Yeah, I did something similar, I had some left over manure in a bag and didn’t want to have laying around so I decided to pour it all a pot , as a top up, (because it had little amount of soil) and NOW my tomato plant is now stunned in it growth and the leaves are curling up, ….I figured the roots are all clogged up in there, as manure can clump up.
Where all my other tomatoes are growing perfectly.
    Love n learn.!!!!!

Hi Ashley! Your tomato plants look remarkably healthy. No spots, no holes, no fungus, no die-off, no leaf drop. My tomato plants have all that, to different degrees. Too bad I live far away from you, otherwise I'd invite you do to a video here (no shots of me). I think you'd revel in all the things there are to diagnose in my little container garden. Luckily, my plants are hanging in there with sporadic mild treatment (I'm afraid to over-do it). They've been through three long heatwaves, some storms, and another storm coming tomorrow. They've been remarkably resilient. Thanks for showing all your tomato plants. I wish I could have that many! Take good care til next time. Hugs and kissies for the animals!

Perfect timing for a tomato talk. I'm trying the non pruning and I have tons of still green cherry tomatoes. Now I have a believable idea why the leaves are curling. The spray with Neem oil recommendation wasn't working. Besides we've been living with 100+ temps for months.

I tried to put table scrapes on the bottom of my containers before filling with soil and I got a bunch of flies. I did not use any animal scrapes, just fruits and vegetables, actually mostly vegetable and some bread that got moldy. Yup, I got tons of flies. Someone said to top with leaves before adding the soil, but I don't have any brown leaves in the spring when I am planting. So I won't do this again. Next year I do want to try blending the scrapes in the blender with a bit of water, similar to a tea and see if that will work. I guess our summers are not hot enough, and when it does get hot it doesn't last long enough to break it down.

How bout the leaves at the bottom of my black cherry tomatoes dehydrating, and turning gray? 🤔
I can't find a video or website that covers what this problem is.
Ever so slowly,, it starts on the lowest 'tip' leaf just like blight, but with no spots, or yellowing/browning >>>> just solid gray, anf it's not mildew. It doesn't move to the next leaf until the tip leaf is conpletely gray, and totally DRY. Takes about a week >>>>> I said "slowly". 😉
    Anyway. . .

All my little seedling beefsteak tomatoes are dying. They looked really good for a while, when I first started fertilizing them with just a tiny amount, about half of what the bottle said, they did really well. But then they slowly started dying, leaves falling off and everything. So I tried to transplant them into bigger pots, but that just seems to have made things worse. Now it's only two left that look somewhat half way healthy, the rest look like they're not salvageable. I don't know what's wrong with them, maybe it's because I let them dry out a few times because I had them with the peppers that don't mind drying out. Or maybe too much light, the peppers like at least 16 hours a day, but maybe that's too much for the tomatoes. I've planted a whole new batch now, hopefully it's not too late. At least the peppers are doing great. Anyway, great video, helped me rule out a few things.

Great video! I always learn something in each of your videos. My Big Boy tomatoes are doing well; I'm pruning suckers. The Celebrity took forever to start growing...but I've since realized that that part of the bed is not getting enough light...sun shift, tree foliage. I wonder if taping tinfoil to the fence behind the plants would help reflect some light? Or is the season too late? About 6 weeks to frost (not that anyone can predict that 😄); my last spring frost was late June. Lucky me in a low-lying area. 🙂

The lack of pruning and unruly growth is driving me nuts!!!....so a huge part of the problem in the first part of your video... Is airflow.... I feel that airflow is vary underestimated.

Ok so I have a tomato problem and I can't figure out what it is. So initially, I had a tomato plant in about a 5 gallon pot. The soil is mixture of pumice, vermiculite, and sand. On top of that, I added some mulch and compost layer. Now for what I thought was the problem: I thought I was overwatering when brown scabs appeared on my tomatoes. However, my tomato growth tips started turning black and dying off. I kind of can't believe I under water since I water twice a day and now I mist plants of over 85-90 degrees to solve temperature problem.
The growth tips literally look like someone burned them. But is it really not enough water?
