Alabama was my first concert ever. My mother let me stay overnight with my boyfriend and his parents in the parking lot of the coliseum where they were selling tickets. We were drinking beer and somebody brought a boom box. We were in a country-western dance team in high school, so we danced on the asphalt and everybody clapped and sang. The tickets sold out that day and it set records in my town for how fast they sold. We were even on the news, because they came out and filmed how long the line was and how late at night people had come to stand in line. We had gotten there at 6pm the night before! Mickey Gilley & Johnny Lee opened up for them. Such great memories.
Hello hip hop DJ one of my favorite commentators you give a great reaction to this classic Alabama song feels so Right it is so emotional from beginning to end you can't help but cry every time I remember when Alabama was a nobody group it was back in 1979 I live in Columbus Georgia and they were at the at the Chattahoochee valley Fair and with like you only pay like one or two dollars extra for admission to see them and then to think of that they become superstars in the country music Hall of Fame that was something anyway hip hop DJ I'm one of your number one fans glad you come back with this great song look forward to seeing your future videos have a good night
My real love for country music centers around ballads. Alabama recorded many great ones and this is certainly one of their best. The musicianship really complements Randy’s voice.
They certainly earned their place in Country music history. Probably the BEST band ever in Country music. Many continued thanks for letting us take Your journey with You.
Have you heard Lady Down On Love? They used to have the June Jam in Alabama every June. I had the opportunity to see it. It was amazing. So much talent.
I just know Jeff Cook is watching with a smile from heaven! How wonderful, that internet lets the music play on, and find new fans!! We loved Alabama in my house, my children grew up with them. Thank you Dj Pj !!
Revisiting old videos and reactions while relaxing on the porch with a cold beer after a very nice vacation in the south. Steaks on the grill and Dj Pj on RUclips. Listening to all my fav's...Alabama, Statler Brothers, Glen Campbell....Thanks Dj Pj for all the great reactions and hangin out with me on my winding-down time. I watch some of your reactions over and over!!!
This is my favorite Alabama song. I love ballads/storytelling songs the most and Alabama ballads are among the best.thanks for the great reaction and have a blessed day.
What a great selection P.J.! One of my favorite songs by Alabama. With so many great songs it is hard to go wrong. This song is probably responsible for a population boom! I am really looking forward to the journey into the Super Group that is Alabama! Great reaction P.J.!
Brings up so many memories. Great ones. Not so great ones. Beautiful music. I love the harmony. The blending of the voices. Country music at it's finest. Reminds me of Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, "I've Done Enough Dying Today".
It's sad brother that we lost the co-founder Jeff Cook I love hearing him play that fiddle the fan of them since I was a little bitty baby they are a pretty good band
Dude...I don't know if you ever do any re-plays, but these guys and some of their songs are worth a do over reaction. That voice Randy Owen has...those harmonies...Alabama!!! DjPj...!!!!
Sir, I truly enjoy listening to you channel. Alabama has been a favorite band of mine since childhood. You should also at Lady Down on Love, Face to Face, She and I and You've Got the Touch. And don't forget "Cheap Seats." I dont know if there is truly a bad song from them. Keep up to great reviews and God Bless
Awesome song...by one of the best bands I've ever seen in concert. I saw them in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and opening for them was another GREAT group, you should check out, and that was Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. New subscriber from BC, Canada.
I have always loved this song ... so romantic and "watm feeling". And, of course, sung and played flawlessly ... after all it is Alabama - can never miss with them. I hope you do more of theirs. God bless you.
My Dad ran their tour merchandising for 15 years. I lived in Fort Payne until my mom got hired by Johnny Paycheck to run his merchandising and I moved to Nashville with her. Great band, though.
I am not sure how many years it has been since i heard this, or even thought about it, but it has been far too long. Thank you for playing it and waking some latent brain cells. More Alabama would be fantastic, in my opinion, please do! Something that I am realizing as you play through various eras of country is how much it has changed over the years, as the world has changed, and yet how much the core remains the same. Peace!
PS not for review on your channel(s), since decidedly not country, but Disturbed just dropped their new album and the do a track with Ann Wilson (of Heart) that you might like. It is called Don't Tell Me, and the audio is available on RUclips.
Yes Alabama is such an iconic country band that I have loved a long time. When I was married this was a favorite song of ours. Makes me feel sad now. 😥 On a lighter note can I make a request for a group called Sweethearts of the Rodeo. Don't see that you have done anything of theirs. My favorite is "Satisfy You." Hope you'll check out these ladies. One use to be married to Vince Gill. Thank you for another great reaction. 🥰
THE BAND -country -of the 80s ? I think. At ant rate.. great great music/ band. Many big hits. Take care DJPJ. -F-DW.-dan. Til the next time…..ps. I think the lead singers daddy called him-tar top-cause of his black hair.? I hope thats rite? Its bn a long time since i heard it. 👍 great love song for sure..
I tend to type a lot of words on here but I don’t have to type a damn thing to point out what a masterpiece this is. By the way, I too have hung sheetrock in my life.
With Alabama having the 21 straight #1 hits is a major accomplishment by them and it's most likely no one else will ever duplicate it. Alabama is most likely to be the greatest Country Group / Band of all time. I don't expect any other Group / Band being able to have the same success as Alabama. I love all country groups - just not Alabama. With their 41 #1 hits so far there are few artists who have even done that. With George Strait getting 50 #1's and maybe even more now is why he is called " King Strait".
Hey man I would like to request a song by Wynn Stewart, called "COULD I TALK YOU INTO LOVING ME AGAIN" a great country song that doesn't much play, please give it a try. Thanks

@Eric Eisenhart The fam is good, safe and secure. Mom was on a Thanksgiving cruise with my little sister and some cousins. My three grown girls did their own thing this year. My better half and I had a nice quiet Thanksgiving. Thank you for asking!
Will you do the Lady of Heaven Trailer next? Also there is a channel that does incredible research on really important subjects. It’s called Rafida plus. The executive producer of the movie is currently the one making content there.
Nice reaction!!! This is the first song I ever heard by them, or maybe it's just extra great so it was more memorable that I think it was the first. Yep, you can keep on rolling with Alabama. Like you said, they have a few more hits.

I love the harmony. The blending of the voices. Country music at it's finest.

That song is so hot. My favorite of their ballads, though, is "Close Enough To Perfect".

They had two different names before Alabama
