watched this, I was actually stunned infact..........words can't describe how much this band means to me!
I was 5 years old at the time of this concert. This is amazing the only reason I would like to have been born earlier is to see bands like the stones, the beatles, the boss and U2 in their prime. Amazing. U2 FTW.

this is one of u2's most iconic moments just incredible!

Best ten minutes of live music of the 90's.

one of the highest moment in music of all time

Still has not been beaten - ZOO TV.
Period.
Those that witnessed it will agree.
I really get the chickenpocks from this song !! I love U2 forever !! Bono is my god in mind and soul !!
get goose pimples. still great gig, great songs and btw best streets intro ever. mindblowing
I so glad I can't write these songs, I'm lucky to have people I know not get sucked into a nightmare.
Indeed best version, I really love the way running to stand still streams out into the streets, it's beautiful! It's the sound of heaven..
I want a Delorean and... well, you know.
STILL the best 10 minutes on RUclips.
Perfection. The best performance by any band I've ever seen.
I totally agree. This is THE performance, and when 'Streets' fire up, it's THE moment.
We all know whats coming when he starts to walk....amazing
There were a lot of high points on the ZOO TV tour, this was probably the best moment of all.
This rendition of running to a standstill is even more amazing than the album version. And the Edge's echoed melodies!!!! Goosebumps.
WOW GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE BEST ROCK BAND OF THE HISTORY OF ROCK FOR THE LAST 30 YEARS!!!!
the intro to the streets have no name has got to be the best ever in the history of music- could watch it over and over
one of the best live-versions
Christ, this makes every hair stand up on my back...the segue into Streets brings tears to the eyes and reminds you of a time when music really meant something...a long time ago now though, maybe that's what makes it bittersweet in a way..
where are the good old days of zoo tv; this is magnificent :)
Such a classic song. I wish they played thid song more often cause it's one of their most emotional and touching songs.
its a shame no one nowadays knows what u2 were like at their best!!!

The bridging music between 'Running' and 'Streets' is absolutely sublime.
The strobing guitar . . . . sublime
I agree. The ZOO TV show I attended in which I was right next to the extended stage, was ... incredible. Only another show was as great, but I'll keep that to myself. But since ZOO TV... nothing... well actually... Roger Waters current Wall tour looks pretty darn amazing too.
Again, the best 10 minutes of my day.
wow...i watch this every morn to get me fired up about the day
Tears in my eyes every time...
how come only 70,594 peole have watched this should be far more! U2 best band ever!
In my humble opinion, this is the greatest medley ever done. If you know any better, do let me know.
Best show they ever did.....wish I could recapture that night!!
*.* the better concert of all time.
this are two fantastic song
i love U2!!!!!!!
Only thing better than watching this video on here is seeing it live...Awesome
I have been wathcing this video for an hour straight, and can't even describe it. Gives me goosebumps. Unbelievable
I'll take this to my grave: 5:35 is the greatest moment in every u2 concert.

this is the best transition to where the streets have no name
That transition from Running to Stand Still to the organ progression in the intro of Streets is probably the best few seconds in live music history. Then again, I always end up saying that about U2.
Who you ever your are... You're SO SO correct... Tears In my eyes every time
Every human should watch this video.
This is the biggest music in the world.
Everyone's bashing U2; how boring and bland they became.

Absolute force of nature back in the day
POPmart tour, Elevation tour, Vertigo tour... nothing can compare to THIS version of "Where the streets have no name"... i just have shivers when i watch it...
Immortality in the making ♥️
its the best ever build up to the intro of streets ever!
was there sydney football stadium 1993 on a Purple Om tripping balls And Was the best Nite OF MY ENTIRE Life : nothing will come close to this concert !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I rememebr being there on this night. It was epic. I was close in there somewhere. The chick he pulled up and danced with during Love Is Blindness came from close by.
Omg, how was it?
i was at this concert, fucking hard to believe it was 15yrs ago....brilliant.
Edge's guitar at the start of this song gives me adrenalin that no drug ever could woooooooooooooo..
one of the finest passages of U2 in action I have ever seen. Hallelujah indeed
I love this version it was the first one I ever saw of my favourite song, it is sooooo good
Edges playing is just...well, emotional in this version.
halle halle.. hallelujah... halle halle.. hallelujah..halle halle.. hallelujah..halle halle.. hallelujah
With Zoo Tv Bono became the best show man in rock history.
Great, I love this moment
I love Edge.
hallelujah...this man is a star.
è assolutamente incredibile di come sia trascurata questa canzone(running to stand still)in assoluto, per testo e musica, una delle più belle canzoni degli u2....addirittura fuori dalla raccolta best of 80 90......veramente un mistero!!!!
after 30 years, still the biggest band on the planet....
"u gotta cry without weepin'...talk without speakin'...scream without raisin' ur voice...."..
Zoo tv was their best tour ever and will always be
I was there.
Absolute pure theatre
Was it good?
Two amazing songs performed absolutely beautifully.
God...U2. Amazing.
6:58...the look says "yeah we are fucking nailing this!"
Joe Mayo I'd say that look they have does the rounds a lot !
that intro to Streets Have No Name is fkin orgasmic!! just got to be the best ever intro in the history of music
best version of running to standstill. ever.
chills galore. Muse can have their moment but it'd never top this...

Lighting in a bottle...

Love The Edges guitar.
ZOOtv changed touring bands forever. It rocked my world. Long live U2
