ScreenPrism thank you! As a boss... a couple of seasons into the show...I thought that he was actually a great boss...his goofy zany antics help performance even though the team doesn't see it -- in Greg McKeown's book Essentialism - he discusses the importance of play to facilitate high achievement
Dwight helps....with his sales numbers commitment and ability to always show up for work any branch would stay open...its just facts...and even so they still go down and need help from sabre to stay open so..
The Take I want you to know that I couldn't stand you comparing this guy with don qijote since the book is about the dangers of living a fantasy and the main carakter is portrayed as a delusional madman who should be in a mental hospital
Yeah, why so many likes for this? Even reading "How is watching movies increase productivity" should make you think about voting on the post. I don't even know with people nowadays, just makes me sad.
Pam's art show is, to me, Michael Scott at his finest. A rare occasion where he says and does everything right, and not because he's trying to cheer her up... that'd be disastrous, and he's not even aware that she is upset. No, because it's a true reaction from the man who really, really loves to sell paper and looks at his staff as being friends. "There is my window, and there's my car! Is that your car? That is our building... where we sell paper. I am really proud of you.". Such a great scene, such a great show. Pamcaso, lol.
That scene always makes me tear up. So sweet! I also just love seeing him with Holly. They are one of the most well-matched TV couples ever. They are so dorky and sweet together.
"Don't ever, for any reason, do anything, to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you are with, or where you are going, or where you've been, ever, for any reason whatsoever." - Michael Scott
Something I’m surprised you left out, in one of the episodes (can’t remember) Michael claims that “people will never go out of business” his branch flourishes because while the other branches and corporate focus on selling paper, he focused on serving people, he sells on the premise that when you call, you don’t get an answering machine, you get Pam. That your call matters, that you matter. And people always will pick that over email or robots. That’s why Michael really is the greatest boss, and why he could sell anything and flourish is because, he is truly in the people business, and as how I stated earlier, “people will never go out of business”.
This is why the Office just wasn't the same when Michael left. Because even though each character is so unique and so special and adds so much to the story, Michael was what brought them all together. EDIT: wtf I’ve never gotten notifications until now and this is the most likes I’ve ever gotten 😐
You know, though, I always thought that maybe a lot of those kids worked harder and did better in school because they thought they were working toward something, so... They were probably better off in the end than they would have been if Michael hadn't done that.
Hakajin That whole episode he was giving Erin such a hard time just because she wasn’t Pam and she couldn’t do anything right but it was Erin who brought up that point in the end. The principal let her know that Scott’s Tots were high above the school average for graduations and Michael realized that he did do some good at least, and he realized that Erin deserved a break.
You forgot a pretty good point I saw in anther video: that Micheal values his customers as people too. Did you see how he planted that sale with Jan. He barley spent any time talking about actual paper, instead, he got to know his client and tried to create a personal connection. He puts the customer's needs first and treats them with respect
Yeah, he was willing to spent a whole day making one sale. On pretzel day, he was constantly making Fat Albert jokes with 1 customer. You know that made the customer feel good about themselves. "Oh wow, this branch manager took time to make jokes with me all day."
When he goes to the meeting at corporate and he makes friends with the people there when David’s scare that he’s going to screw up. Michael always looked ridiculous to everyone but he always knew when to put his shit together.
This Motherfocka yeah and then after Jenna Fischer told us that she was actually saying her goodbyes to the actor that plays Michael I watched it again and you cried ten times more.
Forever in debt for Michael and this show giving to us one of the best memes in the universe. "NO GOD! NO GOD NO! PLEASE NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
At a old job I worked at the boss had left to Arizona for two weeks and we had a high number of sales the whole time he was gone! We were all joking around with each other but still productive and we experienced some of our highest numbers. When he came back he saw the high numbers and tried to micromanage us to keep them up, needless to say that they went back to normal
Yep there's always that boss that blames people being lazy when in fact it's the boss' own negativity that creates a toxic environment, making it harder for employees to be motivated.
Thes something to be said about treating responsible adults like responsible adults. At my retail job we had the same experience, the whole vibe shifted once they hired a manager, who was like a vat of negativity at times.
I noticed this many times. I had the worst incompetent boob for a CEO during the 1990's. Major douchebag. Anytime he was out of the office a lighter mood hit the Staff and productivity increased.
Where I work the boss is really laid back, lets us smoke whenever we want, constantly jokes around and doesn't micromanage very often if at all and the business is doing well. Before that we had this really shitty boss who treated everyone bad and micromanaged everyone and we were losing money. It really shows that sometimes a "light touch" is better than a "heavy hand".
Oh man, if I ever feel horrible, and as someone with chronic pain, that's not too rare, all I have to do is to think about the stapler in the jello and I always feel a little better. 😅
Can confirm, having a boss that cares about you and treats you like a friend works far more than being a scary overlord and using fear as a motivator. When I like my boss personally, I want to work harder for them simply because they're my friend and I don't want them to get in any trouble for me not performing.
Regina Miranda nah it feel off on season 8 and 9 and season 5 was meh, Parks and Rec started off great and only got better and is the better AND more consistent show- It’s always sunny is also better than bother
Regina Miranda the office is number two because south park is one. You cant argue it, ive literally watched the office more than any other show, but south park is the GOAT
OutlawStar Joseph season one is dope, and parks and rec is only good for three seasons 2-5 after that its really bad. I never even finished it because i just dont care anymore after season 5. I sure as hell didnt care went they went to london lol that shit was dumb as hell. Its always sunny is three behind the office and south park! Love all three so Im saying this unbiased. Office season 8 and 9 are good but not great. The office finale still brings tears to my eyes everytime. Parks and rec aint even top 5
That kind of person brings a spark of joy, brings people alive and electric and fun. Being lit up like that, we become more versatile, adaptable, productive and excited about life and doing a good job
@@chrismccaffrey8256 Well. I had an older version of Michael Scott as boss. And what can I tell you, while it can be entertaining it is also incredibly frustrating. I do not wish to go back.
You said it yourself, the biggest reason his department is producing the highest numbers is because his employees "rise up to the occasion". It's not their job and they most definately don't get payed for it, they just care so much that they don't want it all to go to hell. Michaels biggest achievement is that he knows how to recruit good people.
I disagree. Jim does minimal effort. Dwight works hard anyway. Stanley does what he is asked and Phyllis I don't know. And Andy wasn't good. Michael last decision was to give him the best clients and we saw what happened. In fact, every single of Michael decision was bad
@@louis-stephane1391 Every single one of Michael's decisions was bad? Like the time he got David to to cave in and nearly bought out the entire Dunder Mifflin paper company to the paper company he just started? Say what you want about Michael's competence but he became manager for a reason. Dude knows how to sell.
@@LimmeLimbo I did not say that he's a bad salesperson. He is a bad manager. Remember he only managed to fool David become he knew Dunder Mufflin situation as he was a manager there. Plus Jim giving him intel which is fraud
@@louis-stephane1391 watch the episode again. Jim did not give him any info. He did what David told him to do, ask Michael if he is willing to sell. It was nothing bigger than a small white lie.
@@louis-stephane1391 You say Jim does minimal effort, but he is routinely offered promotions from people who rank much higher than Michael on the management scale. Its satirizing an office space. They arent gonna show us these people actually working
"Why Micheal Scott is Actually the World's Best Boss The dude quit his job, went off and his own paper company to then bargain his job back and to fire the man who made him leave his job in the first place. I think its pretty clear why
Maybe do a comparison on how Michael’s persona contrasts from David Brent on the British Office. I mean they both started out as the exact same character
I would say Michael actually cares about the company, in his own way, whereas Brent is ultimately far more self centred, and thus less likeable. There's one episode where the boss of another branch screws over the company for a better deal with a rival, and Jim says "say what you like about Michael Scott, he'd never do that". Whereas Brent is happy for his whole branch to get closed so he can have a promotion. You see, you've got to look at the whole pie, and the people are the fruit... Scott also wants actual friendships with his employees, whereas Brent seems more interested in being admired.
Now You See It did a fantastic video on the difference between British and American comedy with The Office as the focal point. It doesn't focus exactly on David Brent and Michael Scott but it really gives some great perspective on what sets the two versions of the show apart.
Yeah the last episode is really optimistic, just like the American show really, but it feels so earned and unexpected because of what came before it. "Chris? Why don't you fuck off" is one of the most satisfying lines in tv history. I thought Finchy was a better character than Packer, because there was something horribly familiar with how Finchy bullied people and got with women. Whereas Packer just seemed like a loser. Like Michael tells a story that ends with Packer having a threesome, and it's like really? That guy? I'd expect Michael to do better than him.
The Office UK is superior on a technical level, in how it's much more authentic and less exaggerated. That being said, I prefer The Office US, because first and foremost, it succeeds as a comedy. It's basically the perfect comfort food for whenever I'm feeling down, whereas the UK version is too bleak with a subtle theme of existentialism. For as many funny moments it has, it's not the ideal comedy for me.
"the best boss i ever had" had me tearing up. This show was a comedy before anything else, but there were some really beautiful human moments like that which made this show special.
I absolutely loved what they did with Michael's last day. Instead of mostly showing the small changes in his character, they opted to make sure that his redeeming and charismatic qualities are the main focal point. For example, he did ask Pam what flavor ice cream she wanted and accepted Phyliss' incomplete mittens which showed growth in wanting to make things all about him from earlier seasons, but he also gave Andy some of his most valuable clients despite knowing how bad a salesman Andy is and innocently insulted Kevin's appearance. I honestly think that's how you end a character's arc---not compromising the character's traits as to make them almost unrecognizable, but to shine light on what made them great.
Agree about the employees being forced to manage themselves or otherwise their branch will collapse and they will lose their jobs...actually, The Office is a satire of the workplace. We know as employees that if we can get away with poor performance and still get paid, we will. I experienced having such a lazy boss that his subordinates, me included, had to think of ways to implement what our boss's boss wanted us to implement in the workplace. Otherwise, as the front liners, we are the ones who will suffer.
I think it only works because he manages to inspire a weird sense of loyalty. Like there are things you would do for your boss but then there’s things that you would only do for family
@Lady J. Yeah, I mean, anyone trying tobe a Scott in the company/company branch they manageare playing a dangerous game : If they’re selfish, the employees, well, you’ve said it yourself, if you don’t want them to backstab you, you make them LOYAL to your “rule” : To the vision you have for the company that they fall back to so as to fill in the role someone like Scott can’t do, just like in _The Office_ ‘s case, if you want to see it that way. He makes that loyalty out of being, simply put, nice, maybe pitiable (‘haven’t watched the show), and respectable for those things.
Michael: A good manager doesn't fire people. He hires people and inspires people. ... People, Ryan. And people will never go out of business. He understood what the business was all about.
Student: “how have you adapted your business model to function in an increasingly paperless world?” Michael: “Real business is done on paper, ok? Write that down.” What a legend
When I first came across this channel I thought it was just another mindless puff channel like Watchmojo or Looper. I regret thinking that, you guys put in a lot of effort and research into your videos. Keep up the good work.
I would like one about Michael and Jim. For some reason, he actually feels empathy for him, and he got to tell Mike about his fears and desires with Pam, as well as support him after Carol's break up. They have a unique and uncommon relationship I'd like to see
"The best rulers are those whom the people hardly know exist. Next come rulers whom the people love and praise. After that come rulers whom the people fear. And the worst rulers are those whom the people despise. The ruler who does not trust the people will not be trusted by the people. The best ruler stays in the background, and his voice is rarely heard. When he accomplishes his tasks, and things go well, The people declare: It was we who did it by ourselves." Lao Tzu,speaking of Michael Scott.
One compliment I will give Michael as a boss is that he true his hardest to keep his employees. By that I mean when his higher ups tell him that he's gotta lay some people off he tries his hardest to keep all his employees. He doesn't become cold and distant, easily firing someone, but he actually cares for employees like his own family and friends.
That part about micromanaging is SO TRUE. At my past jobs we really did better when the higher ups weren’t around. We all knew how to keep things going and when they’d be there on occasion theyd micromanage and actually slow everyone down and put people on edge rather than get them motivated.
Love this video! As a manager in a restaurant, I’ve found that when my employees start getting frustrated or stressed, getting them to laugh is an excellent way to help them recover quickly. This is so accurate.
getting ppl to laugh is one thing, but that wasn't what michael was trying to do-that was usually an accident. tell me, as a manager, do you ruin your coworkers' parties and gatherings because they aren't focused around you? do you get mad if an employee talks about health issues because it takes ppl's attention from you? i suspect and hope not.
Here's my theory: Michael creates a fun workspace and keeps people happy and gives so much "pizazz", so that the employers take it themselves to work, and they can always have Michael for stress-relief. So the employees take it themselves to work, which means they have a 100% focus to do good work. And it shows as they have great performance.
The Office save my Life. I discover the series in a very hard l and depressing moment. And this video just make me feel nostalgic and warm. Thank you for that.
This is just so good. Holly = Dulcinea is the sweetest thought. It would take too long to go on about how many reasons this video is brilliant. I'll just say "I'M PRISON MIKE"!
Micheal is honestly a great boss. The scene where he comes to Pam's art show and telling her that he's proud of her was by far one of my favorite scenes. It's interesting to see a different type of relationship, whereas it's normally a romantic one. It was just so pure and beautiful because Pam was really sad about her work and he always knows how to lift her up. What a great boss, friend, and mentor.
YES! I've been subscribed to this channel for a while now, and when I finished The Office a couple of weeks ago, the first thing I did after watching the credits roll was come here and see if you had any video about it. You don't know how happy I am right now. Thanks for your awesome work.
On Season 4 Ep 12 Did I Stutter When Stanley tells Michael that he donot respect him a bit was the most heart breaking moment when watching first time. You know he's terrible boss but still he's just trying to make his employees happy but after finishing whole series you realize he's actually the world's best boss
Stanley is just a insufferable character, he cheated on his wife, obesed and lack of any motivation and ambition to work hard, he created the environment he was in and he is all that can be blamed.
he never tried to make anybody happy but himself. he wanted to have fun, he couldn't care less about the rest of them. he ruined every party they had because he wasn't the focus, every outing they had because someone else got too much attention. if he made anybody happy, it was by accident.
@@trashtiermemester4971 it's not like he had it bad. remember he retired to an island or something and as far as i can tell, he was able to keep his wife AND girlfriend. it's not like stanley suffered for his wrongs.
We see glimpses of Michael's people skills whenever he closes a client or when he leverages David Wallace into getting his job back. He's an actual genius. Which is why Corporate made him Regional Manager. I think he does know that micro managing people would ultimately hinder their productivity. But then again he's a kid, he wants to have fun and have friends and family, something he never really had as a kid. He maybe wants to be the fun parent to his employees that he never had. Love you, Michael Scott. Love you more, Steve Carell.
Michael Scott is my favorite character for these reasons and kind of reminds me of myself: he is over dramatic, he is constantly looking to make everyone (except Toby) happy and is constantly looking for the appreciation of others. Finally people find him annoying when he is there, but once he is gone there is something missing
I think that in the part where you talked about the different managers there was only one manager better than Michael and that was Dwight. Dwight’s management style is completely opposite from Michael. While Michael played into nonsense Dwight did everything to remove all nonsense like the other bosses. But he was able to do it because people actually respected him and took kindly to his management style. All the other managers like Deangleao, and Charles failed to get rid of nonsense and wasted time because they didn’t take the chance to befriend anyone while Dwight said it himself they were his closest friends. All the workers sucked up to the other bosses without actually gaining respect for them while they all treated Dwight like a friend while also respecting him as a boss. He applied his own instincts to the office by making it a professional place while using the most important thing Michael ever said “at the end of the day your office workers are just that, your very best friends.”
I like the theory that one of the reasons that Andy fails in Scranton (he goes from being director of sales to the worst salesman in the company) is because, like this video explains, Michael isn't a boss who directs his workers as much as he lets them use their individual creativity and strengths, unlike the Stamford boss, Josh. Josh is shown to direct his workers and give them specific tasks, which is something Andy needs to succeed, being less a self-starter than a yes-man as he is. So, the boss who lets his workers have the freedom to choose how they'll solve problems creatively is not the best for everyone, especially not task-oriented or rule-oriented folks.
One of my favorite scenes that describes Michael is where Jan goes to Stamford to tell Josh he was getting promoted and then he screws them over. Then Jim says "Say what you will about Michael Scott, but he would never do THAT!" Perfectly sums up Michael to me in that one sentence!
It's a wonderful show and I couldn't help but fall in love with Michael. Yes he's dumb and blind but he cares about his employees and sees them as friends. Michael deserves happiness too
@@ZeroFreak1 does he tho? seems to me he cares about himself and if others have fun in the process, that's just an accident. he's selfish and narcissistic. even birthday parties for other ppl are always about him. when his "friend" kevin thought he had cancer, michaels only concern was that kevin was taking attn away from him. i don't need any friends like that.
I started watching the show very recently and I'm quite baffled to see how much love the character of Michael Scott receives, pretexting he's a "genuine" guy, "he wants the best for others", etc. I understand he had quite a difficult childhood, somehow, and was never able to connect with others. But to me, the few moments he acts as a normal and decent human being are not moments I think "how sweet of him". 1 right doesn't erase 10 wrongs. He's a self-absorbed jerk whose inability to show any empathy is somehow borderline psychopathic. He's a child in an adult's body, given too much power for his aptitudes. He has no understanding of what's rude or not, just like a child. Everything has to be about himself, to the detriment of others. And he doesn't realize his inability to create a true friendship with some people stems from his own behaviour. When something goes bad, it's everyone's fault but his own. Just like how a child thinks. I really find his character despicable, despite understanding the core "need" he has. And as I said, 1 right doesn't rectify 10 wrongs for me. And yes, he's "genuine" to an extent, yes he's "truthful" at times, but damn is he a fucking child who's been given too much responsibilities and who doesn't understand most of his own issues connecting to others comes from how an ass he is. And him being supportive of others and believing in his colleagues/"friends" doesn't balance the tremendous amount of shit he's doing/saying constantly. Because even when he proves to be supportive, most of the times, it's to benefit himself. Yeah, I really don't get how people can like his character. Carell is a hell of an actor though.
Seeing the thumbnail for this video made me grin like an idiot :) I grew up on this show, I love watching how you've perfectly summarized what's so special about Michael. His personality has bothered many people I know - people not totally unlike his employees who perhaps rightfully scoffed at his methods and ethos. But after multiple viewings, I began to truly appreciate Steve Carell's nuanced performance, and how he was able to bring these layers of sensitivity and honest emotion to the surface, even amidst the silly antics. And how underneath his often immature façade, there was a decent man who deeply and genuinely cared about the people around him (ok, maybe except Toby Flenderson!) I can't begin to express my admiration for the work you so clearly pour into all your video essays. They're nothing short of fantastic, and I hope you know how very lucky and thankful your subscribers are ♥
I teared up whenever Michael said in that interview when he was a kid that “When i grow up i want to be a father so i can have 100 kids and have 100 friends”
One of my favorite scenes in the office was when David Wallace brought Michael in to ask him for guidance and Michael just rambled incoherently. If you pay close attention the clues are there.
I would love Michael as a boss. The co-workers I've had who've valued play like he does absolutely make work a better place to be. I also love the episodes where they show that Michael is really good at his job! He comes across as childish and needy, but he's excellent with people and sales.
This video's made me cry. I have gone through a lot after losing my job, my boss that was like Michael Scott. I never thought I would miss work. I never felt more at home in my previous job.
Is there any other sitcom *as old as this one * that still has an impact nowadays? I’m on my early 20s and I love this show. It’s amazing it helped me in such dark times 🤟🏾
Having a bad or incompetent boss is one way to instill camaraderie in the staff. It bridges gaps in backgrounds, petty feuds, etc if everyone shares a common disdain/frustration of the boss. The staff then works to support each other more than the boss, which is kinda better than the traditional goal.
This was a fantastic video, almost made me cry. I’m just finishing up this series for the first time ever, and I miss it already. I hope you ladies do one of these for Parks & Rec. another wonderful show!
I actually think that I wouldn't mind having Michael be my boss for the most part. If he could get rid of the constant distractions that sometimes last an entire day or even longer, I think he could be a great boss for me. There's low stress, at least as far as the work goes, which for someone like me who has anxiety issues, would be great. It also seems like the people at Dunder-Mifflin: Scranton are kind of like a family, which is also something I look for in a good job. Also, "That's what she said!" would absolutely be okay with Michael at all times, regardless of the situation.
I think Toby summed up Michael Scott... "He's like a movie on a plane. It's not great, but it's something to watch, then when it's over you're like, how much time is left on this flight?" That statement is very dark at the end, but it really does tell Michael Scott in a nutshell.
I watched this again to make sure I was correct, and I am. The voice over actress in this video is into what she is saying. Unlike the A Clockwork Orange and The Big Lebowski videos. You have such great talent, you just need to bring it to things you are not so much into.

When he goes to the meeting at corporate and he makes friends with the people there when David’s scare that he’s going to screw up. Michael always looked ridiculous to everyone but he always knew when to put his shit together.

michael scott: the boss so great, his hairline restored itself
That's respect from them
At a old job I worked at the boss had left to Arizona for two weeks and we had a high number of sales the whole time he was gone!
To be fair though, most bosses are stupid. That's how they get promoted. They need the real workers in a productive spot.
It really shows that sometimes a "light touch" is better than a "heavy hand".
is there a way you could do one on Jim and Dwight’s relationship over time? thanks this one was 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Jamad Tyler no no. Jim was Michael’s best friend. And Dwight and Pam were best friends

The ScreenPrism episode on Dwight goes over his relationship with Jim to a good extent.
Can confirm, having a boss that cares about you and treats you like a friend works far more than being a scary overlord and using fear as a motivator. When I like my boss personally, I want to work harder for them simply because they're my friend and I don't want them to get in any trouble for me not performing.

We need a "Why The Office is Actually the Best Series Ever Created" video
Everyone knows it's the best
Regina Miranda nah it feel off on season 8 and 9 and season 5 was meh, Parks and Rec started off great and only got better and is the better AND more consistent show- It’s always sunny is also better than bother
Regina Miranda the office’a first season was also kind of bad
Good boss is probably one of the most important people in your life. They can make or break your life.

aaaah! that was a TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! JUST, terrible episode to sit through.

"Why Micheal Scott is Actually the World's Best Boss
The dude quit his job, went off and his own paper company to then bargain his job back and to fire the man who made him leave his job in the first place.
US Office is superior in everyway
"the best boss i ever had" had me tearing up. This show was a comedy before anything else, but there were some really beautiful human moments like that which made this show special.
Couldn't agree more
You think Stanley’s grow on trees? They don’t 😂
Do you think the world is crawling with Phyllises?
@@babblingalong7689 yes its reality now
I absolutely loved what they did with Michael's last day.
I wish Michael Scott was my boss. My boss reminds me of a cyborg from the future. It's as if "she" was sent here to destroy my individuality.

I love his dynamics with his receptionists. Pam is his mother and Erin is his daughter
It's *because* Michael is completely inept that his employees have no other choice but to manage themselves.
Which might be the best thing you can do as a manager.
RonVandeil only if you have amazing employees which 99 percent of companies don’t.
@Lady J.

When he goes to Pam's art show and says to her "I am really proud of you!"- World's best boss

Michael genuinely cares about his employees and remembers their birthdays and tries to make them as fun as possible.

Micheal is honestly a great boss. The scene where he comes to Pam's art show and telling her that he's proud of her was by far one of my favorite scenes. When Stanley tells Michael that he donot respect him a bit was the most heart breaking moment when watching first time.

Which is why Corporate made him Regional Manager. I think he does know that micro managing people would ultimately hinder their productivity.
Michael is always the best when he's trying not to be the best.
As always... pure perfection
Well it's about time
I like the theory that one of the reasons that Andy fails in Scranton (he goes from being director of sales to the worst salesman in the company) is because, like this video explains, Michael isn't a boss who directs his workers as much as he lets them use their individual creativity and strengths, unlike the Stamford boss, Josh.
“What a great boss you turned out to be” this show is so close to my heart and now I’m crying to that line. Thank you Jim
If I have a boss like Michael Scott, that job would be the last and only job I’ll ever need. The man just sees his employees as his close family.
Would love to see something about parks and recreation. There are so many great characters and relationships in that show.
Cecillie Jensen P&R is too fluffy. I fail to see any inherent depth in it. It's so much fun to watch. Not the deepest show imo.
One of my favorite scenes that describes Michael is where Jan goes to Stamford to tell Josh he was getting promoted and then he screws them over. Then Jim says "Say what you will about Michael Scott, but he would never do THAT!" Perfectly sums up Michael to me in that one sentence!
I saw s1 today. He seems like a really caring guy. He tries really hard to keep everyone happy.
This made me tear up. Whenever I watch seasons 1-7, I always feel like I'm right there in the office with them thanks to Michael.
And how underneath his often immature façade, there was a decent man who deeply and genuinely cared about the people around him (ok, maybe except Toby Flenderson!)
I can't begin to express my admiration for the work you so clearly pour into all your video essays. They're nothing short of fantastic, and I hope you know how very lucky and thankful your subscribers are ♥

I would love Michael as a boss. The co-workers I've had who've valued play like he does absolutely make work a better place to be. I also love the episodes where they show that Michael is really good at his job! He comes across as childish and needy, but he's excellent with people and sales.
The Don Quixote comparison was perfect. Great video as always.
This video's made me cry. I have gone through a lot after losing my job, my boss that was like Michael Scott. I never thought I would miss work. I never felt more at home in my previous job.

10:48 Dwight is Michael's Sancho Panza, or if you will, Mozart's friend
This is a brilliant assessment. This is by far the most informative and entertaining youtube video I've seen in quite some time.
And I am totally enamored of the female voice of the video. She could earn her crust on her voice alone.
I watched this again to make sure I was correct, and I am. The voice over actress in this video is into what she is saying. Unlike the A Clockwork Orange and The Big Lebowski videos. You have such great talent, you just need to bring it to things you are not so much into.
Finally a video about one of the best comedy shows ever! Please do a video about Creed or Dwight, or maybe even Jim.
