Nature of things will never be the same without David Suzuki. He will be missed.
Happy Birthday Dr. David Suzuki! Heart felt thanks for all you have done for Canada, Nature and the World!
Forgot to mention, I'm an engineer and it's wonderful to hear the insight from David. Loving the sciences was probably influenced by David. I am always keeping myself abreast of the wonderful scientific discoveries constantly being made.

Youshould see the engineering in his million dollar home
@@Ashoud_Anobetah I want to apologize for being a little rude, but as I explained above, you are wrong in your ideas about his house that he earned…
Loved him in Karate Kid
we are connected to the rocks , rivers , air , and trees and everything , this is our world view .
Yes, we come from the natural elements, are entirely made up of them, and deposit them back to the planet when we die. The cycle of all life. A cyclical, closed system.
We are all one just in a different body form.
Yep he's a good model of hypocrisy
One of the biggest hypocrites in Canadian history. How can he preach about climate change when he owns several properties, flies all over the world and country and leaves a bigger carbon footprint than the average Canadian?
Funny how he said his house where this interview was filmed will go to his daughter. Since that house is right on the water, what is he going to do when the sea level rises?
@@e-curb oh don’t you worry about him, I’m sure he has more than one house, he’s not a carbon peasant like the rest of us
@@novemberstango7291 Indeed! His house on the ocean in Vancouver is worth $13.6 mil now.
Just like his buddy Gore, and of course Bernie the Bolshevik Sanders, another socialist pig at the trough. A real life picture of Orwell's Animal Farm.
David Suzuki one of the biggest hypocrites on the planet. Am other top down do as I say not as I do. Someone with a bigger carbon foot print than Sasquatch
He should have asked about his other house on the gulf islands.
For the purposes of your argument, is hypocrisy worse than apathy? How do YOU measure the success of a campaign that uses resources against no campaign at all? Hide while you rail against hypocrisy, because your grievance reveals an apathetical approach for what it is.
@MyMonkeyMind7 maybe you should ask David to explain why he needs so many houses to live in too
THANK YOU dear Mr. Suzuki for all you gave to us. You are loved and appreciated, and your wonderful legacy will live on. Enjoy your retirement... you more than deserve it. I do hope that 'The Nature of Things' can go on. ❤
I agree with David's father!!!
People are upset with his house, is he supposed to live in a shack? Makes no sense!!!
Big business and ignorant people have disagreements with David.
OK, so what is the problem!
Thank you David for your intelligence and insight to the NATURE OF THINGS!
I wish you long life and please never stop being an advocate for this planet. I'm glad you listened to your father.
how'd he pay for those houses again? oh yeah from his foundation just like the BLM dunce lmfao
He was also a successful scientist before he bought the house, and in the 70s Vancouver real estate was cheap, not the rip off it is today…
It's about time he finally buggered off.
I love that Brit expression. Says it all!
His most important message needs to go viral

David Suzuki. An Icon.
he was my UBC prof and taught genetics. BEST teacher ever. HE was founding member of Greenpeace. My classmate, Jim Fulton, also was Greenpeace. But, he was the NDP MLA for Haida Guaii and lived there with his wife and fought hard for the Natives. He hated fish farms that finally are now banned. Jim brought a huge salmon into House of Commons in Ottawa to show how healthy and gorgeous the local salmon are... soon to infect our oceans with sea lice and farmed salmon. Suzuki was a hero to those that love and want to protect our environment
He has got to be the biggest hypocrite on TV. Nice that he's no longer spewing the lies anymore.
Dr. Suzuki thank you!!
I'll miss Mr. Miyagi.
Well done dr Suzuki. Thank you for caring about our earth with such great passion I’m sure you inspired many who will pick up the torch Enjoy your retirement.
David, you made a difference. I don't think I can say anything better than that.
lol ok bud
He's like a Mr. Dress-up figure in my childhood, he raised me and taught me so much. Thank you for your decades of service Mr. Suzuki
Yep. Went directly from Mr dress up to watching the nature of things in 1977. I remember watching the show for the first time picking up take out pizza with my Dad in Charlottetown PEI. The tv was on in the waiting area. One forgotten pizza order lead me to study Undergrad in biological science.
The quintessential Canadian saying 😁
I love this man! Thank you for your service.
he thinks you are a maggot ruclips.net/video/y0kTkZqahho/видео.html
@@johnh23z and he's only wrong in that humanity is worse than maggots. Maggots provide a service in consuming dead flesh.
@@in_ur_moms_house I like Humanity ... God created us all

Been watching sicne I was a young man, not a young man anymore going to miss your voice and your outlook on Nature. Thank you for all you taught us.
If you’re going to talk the talk, you’ve got to walk the walk.
An environmentalist with five huge houses?
Someone is getting played!
For the purposes of your argument, is hypocrisy worse than apathy? How do YOU measure the success of a campaign that uses resources against no campaign at all? Hide while you rail against hypocrisy, because your grievance reveals an apathetical approach for what it is.
Not too bright are you ?
@@MyMonkeyMind7 HUH?
If he thought the world was been destroyed by development he wouldn't be doing more developing by buying multiple houses.
Ergo, he's lying and playing the global warming cut dopes.
@@MyMonkeyMind7 You're in a cult.
Get deprogrammed.
@@MyMonkeyMind7 Well it obviously is a cult.
There is no scientific justifications for all the alarm and there is no economic justification for all the insane 'fixes',
eg, ethanol and bio-diesel.
Suzuki once said canada needs to end immigration, calling our program “disgusting” and insisting that “Canada is full.”
Maybe
That’s nonsense.
That's the only accurate thing that ever came out of David's mouth.
In the 80's he screamed acid rain....in the 90's it was the ozone layer and killer bees invading Canada..... now global warming hysteria....
@@judyives1832 In 2013, in the French news magazine L'Express, Suzuki called Canada's immigration policy "disgusting" (We "plunder southern countries to deprive them of their future leaders, and wish to increase our population to support economic growth") and insisted that "Canada is full" ("Our useful area is reduced").
I do not like him. Never did. He is arrogance personified.
Congratulations for providing an environmental education for so many for such a long time. Enjoy your retirement!!
what the heck?! he's still alive :)
This mans' voice is as familiar to me as any other. And as a north Vancouver islander, I understand and support his concern.
He was a big part of my childhood. Enjoy your retirement
🥳
absolutely
Thank you for your service Mr. Suzuki. It may not have seemed like it by some, but it was appreciated by most.
Man if only I could fly around and have massive diesel generators at my mansion too
Didn't look like a mansion to me there genius.
What a treat to hear about David again. (Then again I do life in the US now). However, I know he was a part of ALL our childhoods/lives (depending on the age I guess). He looks like he is 45
He's poison.
Always Loved! David Suzuki! And the Nature of Things! I am 55 yrs old and he and the show has always been a part of my Sunday night. I saw him live and in person with Malcolm Gladwell at McGill University with my teenage daughter. You signed each of our books and I was so delighted! I will miss you Mr. Suzuki! 😘😁🌲🪵🪴
I want to find a cabin in some place remote - put up a solar panel and binge watch his show... All 44 seasons. That's a long time and I know I would recall much of the change over those years.
He was the guest speaker at my daughters convocation from Université Sainte-Anne. As a family we were delighted for our daughter to be finished her double major but to have him there speaking was a changing moment for us all.
With styrofom cups, plastic utensils, did you recycle, or throw in garbage? Be honest now.
Where full CBC National this morning?!
Good on you Mr. Suzuki for putting your views first!
People commenting say they don't know who he is; look up university speaking engagements and his demands before he would attend (I think Carleton University in Ottawa posted about him years ago). One of the demands was an all-female security team (like Muammar Gaddafi) and the women had to be "attractive and physically fit". Sleaze ball back then and no doubt still is.
Yeah, I remember that. A real harem master!
A definite Icon for Planet Earth. He inspired my life in so many ways. Enjoy the retirement. You are un-replaceable!
With five houses and a private seaplane for transportation.
Nobody is un-replaceable. That's reality.
Dr Suzuki is an honourable legend and a pioneer and a strong individual, and I’ve met him several times… Seems strange the CBC had to get their medication politics into this, are you really that du-b, or just scared of the lawsuits coming for your misinformation on this issue, truly hard to know,,, The truth is everywhere on this issue, except obviously with the CBC…

You did your job and did it well, thx for the education of nature, very interesting show,I really enjoyed watching it over the years.Wishing you continued health and long life David,God bless you.🙏🙏🤞🥰💞
Mr D Suzuki is the most influential teacher I have had ...i have no idea how the nature of things can replace him ...unless his daughter steps into his shoe,s ....
Hopefully not - They might get some accurate facts on that show instead of straight up propaganda.
He’s a liar and a quack

A gentleman with a backbone and clear vision. Thanks, David
That's David Suzuki! I just looked up his age 86!! I hope I'm that healthy mentally and physically. I'm 59 and I remember watching him in my teens. He brought a lot of insight to this planet we occupy, loved the nature of things. I currently work in California but born in Montreal Canada, I really do miss Canada 🇨🇦.
I have to watch the rest of this interview with David. Just commented about his physical, mental attributes and fond memories of his program.
David lied he said we would drown, what happened, just another greenie making a buck, full of BS
If you really didn't care what people think of you then you wouldn't need to say it, because it wouldn't enter your mind. Go back to not thinking about elephants.
Does, generational theory reposition the role of environmentalism? (There may be supporters and trolls here. I'm asking this question to anyone who identifies as an environmentalist.)
If as environmentalists, we have learned the nature of things is that we are nature -inextricably interconnected with the natural environment around us- we are departing from various historical models of thought including, humanism and reductivism. But this departure cannot actually occur without changing fundamental approaches to how we live. Such radical reorganisation can only happen at a societal scale, and yet much of society is too invested in existing models of thought, social systems, and infrastructure to divest. However, we seem to have arrived at a time when much of society, an increasing number of generations, are now accepting that radical changes in global systems are necessary for a more hopeful and better future. Perhaps as environmentalists we did not fail, and were not even 'before our time' but laid necessary groundwork to identify options for a more hopeful and better future? Perhaps it was simply a matter of generational turnings, before a time of possibility for radical reorganisation would emerge?
Incredibly smart and personable scientist and presenter, best wishes in retirement doctor.....

Yes, people need to be educated about science. But it would be good if the education was done by actual scientists.

At 5:43 Suzuki mention's the ideology taught to him by his Father to stand up for what you believe in ....

David Suzuki greatest huckster in Canadian history!!!
Well, there are others of the same ilk that come to mind. One is Patrick Watson the co-founder of Greenpeace. Thankfully when he turned that into a gang of terrorists and pirates, his partner Patrick Moore jumped ship. Moore is a real scientist who offers real solutions.
Thanks,David!🎉💪 1970+💙
