It was great to see Beak in action again with his more complete moveset. His origin story is a sad one, but looking back at it, I think it justifies his motives to stop Hwoarang from progressing in the tournament. It may be that Baek wants Hwoarang to strengthen himself more, but I think that in a deeper meaning it's also his way of trying to stop Hwoarang of getting in the middle of the Mishima's dangerous battles for power, since he's seen what that looked like in Tekken 2. Their fight is a battle to prove who has the strongest drive to move forward: the master who knows loneliness and wants to protect his treasured student, or the student that wishes to settle the score with his rival, even if he has to go through his master. Regardless of the result, the fight was beautiful to watch.
