To be frontiers saved sonic but sonic mania is also a fantastic game the soundtrack gets better every time I listen to it. The main flaw I have with mania is the controls for special stages. The rest are great. But frontiers will be my favourite sonic game ever.
Prob the most safe sonic game they ever made next to forces. Like at least rise of lyric trying something new while mania plays just like nerfed genesis games, but i guess its all they need. Its aight for me, i like sonic cd more honestly.
@@ActuallyParty never said its bad, Its just safe. which is why its not that impactful for me. Like at least sonic cd even when it released close to sonic 1 and 2, have different kind of level designs and time gimmick to make it bold enough making it stand out for itself. While mania...yeah you know what, safe doesn't mean its bad its just hard to be stand out for itself, hell harder to be more memorable.
I enjoyed the video but your writing is sloppy. You constantly lost focus of the topic you were on and it results in the video being poorly structured. You have chapters and you're video was still hard to follow. It also wasn't very engaging. Every section consisted of you reiterating "The game did this thing, and its so perfect, There is so much personality in this game, I love this game." You also didn't explain the main thesis of your video (being "Sonic Mania saved Sonic"). If the title and the intro of this video were excluded and I watched the video at face value. I would've thought it was a poorly written video of how sonic mania is the best game ever.
yea writing has never been my strong suit, i try and make it feel more casual but for this game i struggled because everyone already knew how good it was. i appreciate the feedback and im glad you still enjoyed the video😁
no it did not save sonic even tho its popular everyone knows it will be good because its classic sonic it was not sonic team because it never gained trust because forces ruined it because we need trust for 3d games
No, 2d was also struggling. First off, many boost era games were mostly 2d, so any problems with them automatically reflected 2d. Comvined with before mania the last 2d game fully being sonic 4, and 2d sonic was by all accounts deaf and buried. And even ignoring it, the advanced trilogy is a mixed bag, and rush adventure and colors ds are also split, mosly because of the means to unlock the chaos emeralds. They had the same downwards slope as the 3d entries, with the 3ds getting the worst of it, simply trying to replicate the mainline games but fully 2d in generations case, ruining the point of generations and playing worse in both instances. And even since mania, origins was a bad remake, with some shortcuts completely broken by the physics changes, which needed to be fixed. And buying it was confusing, and later some things were removed for the dlc, which is outrageous. And Superstars is just as confusing with all the dlc, and has it's own issues involving the bosses and a anti cheat engine that actively makes it run worse, and wants modders gone. Sonic is as shaky as ever, 2d included. A few good games doesn't change that, especially when they're so far apart. Generations, mania and frontiers may have made it worth keeping an eye on, but trusting sega not to release alot of trash in-between isn't happening, for 2d or 3d.
i wouldn't say EVERY game after mania was bad. frontiers tried something new, superstars finally brought back multiplayer. dream team was an actual good mobile game. but ofcourse there is forces
@@flopndropFrontiers is boring and repetitve with strange writing and a terrible final boss, Superstars is buggy and has terrible level design, and dream team is locked behind an apple paywall.
What's Your Favourite 2-D Sonic Game?
Mania by far
Sonic 2 but Sonic & Knuckles is a close second

not really most people liked 2d in the boost games until forces but then sega learned their lesson “again”@@shadowsnake5133
