Hey, y'all! If you haven't watched Jenna's "tea to butter" video, you must take a look! This is how I found her as I was really struggling with getting the water to pigment ratio I was looking for to accent my pen and ink work. I've seen others, but Jenna is a great teacher and watching her actual strokes and how the paint to water ratios look was like the light coming on! All Jenna's videos are great but this one, so basic, yet so necessary is a great place to get started. Thanks, Jenna, and Happy New Year!

I'm so glad I watched this video while having my late lunch earlier today. I've already bought some of the supplies and feel like even though I couldn't go really high-end, I didn't go too cheaply either. I'll be watching all of your watercolor videos, practicing techniques as I go along in a spiral bound pad as my water-coloring diary. Next up, I plan to watch your Complete Beginner's Guide. I haven't done any water-coloring with a brush and pigments, pan or tube. All I've done are a few super simple techniques with water-based markers and ink pads over rubber stamped images - I was a demonstrators for a rubber stamp company. I'm really looking forward to learning how to select brushes to accomplish specific brushstrokes and marks on my paper. I'm hoping to be at least good enough to get enjoyment out of the hobby. Once I've gotten through all of your freebies, I look forward to joining your Patreon group. Thanks so much for making so many learning resources available to your viewers. Not having to pay instructor fees helps me (widow living on social security) to afford the materials, tools and supplies. You're a terrific teacher and I'm so happy I stumbled across your channel.

Lovely water cups! You should drop a Paint Puck into the bottom of them especially your first cup or dirty cup to gently clean the paint from your brushes! They have allowed me to keep my brushes longer and better for longer as well! The Paint Puck also comes with its own “jar” but so easy to drop one into your regular water cups! Less expensive too!

I just started watching and already love the fact that you cover the size of the brushes you use, and also the brands! I’m very new to watercolor and I can already tell the brushes that don’t snap back to shape when wet make it REALLY difficult to achieve even simple things like leaves. THANK YOU.

I've been using De Atramentis Document fountain pen inks as my cymk 'paint', as I haven't been getting the results I want from my Koi travel waterbrush palettes or from my Faber-Castell watercolour pencil crayons.

On the subject of "cheap" paper, have you tried the Baohong Academy paper? It's 100% cotton, tends to run for about half the price of the more expensive paper like Arches, and comes in blocks of 20 sheets. Sounds like a pretty good choice when money's tight, which it is for pretty much all of us nowadays.

Hullo Jenna, I have enjoyed the Sanford papers especially their soft surface paper! I want to recommend to you and your viewers look into “house” brands, Kilimanjaro from Cheap Joe’s or Blick’s all cotton papers are good choices and so much less expensive especially in the 22x30 sheets! Paper is the most important and often most overlooked supply or tool for watercolor painters! Thank you for sharing your beginner series of videos, so many very good practice techniques.

St. Cuthberts Saunders Waterford is one of the most expensive papers out there. It is currently about 50% more expensive than Arches. Maybe you are confusing it with St. Cuthberts Bockingford which is cheaper, although you are clearly showing Waterford in this video.

Didn’t know I could add acrylic ink. I liked that you demonstrated the round vs. Filbert brushes. I am glad that you said there is a tea to butter video because 20% paint to 80% water which I heard about prior to watching this video, sounds like a good tip, but impossible for me to figure out how to do. Looking forward to watching your two hour beginners video. I like how you talked about your Patreon and how it can offer more lessons. I feel a bit more impatient with learning watercolour compared to acrylic and gouache. It seems way more technical and controlled in comparison. Thoughts?

Hello, I've watched your Maimeri video introduction, I've heard that you're paying attention to dangerous media so I would like to tell you, since you're using it, that on the back of the green gold tube is written that is toxic (contains copper, may be harmful if swallowed).
